Cal, love your new avatar! Dr Rogers has me all mixed up now! Is that or is that not Clear? Time will tell. I hate the thought of any animal being trapped. Robin sent me a couple more pics. I'll have to post them later from my laptop. Still don't know how to do it on this iPad. They are now in Lapland and the Arctic Circle. There is snow and they went to Santa's Christmas village yesterday. Today they are hoping to see the Northern Lights. While she is gone Crow decided to work on her electric dryer. It's been squeaking for awhile. Good thing he decided to do that because that thing was just waiting to catch on fire! It needed some bearing thing replaced on the back of the drum. With the help of the internet he was able to accomplish that. It was what we found  inside of the dryer compartment...tons of lint! At one time the dryer vent hose must have been clogged. And all that lint backed up inside. I got all that cleaned out while Crow replaced the vent hose with a new one. Put the dryer back together, attached the new vent hose to the outside, turned the dryer on and it ran great! No more squeak! Only problem the dryer wouldn't shut off when the door was opened and the light wouldn't  come on! Needs a new door switch which takes a day to order it at the appliance repair shop.  It seems every time we do something a dozen other things pop up! Yesterday sis and I finally went to Walmart together! She is still dizzy so I drove! That was a first for us! She is a control freak and she prefers to drive. But her hubby told her she couldn't go if she drove. I figured she would complain about my driving but she held her tongue. She did comment when I dropped her off at her house that I drove faster than her! I hope she feels better tomorrow so she can drive. Congrats on your team's win!

Nora, love Chester's snow pics! He is so pretty!

Hi Jo and Lupe!

Ra, how you doing?

Have a nice day!

Streak - UPDATE January 21, 2020

Clever names made it hard to pick, but Streak describes Streak
Streak
his dribble down the middle and describes how he or she runs. In my confusion, this might actually be the original Clear, but the mink pictured as Clear in the Bear Center is the other Clear that I would love to see again?the one with the three dots across the chest like Orion?s Belt.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- weird night for me- watched some evening matches- went to bed- up at 1:30 AM to watch Serena. Novak, Serena, Roger and Coco Gauff won. Other Americans who won- tommy Paul, Tenys Sandgren, Sofia Kenin, Taylor Townsend, Allie Riske and Sam Querrey. I'm waiting for the Madison Keys match to start. I just hope ESPN2  carries it. They've gone over the 6AM end time for other matched so far.
Hubby has been putting ashes from the wood stove in the driveway and on my path to the bird feeder. Feel more confident walking out there now. I'm still careful though.
cal- we decided yesterday to get a new furnace in the summer. We decided to do it now since we are 74 and hubby may eventually have to give up cutting and hauling wood. We'll not use it the rest of this winter- hopefully no windy below zero days.

We visited bil in hospital yesterday- he is doing well- sort of. He was told he would need to be on I.V. antibiotics after he comes home so to get that service a move to an assisted facility has to be made. Luckily their son and daughter are working on that.  Not an easy time.

nora- I loved your hotos of Chester- such a happy boy.
Snow on the way here- 3 days worth but warm.
Have a great day jewelies!

Gone But Not Forgotten - UPDATE January 22, 2020

Precious Hope

Dear Hope, born January 22, 2010 was Lily?s firstborn of 15 cubs in 6 litters. Hope is the one who brought together many thousands to learn about bears and make a difference for them. Her loss on September 16, 2011 brought grief around the world, and her memory still brings tears to many. Her death was a tragic loss in many ways, but her legacy continues?some of it in the Hope Learning Center Classroom that was named in her honor. As I write this, 13-year-old Lily lives on in a den that she is sharing with her four 1-year-old cubs. I am hoping we can show the family on den cams later this winter. The 5-minute den cam video of Hope?s birth is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vckzJF-fEc.

Good morning everyone- warm here with about 1 to 2" of new snow after some rain to start. Such weird weather. Snow is done for the day with another round tomorrow. I wouldn't mind but we need to get sil to her appt. at 1:45 in the afternoon. We should get a diagnosis then.

Tennis just finished- Rafa won- he is so tough to beat. Americans Caty Bellis, Taylor Fritz and John Isner won. Noable on the doubles are Americans Sofia Kenin and her partner Bethany Matek-Sands. Bethany is a fav of mine because she wears knee socks and wacky colored hair. Plus she is now doing some commentary and she is good.
Tonight Serena plays at 8 PM with Novak right after. Coco plays at 2 AM with Roger after. Six more Americans on the schedule but times uncertain as always.

Iowa basketball won last night too.
cal- sounds like jim will be pretty busy in the days to come. Hopefully you won't get much more snow.

Have a great day jewelies!

Cal, so sorry about Jim's dad and Ron. When it rains it pours! Hope both men feel better soon. Jim has a lot of driving to do but that's what you do for family and friends. Hope the weather cooperates. We are just cold here with rain coming tomorrow. Maybe some snow flakes on Sunday just in time for Robin's flight home. The 2 Robin's have been busy. The day after Santa village where they sat with Santa, they visited an ice bar within an ice hotel, saw the Northern Lights, went on a 3 hour Polar Explorer cruise in an icebreaker ship where they donned survival suits and floated in the frigid waters of the Bothnian Sea! All this is too cold for me!
