The video of Sweets with the cookie was cute! Adorable face!

76 here with 77% humidity at almost noon.

I hope your computer trouble gets squared away JP!

Eaglette I like your border jumper.

Hello Jewelies

Looks like everyone is hot, so I am not going to complain about Cali heatwave.  Does not look like there will be much cooling for August either.  So, I must find something good about the heat.  Best to look at the glass half full instead of half empty.  Hard to get too excited about that when that glass is being filled with SWEAT.   lol

I encourage you to make this delicious cool-downer, no matter how much you make.

Fill your glass half full with crushed ice, or cubes if no crushed is available.
Cover the ice with coconut water at least one inch above the ice line.
Add 2-3 jiggers of coconut milk

Pour it into a blender or Bullet blender cup and blend until smooth.

I like to add my liquid vitamin and liquid Co-Q10 before blending for extra flavoring.  The more ice you add, the more you believe it is ice cream.  Sometimes, I add frozen banana, frozen mango or frozen blueberries to my mix to give it a whole different taste.  Any frozen fruit will do, I think.  Like it sweeter, add some honey.  Need extra protein in your diet, then add some protein powder before blending.

Despite its name, coconut milk is quite different from dairy milk. It's high in fat, but it's also cholesterol-free and rich in many nutrients. Because it's not derived from the milk of animals, coconut milk is lactose-free and can be a perfect alternative for people pursuing a lactose-free diet.

Now that is a positive good eats on a hot summer day! The time it takes to make it and to enjoy it, gives you plenty of time to cool down a bit too.  Enjoy.

gosh Cal, I am really wanting to ride a lawn mower myself.  I always loved the smell of fresh cut grass.  As a kid, we had a powered motor lawnmower that I had to push across the lawn.  I remember fondly making all kinds of design cuts each time a different one.  Dad said since it was sod, we had to change the way the grass blades laid each time to keep the sod more connected.  Who knows, maybe he just wanted me to get out of their way for hours on end and stay out of trouble with my girl friends.  lol

If I could teleport myself to your place right now, I would mow that lawn for you.

Cal, love your pics and videos! Like Nora said, it helps us see exactly what you are talking about! That insulation installation looks like quite a job! But it will be well worth it in the end. Sweets eating his cookie and wanting another! How cute! Soda and Rose are so pretty! I think you have the best fed raccoons!

Jp, hope you get your computer problem fixed quickly!

Eaglette, funny border jumper! Lol! Canada geese are a real problem around here. They use to all migrate but now lots stay here year round. I like them and don't have a problem with them at all but folks with ponds and lakes hate them and their mess. Your drink recipe sounds pretty good. I'll have to give it a try!

Nora, thanks for the eagle map info!

Faith.

I am back in operation.  The problem stemmed from a dead mouse.  Somehow it just stopped working.  I spent over two hours with a remote tech thinking it was something about the computer itself.  Buying a new mouse solved the problem.  Now I will catch up on the forum posts.

Stayed up late last night watching the DNC.  At noon I watched the Marlins beat the Phillies 11-1.  It was a special game because th e Commissioner of baseball was present to announce the Marlins as host of the 2017 All Star Game.

Special wishes for all to have a Thursday that will leave all contented.

Daily Updates
Tasha, Holly, Wildlife Reunions - UPDATE July 27, 2016
27 July 2016
Print Email
Tasha and Holly were being friendly through a fence today after weeks of nervous body language. Tasha also ate food through the fence a foot from Ted. She did it after a little nervous hesitation. Big Harry
Big Harry
Ted was making his friendly sounds toward people at the moment. He paid no attention to Tasha. Lucky is still a problem toward her. Plans are to let Tasha begin exploring the big enclosure soon.

At the Wildlife Research Institute, it was Q&A night for the Bear Center Interns this evening. Among the bears stimulating questions were Big Harry and Loppy. With his beat-up face and ears shortened by too many bites, he might be the bravest bear here?or the most foolish. He takes on bears bigger than him and has the face to show it.

Loppy
Loppy
It was a great time with the interns. We want to give them all the experience we can. Some of them intend to come back next year, which is the biggest compliment we could get. They become ever more valuable, along with the volunteer Bear Educators who gain similar experience and return year after year.

We got a notice today that a program named Wildlife Reunions is airing on BBC2 in England at 8 PM UK time (2 PM bear time), which means it has already aired. One of the photos about the program had a picture of me, so I suspect this is the episode that contains a couple minutes that they filmed here last year. Maybe it is scheduled to re-play.

Thank you for all you do.

Hi, Jewelies! We had a very little respite from the heat, but it and the humidity are building up again. Boy, cal, you could use some cool days so you can rest from your heroic battle to keep your family comfortable!!! Nora, you were discussing how movies get changed fom the book: When Stephen King was asked many years ago if changes in his books bothered him, he replied that he laughed all the way to the bank. I sometimes wonder if the executives in these movie studios think the movies will have more box office appeal if changes are made. Same way for casting. A lot of talented people get passed over for the bigger celebs, too. Tom Cruise, who is very, very short was cast as Reacher, and in the book, the guy is really tall & muscular. Not believable if you've read all the series. Truthfully, I'd rather read the book than see the movie. My daughter & grand get back Sat.--then, back to the real world of work, etc. Rues, did you tell her to cut your hair shorter, or are you kinda afraid she'll go too far? Some would. Hi, all the rest of you Jewelies!
