Wolf and Fisher, but no Bears - UPDATE November 30, 2024

Wolf passing through
After not seeing a wolf for nearly two months, a wolf paid a quick teaser visit by just cruising through.

Yesterday the fisher I haven’t seen for a couple weeks paid a visit—and again this morning. It was the male with the big chest blaze posing for a good ID picture. That was enough to have Donna jump in her car late this afternoon hoping to see him. She was rewarded but I don’t know if it’s him or a new one. The quick picture was too dark, almost black. Photoshop brightened it to what we have here, which makes me think even more that it’s a different one. It showed us one thing, though, he (?) can open his mouth wide for thanksgiving leftover. I hope the good big treat will be enough to bring him or her back for a better look.

Dark-eyed junco

Now after a snowless fall up until a few days ago, the recent snow apparently urged a dark-eyed junco to live up to his nickname, ‘snowbird.’ We’ll probably get pictures of more juncos with better detail here soon.
Thank you for all you do. Saying that makes me grateful all over again for what you did for GiveMN and the intern building.
