Good Night to some and Good Morning to others!

Hi JP.  You have some of the nicest bear gifs and I thank you for having all the bear photos, especially including their names when identified.  Today's lil bear was a real cutie!  That's what they look like without those big teeth!!  I sure hope things will start to warm up for you soon.  In the mean time, invest in an electric blanket or a heating pad.  I use two myself.  One I wear like a cape that has a back massager in it along with heating pad.  The other goes at the foot of my bed and keeps my feet and legs warm.  No disrespect to you by that earlier puzzle comment of mine.  I just wanted you all to know that I actually attempt to beat the clock when doing the puzzles posted and that is as fast as I can get them finished.  I really am a slow one.  Don't pick me for your puzzle team  LOL

Hi Ra.  I sure do hope you only get one inch of snow, not 10 inches!   I sure would not enjoy sitting in a home without utility services.  I hear you can put a candle under two inverted clay flower pots and that it would give off some heat.  Youtube has videos on it.  Or maybe you can sit in your car and turn the heat on to warm up a bit.  Wishing you a milder snow hit.

Hi Nora.  That press #1 really frosts my a$$ too.  Mad me upset just to read you print it!

Hi Obsver!

Hi Rues!

Hi Cal.  Glad to hear that you got some sister time in today.  Sounds like it was a bit easier to manage the farm/stables today for you.  You asked how my Dad was doing.  He and my Mom stopped by today and both were looking mighty fancy.  :D

I have nothing new to report here.  The weather was wonderful today.  There is some rain expected in the general area for Saturday, but I am not sure how that will play out for our town.  Looks like there will be eaglets starting this Saturday at the Ft Myers nest with Harriet and her new mate, M15.  I am looking forward to watching some new peeps.  I sure hope the weather settles down for Florida.

Jewelies, have a wonderful Friday!    8)

Holly right after she arrived at the Bear Center.

I was so comfortable that I did not want to get up this morning.

Honey, Lucky, Holly - UPDATE January 21, 2016

Holly in her den 11/3/14
Holly in her den 11/3/14
Honey was plainly visible last night as she moved around in her Chalet in the infra-red light while mice scampered near the entrance https://www.facebook.com/toni.embree.50 /videos/1171909952841633

Today, 4 mice were visible with one of them climbing a balsam fir tree. The most arboreal of our mice is the Woodland Deer Mouse (Peromyscus maniculatus) that has a long tail. It moved too fast on the tree for me to see the tail, though. https://www.facebook.com/toni.embree.50 /videos/1171886476177314

In Lucky and Holly?s peaceful den, Holly went to the entrance to eat snow like Honey did yesterday. It took Lucky a minute or two to get moving, but he managed to take back his spot on the far side of the den that Holly took from him some time ago. Holly pragmatically settled into the bed Lucky abandoned. It didn?t look like there were any harsh words. Part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EhhodEcZ8o
Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBr9QfroFkU

Speaking of dens, this picture of Holly (November 3, 2014) in the wild den she made her second winter here is a candidate for the upper wall over the viewing area windows where the four ambassador bears will be featured.

Thank you for all you do.

Hi Jewelies!  Just checking in... Temps are around 32o, and it's been raining and sleeting on and off.  No snow yet, but that's supposed to start later.  Now they're saying 1-5", so that's better than 10 inches!  The wind has started kicking up, bad if we get the ice they are calling for.  My son-in-law called me this morning to tell me that it's like a winter wonderland at their house and their tv/phone/internet is off.  I bet my daughter is fit to be tied!  She's a tv junkie.   :)  They still have power, so that's good.  They'll be warm, but bored.

cal... Yay!  I found the dog!  Thanks for confirming!  I saw it's nose... bigger than the rest.   :)  So glad Polly made it home ok.  When I was young, I used to get nose bleeds like that.  Had my nose cauterized when I was in high school and that took care of the problem.   Don't put your head back, hold your head forward and pinch the bridge of your nose.  In the wintertime my nose would get dry and crack and bleed.  Hope you don't have any more.  Maybe try putting a little vaseline or neosporin in your nostrils...

I can hear it's sleeting now...

Have a good day, Jewelies!

Hi Jewelies! Snow started coming down around 12:30 this afternoon. They predict 4 to 8 inches. Being an optimist, I'm looking at 4 or less! The mountains are expecting 24 to 36 inches! The ski resorts are loving it because the season didn't have a very good December with all those nice warm temperatures! Lots of businesses are shutting down now that the roads are getting bad. Schools were already cancelled last night. Thank goodness Robin is in town today. Yesterday she had a couple hearings in that very rural county about an hour away. She said the roads were horrible there yesterday so I'm sure they are impassable today! Guess it's time to bring that snow shovel out of the garage!

