Update on Mom Decorah, DM2 and at least one Eaglet!
Decorah Eagles - May 5, 2024
A Big Thank You! to our Boots on the Ground Larry Bellrichard & Cindy Bellrichard for this Wonderful News & Update! ❤
Today was the first time we saw mom sitting high on the backside of the nest instead of being barely visible in the bowl. So we decided to watch her for a while and within five minutes I saw a bobble head standing up. I would estimate it to be slightly smaller than the eaglets at the North Nest. I was hoping to see another bobble head or two but did not. A little later DM2 took off from his perch in a lookout tree which is about a hundred yards away from the nest. Mom followed about a half minute later. We then saw the bobble head stand up again and again it was just the one.
I can see why people will sometimes spend hours with their cameras aimed at the nest waiting for some action. It was exciting. 🙂
We watched a while longer figuring that some food may be on its way and the action would be informative. Well DM2 finally returned to his perch tree and Mom returned to a branch just below the nest with no food. We watched a little while longer and nobody was moving. We will probably check them out again tomorrow. Kind of wish we had a camera to record these guys.🙂👍

Thanks Cal.  That is good news on Decorah bobble head.
I did 5:57 on the hippy VW bus.
Seems the driver is a dog lover.  She hopes dogs don't get sick from eating her lunch. In her truck! LOL.
Nothing to report from Debbie or Karen.  Lizzie and Annie are Bonnie's daughters.  Bonnie and Joan were BFF from junior high school until now.  Our families were very close.  I mean Sunday afternoon and most Holidays close.  Bonnies kids all call me "uncle".  Lizzie is my Goddaughter.  She lives in Texas.
Yes fish were happy.  They got to swarm around and gobble up the bread without any fear,  except for the bigger fish that came for bread too. LOL  I saw some really big carp , catfish, and bass.  All seemed happy to see me.  I went to lunch at the Hungry Bear in Litchfield.  It was more breakfast than lunch, but it suited me fine.
Nice out today again.  Took a ride to the mailbox on my electric scooter just to try it out.  I don't need it any more, but I like to keep it charged up and functional in case someone does need it.  Joan bought it from our friend Rita, because Rita's paralyzed husband , Paul, kept taking trips out on the rural roads near us.  One day we saw him returning from a trip to the BMV.  It is about 2 miles away, and all country roads.  Very dangerous for a man who could not talk or walk.  He wanted to try to get his drivers license renewed.  Rita was away at the time.  Later when Joan told her we saw Paul coming back, she said please buy that scooter.  End of story.
Bye now EV1 GBU and all those sufferring today.

A funny and true story about the Queen:
Around 2005, the Queen and her Personal Protection Officer, Dick Griffin, were walking alone one afternoon in the hills near the Scottish royal castle, Balmoral.
Two tourists approached them, and engaged in conversation. Griffin recalls:
"There were two hikers coming towards us, and the Queen would always stop and say hello.
"They were two Americans on a walking holiday.
"It was clear from the moment we stopped that they hadn't recognized the Queen, which was fine.
"The American gentleman was telling the Queen where they came from, where they were going next, and where they'd been in Britain.
"I could see it coming, and sure enough, he said to Her Majesty: 'And where do you live?'
"She replied: 'Well I live in London, but I've got a holiday home just the other side of the hills.'
"He said: 'How long have you been coming up here?'
"She replied: 'I've been coming up here ever since I was a little girl, so over 80 years.'
"You could see the cogs whirring, so he said: 'Well, if you've been coming up here for over 80 years, you must have met the Queen.'
"Quick as a flash, she said: 'I haven't, but Dick here meets her regularly.'
The hiker then asked Griffin what the monarch was like in person.
"Because I was with her a long time, and I knew I could pull her leg, I said: 'Oh, she can be very cantankerous at times, but she's got a lovely sense of humour.'
The next thing I knew, this guy comes round, puts his arm around my shoulder, and before I could see what was happening, he gets his camera, GIVES IT TO THE QUEEN, and says: 'Can you take a picture of the two of us?'
"Then we swapped places, and I TOOK A PICTURE OF THEM WITH THE QUEEN.
"And we never let on, and we waved goodbye.
"Afterwards, Her Majesty said to me: 'I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he shows those photographs to his friends in America, and hopefully someone tells him who I am'."
Rest in Peace Your Majesty

