Lisa, lovely pics, and it's so good to see HM and HD with a new nest nearer-by.

Any info on what happened to the nest they built out of sight for the RRP cameras, and any eggs that were laid?

I have not seen RRP mention what could have happened, but I do have a friend who went to Decorah a week after we started seeing them building N6.  He said, the nest on other side of the bluffs was still there.  So, not sure what happened.

At one point, Lisa, didn't someone post snaps of Bluff with white puffy heads peeking out?

Morning pics from Decorah - HD was on the lower bluff tree this morning and HM arrived on N6 tree.  At one point she was in a heraldic pose.  The one gosling family, looking cute.

HM is so beautiful perching in the N6 tree, and that blue sky is perfect background.

HM or HD has been perching at the N6 tree.  And geese are feeding on the banks and in the high, rapid creek.  Turkey vultures perched in dead trees, I believe at the far end of the N1 bluffs, out towards the antenna tower.

Great pics, STL  :)

It was cool to see the geese families hanging out together this morning.

Lisa, yes, very cool.  Near noon today, the larger goose family took a walking path across the field and emerged near the eagles' fishing corner.  The N1 family followed the same path a bit later.

The piebald female goose is still caring for her adopted egg.  Will it hatch soon?  I hope so.

Baby geese are sure cute!   The two families were feeding close together some of the time this morning.  The N1 gosling is bigger than the others, probably several days older.

Views of the creek upstream from N1 show plenty of water flowing now.

Goose families doing their thing same as yesterday.  The piebald mom goose rolled the unhatched egg back and forth several times about 10:30 AM.  She might be encouraging the chick to move, or she might just be bored sitting there day after day.  It's not too late for this egg to hatch.  It was laid at N1 soon after the first goslings jumped, so about April 16th, and incubation is 25 to 28 days.

I hope the egg hatches. I wonder if birds can detect the warmth of a live baby in the egg. Or if the piebald is just hoping.
