:(Makaio is the new guy. He's wasting no time mating with Thunder each day. Ake was injured two weeks ago right before the cams went down so no one really knows what happened to him. All we can say is, he got into a fight with another eagle. He was injured but is no longer seen under the brush where he was last spotted. Makaio is not that eagle as that eagle involved in the battle had no bands. Makaio on the other hand has two bands and is from Bald Canyon and was the second eaglet banded by Dr. Sharpe there (it's 46 miles away from this island). His brother is actually named Sharpe after Dr. Sharpe which is a cool fact. He's only 3 turning 4 this year but is a big boy.
