Yup, me too, about seeing the N1 family at the Retention Pond.  The rewind found adult geese in the creek, but I didn't see goslings.

After midnight, a raccoon or two raided the N1 nest, eating the unhatched egg and eggshells left from yesterday.  Early this morning, several geese visited the nest and loudly and actively competed for occupancy rights.  Is it too late for a new clutch of eggs here?  Watch and see!

;D ;D lots of goose drama on N1 this morning

BE pair arrived early morning at bluff perch, they both headed off in the direction of N1, but one landed in the tree in front horse pasture (looked like the male), and the other flew off to the right of view.  The one in tree left and headed in the same direction a few minutes later.  One returned to the tree later morning, and then flew out to the lower bluff tree.

Lisa, lovely pics of eagles this morning.  Wonder if they are searching for a new nest site for next season.

Thank you, STL  :)

It would be nice to have them back on this side of the bluffs.

Yes, for sure within camera range for a new eagle nest!

Several deer grazed in the horse pasture about 6:00 AM.
A goose has been trying out N1 this morning.
Two geese were on top of the bluffs about 9:00, and an eagle perched in a mid-bluff tree at the same time.

Hatch watch at N2B goose nest starts tomorrow, maybe we'll have Easter Goose goslings.
Has anyone seen the N1 family since jump day?

STL - I think the CG's from "our nests" usually keep the goslings in the calmer deep pools of Trout Creek downstream from the road bridge for a few days and then escort them across Trout Run Road to the Retention Pond to continue their gosling socialization education.  8)

Of course by the time that happens we really have no way of knowing who is really who.   :)   ;)

Oddly I've seen no geese at all around the Retention Pond lately .. that will probably change soon however.  ;D
