Bob Anderson passed away at age 64 in a Decorah hospital.

I am deeply sorry to confirm that Bob Anderson passed away this morning. Out of respect for Bob and his family, we are asking that everyone respect their privacy. Official announcements will be made here and on Ustream in the days to come. Our deepest condolences to Bob's family.

Although Bob was very proud of his work with the Decorah Eagles, his heart was truly in his peregrine falcon recovery work. This video tells the story of his cliff work and was a special favorite: https://youtu.be/USQs4Bwxa18

The photo shows him on Great Spirit Bluff. It was one of his very favorites - he loved to be on rope - and is how many of us will remember him. Fly on, friend and mentor. We will never forget you.

Bob Anderson, Raptor Resource Project Director, dies unexpectedly
Tributes pouring in for Bob Anderson: a man dedicated to the outdoors
Posted: Jul 27, 2015 9:50 PM CDT
Very sad news out of the Decorah area as KWWL has learned that Bob Anderson, the longtime Director of the Raptor Resource Project, has died unexpectedly.

Several sources are confirming Bob's untimely death to KWWL.
We don't know exact details at this time, but, we're told Bob had not been feeling well recently.

Amy Ries of the Raptor Resource blog,raptorresource.blogspot.com also confirmed Bob's death on the official blog.

Amy says Bob's passion for the outdoors and endangered species is well documented, starting long before the Decorah Eagle Camera became an international sensation, with more than 300-million views, the most watched Live Stream ever.
Among his many passions was saving Peregrine Falcons. We'll let you know more as details become available.

Thank you for this thread Shep.

Bob and his work with the raptors has touched the lives of millions of people. His dream and research have helped to save so many raptors and will continue to do so by all of those who have learned so much from him.

The world has lost a true Ambassador of the Raptors.

Soar high and free Bob. <3 You will always be loved and remembered.

So many of us became aware of the raptors above us because of the RRP and Bob Anderson. Observing their secret life has enriched our lives and made us their guardians. Thank you Bob.

Bob taught us the importance of "looking up"... He'll be greatly missed, for sure.

Decorah eagle cam creator dies
The bald eagle has lost one of its dearest friends.
Bob Anderson, creator of the Decorah bald eagle cam on Ustream, died Monday.
July 28, 2015 -  kare11.com (television station)
Anderson wrote an email to the media just last week, lamenting a severe storm passed through Decorah, shearing off the tree branch that held the eagle's nest.

"We are all glad the three eaglets are accounted for," he wrote.

Although he was known for the eagles, "his heart was truly in his peregrine falcon recovery work," according the resource center's Facebook post, which included a photograph of Anderson dangling from a bluff: "He loved to be on rope ? and is how many of use will remember him. Fly on, friend and mentor. We will never forget you."

Randy Shaver featured Bob Anderson in a KARE 11 Extra in 2012.
