Hi EV1.
Pretty scary last evening.  The warnings were blasting.  I am only about 5 miles from the lake and 20 miles west of Cleveland.  So not really close to Erie.  Closer to Pittsburg I think.
We had a few gusts of about 20  or so.  No damage.  Bad stuff went south of us again.  I was concerned for Karen and Debbie.  Especially Karen.  She is terrified of storms.  She had surgery to relieve pressure in one eye, and has lost a lot of vision in her right eye.  So she cannot drive.
I called her to keep her company.  She has been trying to get the winter stuff off for quite a while, but cannot turn on the water to her hose. We soaked the faucet with WD40, and I drove her to a car wash.  Then spent the evening playing rummy at her house.
Lots of bear activity at Snow last evening.  It is kind of hard to find by scrolling back wards.  I saw a great sunrise at GSB. I shared the view with my nieces and Debbie.  The CA niece, Kelly, shared some nice photos of her and a friend on horseback trying to round up a run away horse.  Kelly does a lot with horses near her.  Not sure just what her arrangement is with the owners.  I don't think she owns any.  She just care for them.  Today she said she is trailering one to the trainer.  Whatever that means.
Nest cams look normal.  TV are getting some rain from the sound, but mom is very cozy on her eggs.  Did not see Ely bears.  The snow is gone today around there.
It has been very nice here.  No dirt ever showed up.  I've been trying for 6 months to do this.  Now I wasted three nice days in a row waiting for a call to go and show where to dump.
Now I will say CULEV1 GBU.  Especially our fearless leader Cal, and Bren.

Cal, it's upsetting to hear that you're not feeling any improvement, and I can understand your frustration. I was impressed, though, that you could get in the car and drive! I just hope that at some point, you will feel better than before the surgery.
Jo, I'm happy to hear that the worst weather stayed away from you and your loved ones. It was very kind of you to stay with Karen and help her pass the time away without extreme fear.
Hi Paulie, it is hard to catch up when you miss a couple of days. I don't usually do a good job of that. Has there been a resolution to the electric problem at your cabin?
Bren is home now. She really missed her little apartment, but the staff at the hospital said they were going to miss HER! One of the nurses cried. We're hoping she doesn't have too much sickness after the three chemo treatments. Thanks to all of you for the continued thoughts and prayers for my wonderful sister!

Hi cal, jo and nan.

Hi cal. I think you're reading this. We care and want the best for you.   :-*

nan, Good news Bren is home. Prayers definitely continue for her.

Jo, Good to no damage last night.

Letting you each know we're heading to cabin tomorrow morning. Bad storms hit. 70 to 80 mph winds reported. Contractor texted me he checked out cabin and nothing has fallen on it. I was worried about a very close tall tree that's on one side of cabin. It survived the 70 to 80 mph winds. Yay. He said it's a mess with trees, power lines and misc strewn everywhere.

I got notified cabin restored at cabin then got notified maybe not but I think all's good and we'll have power and make pot of coffee in morning. Hope so! We might spend the night till Friday if we've got power and all's good. Side of mountain can be wonky so will text tomorrow if I can.

Sleep well. Take care. SED

It is 65 and cloudy here.  Still waking up.  So no comment on cams yet.
Paulie, your post about your cabin reminded me again of our honeymoon cabin in Althom, PA.  I hope they were not badly damaged in that area.  I will try searching for status there and in Tidioute.  Which is about 10 miles downriver.
Good morning to EV1.  I am sending prayers for your comfort today.

Thanks for posting Cal.  We were worried for you.  Sounds like you have their encouragement to rest a little more and heal.  I hope you can do that for your sake. GBU!  Did they say "no driving" again?

Oh, cal, so sorry you fell! 44 staples!!! I agree with Jo that it sounded like more rest will help you, too. Somehow you have to balance it all, and it's not easy.
Jo, thanks for the prayers.
Thinking of you and your cabin issues, Paulie, and hoping for the best.
Sleep well, everyone.

OMG!  It's about 11PM here.  I just turned on Snowman and saw tonight's bear mess.  Then while I watched, the table, which was already on its side on top of Snow and the goose, started to like move a little.  I saw that a huge porcupine was climbing vertically up the far side of the wire screening that is  the top that holds the grain.  He just got to the top edge when two bears came in from the left and started feeding near the thermometer where the bird feeder usually falls.  By now the porky was on the upper edge of the sideways table on a little 2 x 2 and the table is rocking with his weight.  He looked down at those bears.  They looked back at him.  He quickly went down the far side of that screen and ran, or waddled, quickly off into the dark.  One bear went off in that direction after a while.  The other bear is still eating corn off the ground near mother goose's head.
Thanks Cal for telling me the reason for "no Driving".  I have been wondering why not for many years.  Joan was told that, so she did not drive until the rehab lady made fun of her for having me bring her to rehab after a few days.
Then a few years later when my turn came they told me the same thing.  "No driving" until doctor says so.  Well I never figured out why  until now.  You explained that it was due to being on narcotics and not being alert enough. No one had ever told us that.  They just said NO!  We did not have narcotics.  We had 3000 mg of tylenol and Meloxicam.
Now I will say GN GBU EV1

5:30 on puzzle.  Thanks Cal.  Nice to see you.  You are a little better, but BETTER! YAY!
My ears are ringing a little less too. LOL!
Did not look at birds yet.  Been trying to read the paper.  Vision makes it very slow going for me.
Bye for now EV1 GBU all.

5:45 ??  Finally did it.  God gloomy day to be inside here.  Not good at the Derby either. Too wet.  Hats will wilt.
Been trying to get low budget gas and electric all day.  Got gas done with Debbeis help, but we could not do electric today.  Getting rid of Xoom energy.
Debbie liked the side eye of the dog shame.  Me too.
Bye for now EV1.  Saw lots of good eagle baby stuff today.  No bears though.  Maybe later.

Hi EV1 ,  It's almost 12 here.  Looked at snow.  Bears have been and gone with the feeder.  Table is crooked and Snowman has lost his head.  No horses got hurt in the Derby.  TYG.
I will say CUL EV1 GBU and Good night.