Paul was a very smart man.  He was an engineer at NASA in Cleveland until at age 40 he sufferred a terrible stroke that paralyzed his whole left side, and left him without speech.  He was a big man.  At least 6ft 6in tall, and normal build.  So about 225lbs I would guess. No he did not get his license. Rita his wife who took good care of him for about 45 years was a tiny lady of about 100 lbs.  They had five children before his stroke.  She raised them all, and got them all through college.  She was my hero, and a good friend to Joan.
Well I will leave off here and go have some tuna salad on italian, and some Van Camps old fashioned baked beans.  It has been several years, but I remember my mom would heat these up for us.
Bye now GBU.

6:56 Lots of double grabs.
Going to rain today, but not yet. Gray and breezy.  Need to go shopping today, because I got all the sale papers in the mail and with my paper.  I will buy multiples of things to get the good price.
Did not see anyone yesterday, and don't plan to today yet.
I did tell Karen I would go with her to buy a boxwood plant she wants, but I don't know when she wants to go.
Need to get rolling.  So I will say Thanks for being here, and CUL EV1 GBU, Israel, and Ukraine.
PS There is a baby TV this morning. Yay!  Very hard to get a look at it.  What a good Mom.

Very nice morning.  Quick violent storm last night at 8pm.  No real damage that I know of , but it was scary for Karen. Had to talk her through it.  She was visiting a sick friend all afternoon, and got in her drive way just as the storm hit.  It was dark and violent.  She has poor night vision, and is scared of storms.  So she was shook up.  All I could do at that point was talk her down which I did until the fast moving storm was past us and on it's way to Pittsburg.
Debbie was good, and she is fine this morning.
I did not look in on our babies yet. Was very pleased to get a tiny glimpse of the new TV baby.
I will go take a look now.  CUL EV1 GBU, Israel, and Ukraine.

Hi Ya"ll,
The horses look to be good citizens.  They carry away all their own waste.  I like that, and don't recall ever seeing it before.  My Granddaughter, Shannon ( Debbie's Daughter) will wave at me from in front of Sloppy Joes on the Duvall St. Cam on about the 31st.  She will also travel around the keys for a week or so.
I am going over to Karen's for dinner at 6:30.  So I need to start cleaning up.
Was another great day here today.  I did nothing, but watch TV all day.  I am just so tired all the time.
I did get to see the one day old TV.  The little feet are so precious.  Mom is excellent at shielding him from view while she feeds him.
Bye for now EV1.  Nice to see you all.  GBU and all who are sufferring.

hi you guys its 71 here but saw lighting earlier to the west and we are under another weather alert day big storms coming of course cant be a little one yes ryan that works at our water company came over and put in a new water spigot in the barn i was in the kitchen with the dogs and they were looking out the window barking and barking shut up bark shut up bark okay bark barking i heard machinery and cutting i thought oh no that huge bush that is next to the barn on the north side where my rabbits hide and birds getting cut down it is on the other side of that spigot in the barn. jim had put indy out in his pasture. and we cleaned up that area before ryan and his worker came. so when they left i went out and they only took off maybe a fourth of my bush it is smaller but still there offering shade and stuff. new spigot is great! weird after all this time to have water in the again. no more hauling it in for jim use to me for a long time. hauling out poop is enough.

hi joho nice to have my internet i need to work on our ac stuff jim putting one today for someone i use to watch that sloppy joe cam too when my niece jeanne went to key west she stood by the american flag at mallory square i had it up on my screen was watching that cam at the time and she told me about what time she would be there i got my phone and came in here and sure enough i saw her i called her and she waved i took a screen shot.  :) did you have a good dinner at karens last night i do okay most of the day but about 3 pm i get so very tired stumbly just worn out dont get up at 2 am every day some days its 3 but i hate that cause losing that one hour is hard so i try to not do that

hi paulie! yesterday i was telling indy wonder where paulie is at? he said who? so big hi to you! anytime now the raccoonies will be bringing in their kids so more mouths to feed. at first the moms are kinda rude to the kids you eat right there not here where i am eating then a month later kids are rude mom you eat way over there this is mine!!