Cal, glad that Polly got back safely last night. I hate to drive at night. Too many deer and the oncoming headlights hurt my eyes! The house is rumbling! A city snow plow just roared by! It shook the whole house!! :D I think a farm hand would be a wonderful idea! Do you think there's someone around you could hire?  Robin and I both get nose bleeds this time of year. Our Doctor says it happens because of the dry heat in our houses. She says to use nose sprays. Nope, I don't like to squirt stuff up my nose! Crow was going to drive Robin to work yesterday morning but our truck wouldn't start! The battery was dead as a door nail! Called Triple A to come jump it and then Crow drove to the Advanced Auto store. Since it was still under warranty they put a new battery in free of charge. Now the truck is good as new! Sort of! :D I accidentally bought a vegetarian box of Jiffy at my Walmart. Couldn't tell any difference in it when I made muffins with it. I always buy vegetarian foods like, vegetarian refried beans, when I can find them.

Ra, luckily we didn't have any sleet or ice before this snow started. Yesterday afternoon  the sun came out and warmed things up. It was so pretty out. It was hard to believe that this monster storm was heading our way! Hope you and your daughter don't lose your power. Hope we don't qeither! You know I'm a tv junkie, too! Lol! I'll pass on the shrimp! Lol!  Stay safe!

Obsver, I thought after I shovel my walk and drive way, I might as well head down to Ra's and shovel hers since she doesn't have a snow shovel! Lol! I wonder how the roads are headed that direction! Lol!

Hi Jp, Nora, Eaglette and Deb!

Hi rues!  Just wanted to tell you to wait a little while before you come down here to shovel... the snow hasn't started yet... still freezing rain, but it's still 32o and it's not sticking to the trees.  It looks like it has snowed here, but it's all the freezing rain piling up.  The road looks pretty slippery.  I went out to the mailbox and took little baby steps, so I wouldn't fall.  I made some bread today, got up in the middle of the night to start it raising, and already ate my leftovers from last night, just in case the power went out before I got to eat it.  lol  I hope you don't even get those 4 inches of snow.  Sure wish I would hear from my daughter... must not have phone service yet.

Ra, I'd like a piece of warm bread and butter please! That sounds so good! Yumm. That freezing rain is the worst and so dangerous to walk or drive on! Glad it hasn't caused the trees or power lines to snap. Hope your daughter's phone isn't out to long. I know the feeling wanting to hear from her. You guys need walkie talkies or Ham radios!  We were worried about Robin earlier with the streets getting so bad. She finally called half hour ago. All the courts closed early so she's home safe and sound. She said since there wasn't any cars on her street she practiced stopping and starting in the snow. Trying to get a feel for how her car handles in the snow. She really likes all wheel drive. I didn't see The Blacklist last night so I'm going to watch it online. Did you see it?  Stay inside and stay safe! That's what I'm going to do! Let me know when you get snow and me and my snow shovel will travel!  :D

Cal, yep, Robin already heard about the Star Wars delay. She said it kinda made her mad! Wonder why the battery light has been on that long? Is it stuck on? Lol! You'd think with it being on that long by now the battery would be dead! :o  I don't know much about gas. All I know is put it in the tank and go! Does all gas have alcohol in it except the alcohol free kind? There's a lot of stuff I don't know! Lol!

Ra, going to go  look at your puzzle! Those polar bears of Cal's were difficult! I had a hard time figuring out those bears besides looking for the dog! :D

It's been interesting watching the storm chasers yesterday and today.  There are five out in D.C. today and right now I have the one in Tennessee on.  The red circles are guys that are streaming, just click on it.  To the right of how many viewers is a black bubble deal and it will bring up chat for the chaser you have open.  Sometimes when you see where a chaser is before you open it if two are real close together you need to zoom in to see the dot enough to click on it.

Everyone stay safe that is in any of this bad weather.

Is your house dry Cal?  That can make for bloody noses.

Cal, I only found the dog because you circled it! Lol! Talked to my younger sis today. She went to see Star Wars just the other day. She hopes like you that with the rewrite you know who somehow comes back! :D We got a bunch snow out there and it's still coming down! A lot more than 4 inches! :o I shoveled around 5 and it was easy to do because it's the light fluffy stuff. Hoping what comes overnight stays light and fluffy! There goes that snow plow again! Our town does a great job keeping our streets clear. Have a great night and see you tomorrow!

Nora, thanks for the link!

Good Evening and Good Morning Jewelies!

This is such a beautiful fabric art which I found on www.amazingquiltsbygrace.com   Grace Errea is the designer/quilter.
She is just spectacular.

Hope you all in the snow are not having to shovel your way out your front door ;-)

This is Donna a  couple of years ago.

Our weather is windy and rainy, really lousy, but I am so happy to have that instead of all the snow and ice so many of you are having to put up with.

Prayers, good wishes and positive thoughts got out to you.
