Wow, James Spader looked really good way back then! But then, I did, too! :D

Cal, I know that Hyacinth episode! Was the dog's name Chloe or Zoe? I watched an episode yesterday morning but I can't remember what it was about! :o  I must be losing my marbles!  That will drive me crazy now until I can remember that episode! :D  Your cold temps are coming here! It's supposed to be 8 degrees overnight and then a high 17 tomorrow! But not much snow...an inch or less. Good grief El Nino bring back my warm winter! That's a nice heated water bowl. You treat all animals very well! Cool article about the wolves!

Jp, I saw that blank square and I thought, oh no, something is screwed up,again! Then I clicked on and saw what it was. That was a some puzzle!  Weird weather for sure! Hope those tornadoes stay far away from you!

Eaglette, you are so sweet! Glad that you are posting with us! :) I prefer your temps!

Ra, what is it with people that don't show or even call to say they aren't coming? That happens time after time around here. Apparently people don't need money!  I'm doing the same thing as you...making yard work easier for myself as I age!  :D You must have inspired me because last night as I watched tv in the bedroom, I cleaned out and straightened up my dresser drawers and threw out stuff I no longer wear! I actually found a full slip that hasn't been worn in years! :o Then this morning I cleaned out the bathroom linen closet! One shelf holds all medicine and toiletries. I found stuff that was 3 years expired! Purging does make one feel better! :D

Obsver, I have yet to bring my snow shovel out of the garage! Haven't got the salt pellets out yet either! Hoping they get to spend the entire winter in the garage! :D Knock on wood!  You treat your outside kitties good, too, just like Cal does her outside critters! Thanks for the book recommendation to Crow. I'll tell him. He's always up for a good book!

Hi Nora and Willie!

Don't forget Downton tonight! There's a new show afterwards called Mercy Street. It's about doctors and nurses during the Civil War. Sounds like a good one.  Yikes, it's snowing. Boooooo!

This is what it seems to be, for me, with the circles.  I present this to cal in good humor.  I worked it, believe it or not, but won't tell my time.

Hi Cal ...  In a place full of avid sports fans, I hate to tell you that Larry couldn't care less about the various games.  He loves the Olympic games though, and will watch some of that.

I like James Spader in 'White Castle' that he did with Susan Sarandon.  Right now, I just finished watching 12 seasons of NCIS on Netflix, and have just started into 5 seasons of Blue Blood with Tom Selleck.  I just love Tom Selleck!  I guess next will be Black List since you all see to like it ... so I will see what it is all about.

Rues ...  you have the oldest sister can't stand the youngest in your family ... well, I have four daughters (2 daughters - a son - and 2 more daughters)  Anyway, neither of the two oldest can stand the youngest one, and daughter number 3 is just trying to stay out of it.  It made for the Christmas from hell this year.  I think next year I will pack a turkey sandwich and go have my dinner out in the desert.  lol!    Family!  shish!!   >:(  :-\

Cold, Jewel, and Treadwell - UPDATE January 17, 2016

Faith on Hope - July 12, 2012
Faith on Hope - July 12, 2012
While driving to work with the temperature at 23? below zero, I hoped Jewel would wait until January 22nd to give birth. That?s the morning she gave birth to Fern and Herbie in 2012 when temperatures were rising from 6? below zero to 20? above zero http://www.bearstudy.org/website/updates/daily-updates/1517-cubs-born-at-722-and-840-am-.html . The forecast for this year is for temperatures to remain above zero day and night from January 21 through at least January 26 with the high on January 22 being 18?F. Temperatures for the 4 days after that are as high as 29?F to give the cubs a comfortable start.

Another candidate for the upper wall in the Bear Center is this picture of Faith initiating play with big sister Hope. Before Faith and Jason were born, no one knew what mixed-age litters did. Did the mother allow the yearling to interact with the newborn cubs? Did she allow the yearling to nurse along with them? We saw that Hope was actually nursing when the new litter was born. (http://www.bearstudy.org/website/updates/daily-updates/1167-the-cubs-are-born-.html) We saw the cubs bond with Hope?perhaps more closely than with mother Lily who nursed them. We saw them all share Lily?s milk. We wish the story could have continued beyond September 16, 2011, a date we will always remember.

Following up on your questions about Tim Treadwell and Amie Huguenard being killed by a brown bear on October 5, 2003, the first such killing in the history of Katmai National Park, a lot of information is in these three pieces by John Rogers (no relation) at http://www.katmaibears.com/timothytreadwell.htm and in this piece at http://www.yellowstone-bearman.com/Tim_Treadwell.html. I can say that in my 11 trips to that area (1996-2006), I never felt the least bit threatened. From my talks with Tim, he never had a problem either. He loved and respected the bears he knew. The killer may not have been a bear he knew, given that big bears can take food away from smaller bears and that a nearby bear-viewing camp had seen many new bears coming from the interior in that year that they reported to be a poor salmon run. I wish Animal Planet had followed through on the idea to have me host the program about his life and death. Instead, the final story became the movie ?Grizzly Man,? which I thought sold Timothy short.

Thank you for all you do.

I took my time and petted those kitties for 6:11.   ;D

Slow start for me today tooooo.  I am just having my first cup of Decaf Coffee.  I say, if the sun doesn't want to come out to play, why should I.

Looked at the bushy tailed cat and daughter for 5:23.  Looks as if Ra did it in 2:47.  I still think she has  a defective clock.

I think reading your entry this morning made me too tired to participate in any activities I had planned for myself.   You are Wonder Woman in my book!   I think God must change out your Everready batteries every time you sit down to take a poop, cause that is about the only time you actually stop in the day ;-)   (at least I reckon you stop for that !)
