Cal, so sorry about your schoolhouse! Glad to hear the tv's can still use it. Sounds like a very scary storm and I'm so happy you are ok. What a summer! I'll be so happy when it's over. Watched Hyacinth this morning...she and Richard were going to Carldon Hall, one of those country mansions she likes to tour. She likes to go there to soak up culture. She wishes that people thought she was born into the candlelight supper society! Daddy thinks he is Captain Midnight!  Our car is a pearlized white. I got to pick which color I wanted. Hard decision to make! Can't believe I ended up choosing white! But it's so pretty. I've only driven it when we test drove it! That car is smarter than me! It's going to take me awhile to get use to it!  The doctor looked at Crow's back yesterday and it was still negative so she says his problem isn't caused by allergies. He has hand/foot dermatitis and she wants him to get the ultra violet light therapy. So Monday he has to call the local dermatologist and talk to him about it. After the dr visit we went to the hall of fame! I got to see the Beatles actual drum set, John's guitar and Paul's suit! You know the one without the collar! We spent over 3 hours looking at all the displays. Saw some sail boats and huge ships out in the lake. We had a nice time. On the way home we passed a horrible wreck in the north bound lanes. It had traffic on that side backed up for miles. On our way up there Monday we passed a bad wreck right up ahead of us. Two cars apparently merged into the middle lane at the same time and boom. They both went spinning. Crow said it looked like a NASCAR wreck. Then on the way home Wednesday, driving our new car, a big rig truck blew a tire ahead of us! Pieces of tire went flying all around us! I don't know how we didn't get hit but we didn't. I'm done driving on I 77 for awhile. Almost forgot...Crow's tattoo is a unicorn! Robin picked it out about 25 years ago! I call it his "sissy" tattoo! Lol! Not very manly looking! Lol!

Nora, our old truck is a 2002 navy blue Chevy Silverado. It's been a good truck. It's weird driving a car after being use to at truck. Crow says no dogs in the new car, they have to ride in the truck.

Blschue, bet you are relieved to have those pics done! That was a lot of work. Have a good time with your sis and brother! Hope he shows up!

Ra, darn it, a crown! Really miss you! Hope the cold is better!

Hi Eaglette, Jp, Obsver and Willi!

Dlong, hope you were safe from those storms! How you doing?

Daily Updates
Tasha - UPDATE August 27, 2016
27 August 2016
Print Email
Sharon tells it best. ?Epic! Tasha made her second appearance near the falls. I looked toward the deck, only 1 person. It was 12:07pm. I was just explaining to a full house about Behind-The-Scenes. Colleen and cubs
Colleen and cubs
I noticed they were distracted by a bear. I thought at first it was Holly but quickly realized it was Tasha. She ate some grass above the falls and then stepped on the flat rocks to drink from the falls. The whole event only lasted 45 seconds but it was a break-through. Tasha then moved behind her pen and waited for Holly to leave. Holly chased her 3 times. Then a black flash as Tasha made it to her pen. Both Tasha and Holly were rewarded. I'm so proud of my girl bears.?

An email from a visitor of a few days ago gives some perspective: ?Tasha, the little imp, hid during our visit on Wednesday, but Ted, Lucky, and Holly were all visible during our visit to the back. For our family, it was a Mission Accomplished. All three great grandkids are now in love with bears. Amazing how the misinformation is out there. On the way to Ely, 12-year-old Jaydon told us how scary and vicious black bears are. Teachable moment. Three captive youngsters got a fairly long lesson on black bears. What a great visit!?

Red-breasted nuthatch watches gull

Out the window at WRI, a red-breasted nuthatch looked up at an incoming herring gull that was hungry for bologna. Later, Colleen?s cubs (Dawn, Luna, and Mary) relaxed for dinner, knowing their 13-year-old mother keeps a watchful eye. Colleen chases big bears away but is relaxed with people here. Colleen is the daughter of Donna, granddaughter of Blackheart, and great granddaughter of Shadow.

Thank you for all you do.

Cal
I cannot tell you the terror I felt as you transitioned from car colors to the terrible bee sting incident in your post.
We are so very lucky to have you here.  Please do all you can to take better care of yourself.  So many depend on you being able to get around.  Not the least of which is Jim.  So lucky he was home, and so able to help you.
I am guessing the worst part for you was puking in your new car.
I am going to take a chance now that you are better, and say LOL on that being worse than your not being able to see or talk or walk.
I know I speak for us all when I say may God Bless and keep you.

cal,  I just read your description of your bee stings.  How horrible that whole episode must have been for you.  JIm's actions very probably saved what could have been disastrous.  I sincerely hope you have a minimum of residual affects from it.  My prayers go out for you.

Oh my goodness Cal.  I cannot believe what I was just reading.

I have to tell you that last evening I had this feeling that made me feel like I had to pray for someone special.  I had no idea who was needing His healing hand, but the feeling was so strong.  As you can see early this Sunday morning, I found the need to post to this forum thread a lil prayer for the Lord to bless my on-line friends. Amen and to have a blessed Sunday.   Now reading your adventure of yesterday, well I guess my thoughts were with you!   I just don't know what this thread would be like without you; and I don't want to find out either ... you hear that Cal.  Be careful.  None of us are spring chickens anymore.

Don't drink that crap the dentist told you not to drink either.  Try some coconut water and see if you like it over ice.  Or add some citrus fruit into a pitcher and smash that stuff down before you fill it with some water.  That is better than all those chemicals they put into the soda drinks to make you want to stay addicted to drinking them and lining their corporation's pockets with your hard earned money.

Okay, I get a lil cranky when I get scared and when I read all that has been posted here, well my heart was racing and I got all scared for you.

Hello to everyone else.  Jo, I felt the same way you did.  Nice to see your post, join us more often if you like.  Hi Ra, I bet you wanted to be able to post like something else too.

Now, go have a Blessed Sunday.  That's an order, JP, you too.

Rues I had a navy blue '98 Silverado, never should have sold it, I really miss it.  On top of it the guy that bought it goes by here a lot, sigh.  Wow those accidents on your freeway :(  Are they called freeways in your area?  Didn't your hubby have more allergy testing to have done or maybe that was an older post I saw.

I saw a video on facebook of one of the Lathrop tornadoes Cal.  That's close enough to you, you didn't need them any closer. :-\

Blschue that's been quite the project you have/had with all those pictures!!

Wow did you have an experience Cal!  Poor Jim!  That was a good idea to call like that and hook you up with an ambulance.  That dog shame dog (that poops on sandcastles) is sure a cute dog.

Cal, thank God Jim was there for you! I don't know what I would do if something happened to you! Please, please take care of yourself! Your family needs you, as do all the Jewelies!
