Don't see her now, but she is out and about.  I have to go try to see if TV is working.  Spent another hour on the phone with a lady in Texas this morning.  She said general outage.  Will call when fixed.  Got the call and while on the call same old problem happened.  Called them again, and they started their reboot as usual.  Now I have to go see if it is working.  Seems like I do more than they do.

Beacon ...  30:49    87°  (5:34 pm)    Sunny and windy.  Basically a decent day because of the wind and any shade you can find.  add water.

Hi everyone, I hope all is well.

I agree with both of you, what a pain it is to phone the Cable company and try to straighten out some problem you're having!  I have been putting it off, but I too have to call and see about the TV part of my package.   something is messed up in my service!

4:41  Good morning EV1.
Looks nice today.  45 degrees and very sunny.
No big plans today.  Debbie is back on Gramma duty.  So I won't see her. Mary is back from her Florida to New York to home trip, and I guess is working again.
Went to diabetic shoe doctor yesterday.  She said I have one shortened leg due to knee replacement.  So she put a little heel wedge in my right shoe.  She ordered me a new pair of shoes to be picked up in two weeks.  They are roomy, but kind of dressy.  I told her i was going to my nephew's wedding in June, so she steered me to the dressy model. LOL  The wedding will be about a four hour event.  The shoes will be worn for years. Like my other three pairs.
Did I tell you I got covid shot number 6. It is a Pfizer booster for elderly and at risk patients.  Feel good, but for a slight bruising feeling in shot location.
I think I will take a bike ride today if wind is not too strong.  Will have to dress warmly, but that is ok.
Now I will say so long for a while.  CUL EV1 GBU and GB Ukraine.

  Fife Windmill ... 28:57    84°  (4:55 pm)   Sunny w/ mild breeze.

Good afternoon, or evening ... I hope all is well with you.  I'm doing well enough.  Just pretty tired most of the time.

Not much going on around here.  It sounds like Maybe is your helper each day, Cal, keeping you company on your rounds.  She sounds like a lovely girl.

Moments of Interest - UPDATE April 26, 2023

Arriving at the Wildlife Research Institute at 4:38 AM to get a good undisturbed start, I looked up from my computer a half hour later to see this young raccoon watching me as we edged into the predawn light. I clicked. He or she heard the clicks, looked attentive, and then decided it was safe to go back to eating raw peanuts that had no shell. I was distracted the next 40 minutes or so, seeing what I’ve been missing by coming in at a more normal time. It was nice to see his or her reactions to me, to other sounds, and finally leaving when the first birds, a flock of juncos, arrived at 5:44 AM.

Pileated Pair
Pileated Pair

A little after 10 AM, the male pileated woodpecker landed. Then his mate flew in. I thought, how nice, they’re going to share. But then he (the one on the right) looked kind of possessive of the suet. She looked like she was asking permission to join him. Then, as if he suddenly remembered, “Happy wife, happy life,” he flew off and let her have the suet all to herself. I don’t know if she said thank you, or would say it later, but she hopped on top of the suet and pecked like she was hungry.

Pine siskin male
Pine siskin male

As the day wore on, I realized I wasn’t seeing any pine siskins or goldfinches. Was this 50° day with a gentle tail wind out of the south the day they were resuming their journey north? At 5:21 PM, this lone male appeared and I took his picture in case he was the last bird of his kind I was going to see this spring. A few minutes later, there were eight of them but no goldfinches. If they are on their way north, it’s going to be much different view out the window. Today it was mostly juncos and crows with the big head of a raven once peeking around the trunk of a tree to see if I was guarding the fox and raccoon food that remained. I was, and he flew off, although I wished he would come close and show me that he didn’t think of me as a mean guy.

Beaver
Beaver

Yesterday morning early, a nice sight was a beaver in water opening up at the outlet of Woods Lake eating a twig that it was holding in his or her left hand.

A bear has now been sighted only two miles away, but none here yet. That will be the moment!

Thank you for all you do,

hi neva Maybe is my helper outside where ever i am she is. she is such a good cat. sometimes she comes in the garage at night i turn on her bed for her fix her water and food but sometimes she wants to hang in her barn. i dont see her being a good inside cat she would hate the dogs and they would not know her and she is not fond of other cats and i got lots of them inside. but if i thought her life would be endangered being out i would bring her in. i mowed the dogs yard yesterday indy was out in his pasture watching me every time i made the turn at the end i would yell hi indy. scout fly overhead i mean really close i waved and blew him kisses stupid i know but i did it. and i watched the planes overhead. might get rain today i think indy is in today i have so much stuff i need to do inside today. 5:09 Second coffee getting cold. Gonna be a great day today after the frost dries up. Only 31 now, but sunny all day so won't be long to be dry.  Maybe I will go catch some catfish. I should do puzzle later, but I am addicted.

Tasha just went into the rock den. FYI  I have not seen Holley.  The last time I saw her she was sleeping at the cub tree base.

Honorat Monastery ... 33:11      89°  (4:42 pm)  Sunny and rather windy.

Hi Joho ... I hope you caught your catfish.  I should go catch some at the supermarket.  It has been a while.

Hi Cal ...  There's nothing stupid about your greetings and interactions with these animals, Scout included.  I admire your honesty.
