Good Morning Beakers!

Well, this is something!

Sue Bruhling - Above and Beyond the Live Cam...BREAKING NEWS IN DECORAH!!! We have found HD & HM and their New Nest!! 🙂 Decorah Hatchery Eagles - November 2, 2023
We had been itching to get down to Decorah to try and figure out what the heck was going on with HD/Dude & HM/Missy! So with Benny Bruhling behind the wheel, Tide Bruhling in the Back seat and me shot gun we headed south for Decorah.
After about 3 hours or so we made it to Decorah. We were heading towards the Fish Hatchery and Benny saw an Eagle flying with a long stick, so we started following in the direction he/she was going. We were Lucky enough to see HD or HM fly in and land in a tree. When we put our Binoculars on the area, Low and Behold there it was!! Both Eagles and their New Nest! Pretty Crazy as we had only been in Decorah about one hour! It was a Celebration of a Big Happy Dance and High Fives Galore!! 😉
It was great to find them and their Nest but all so Bittersweet too...  It is out of camera range. So, we wouldn't be able to watch them this year.  Too late to install cameras on the new nest tree. It could spook them and drive them away.
What does this mean for N1 & N2, I don't know. Would another Couple come and take up residency in one of those two Nests? Not sure! There is some distance between the New Nest and N1 and N2
But the million-dollar question is will it be enough...
We wouldn't be able to watch them unless Raptor Resource Project would have a Plan B.  Then there is always the theory that they still might go back to N1! Remember Never say Never in the Eagle World 😉 Time will tell! 🙂For now, we aren't going to Disclose the Location but in time we will.
Have a Great Evening and remember don't let anyone take your Happy away! 🙂
Fly Like an Eagle!

CLYNN!!! WOWOW!!! Thanks for sharing this news on the Hatchery Decorah/HD pair!!  :-* :-*  Talons crossed!  :)

HAPPY FRIDAY, BEAKERS!  :)

Lani, oh thanks! I see you already ordered for me and have my glash of wine waiting.  I'm on my way - I just have to slick back my striped mane real quick!  :D  Friday Happy Hour is going to be fun - we can "zebra watch" while we sip!! ! Yay!  ;D

Tig, ((Rosie))

Lisa, glad you feel better!

Hi Lori!  :)

E4E, you and your mom had a busy day!

TSK, LOL on Lulu and The Slippers!  :D :-*

Phyl, I might break down and get a sandwich when I go out in a bit - it's the day for it!  Love a Lawyer Day?  Not happening.  ;D  When I first moved here 17 years ago, an attorney asked me out on a 1st date to enjoy a Happy Hour glass of wine outdoors at a riverfront restaurant, with a sunset view over the river. He also was big into underwater diving.  I told him my favorite coastal "Lawyer Joke," which went like this: (Q) What do you call a lawyer on the bottom of the ocean?  (A) A good start!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  Surprisingly, he asked me out again!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Puff, I hated typing class. LOL, though I was fairly good at it.  Our typing teacher was an emotional mess, poor thing. She would cry if someone used one of those erasure wheels without sliding the carriage over first... because the erasure bits would gum up "the works," of course. Poor lady... the guys in our class had no mercey, and would do it on purpose!  ::)

Karen, Piper says it feels great out!!  :D :-*

Clynn, oh the Siamese kittens are real newbies!   :) :-* I can't wait to hear what you think after you see them!  Bitty, Bobo, Daphne, Charlie, Missy, Momo (!!), Sandy, Body (pronounced as Boady, not Boddy, LOL), Weezie (Louise)... LOL... just trying out some names as they just pop up.  ;) :D

Remembering, and missing TX_Ninja on his birthday, with many fond memories of "hanging in the rafters" with him in middle-of-the-night in the DE cam chat's PM message board of old.  May he rest in peace.

tsk Had the classes at Kelly High School (Archer & California, Brighton Park).
One was American History, other was English 4/Intro English.  Was/I signed into both advanced placement classes; if you passed you were entitled to 3 cr. hrs. at many state schools.  Passed English, didn't qualify for History.  So before I entered CTC I already had credits.  College was Chicago Teachers College; after many changes it's now Illinois State College Chicago.  Now a liberal arts college, almost lakefront but far south of the loop.  When I went it was for teaching.  School run by B. of E.  Teachers/professors were all "actual seasoned former teachers".  All classes were geared toward those who wanted to teach.

Just for the record there's no more speed to my keying anymore.  First, I have a tempermental spacebar, urrrgggh.  Second, the fingers are all "screwed up" because of arthritis.  Double urrrgggh!!

Last tale of the teach.  (An aside first that I just had pop into the brain - I had students who liked to call me teach.  My retort was to asked "What pup?").

Back to the last tale:  The programmer at Kelly came up with a neat system for the guys and girls mostly guys in the 70's - 90's who were in sports programs.  That inevitably meant that during the semester some team members (and I) would have outside class to do to make up.  Different seasons, different jocks.
One of the best, easiest, and probably, funnest classes to teach.  Probably 80% male, the girls and I both enjoyed the challenging attitude of the class.  The competition from the self-motivated guys was fantastic.
BTW Feather in our caps - one fellow who was both basketball and football came out in first place in typing for a Chgo B of E Competition.  We both did good.

The bad, the sad - - Derrick went on to become Lt. of Housing in Chgo housing buildings.  Some son-of-a-B killed him.   :'(

Tsk, I was thinking the same but I do not understand how an eagle can abandon a home next door to an abundant buffet!   Then there are the strip stores with the occasional road kill close by!   We will know the answer soon!

Lani, that is one elegant zebra!  Is she waiting for Baz or a  handsome dude in black tie?

A High school friend called the other day to say she was cooking a dish she got off the computer a few yeats ago!  It sounds delicious and perfect for cold weather!  Easy too!
2 lbs of beef stew meat
I can of cream of mushroom soup
1 souo can of water
1 package of French onion soup mix
1 package of brown gravy mix
Mix all together and put in a covered dish.
Bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours!
Serve over noodles! I THINK IT COULD BE DONE IN A SLOW COOKER.
I WOULD SAUTE A LITTLE GARLIC AND SOME MUSHROOMS.
She said the meat was melt in your moth tender and tasty!

Puff one of the athlete types in my High School took typing!  Many thought it would be easy!  He became very frustrated and hit the return so hard it came off and sailed toward the windows!  It did stop before breaking glass!  He truly needed an anger management class more than typing

Karen - Yep, feeling a lot better.

Lani - Love your morning Zebra. 😁

Tsk - Thanks!  I am thinking if HM & HD stay at the vacation home, maybe another pair of geese will take advantage of it?  I think I have seen that recipe before.  I made something similar called No Peek Beef Stew done the same way.

Baz - Thanks! Love your lawyer joke 😂

Kb - Aww poor tired pup, and you!

Tig - Hope all goes well with flu shots.  Mmm, Firehouse subs are good.

Have a good night, everyone!

Phyl, beautiful Waxwings and Sandhill Cranes.

Clynn, love your morning posts.... Hawaii high schools, at least the one I went to, students were close with their counselors. From 9th to 12th grade you had the same counselor. At the beginning of your Freshman year, the counselor sits down with you and helps guide your plans for the 4 years. I knew I wasn't going to college, we didn't have the money nor was community college available in Hawaii until the late 70's. He helped guide me with choosing the classes that could help me get a job after I graduated. I thought I'd like to be a Secretary or office worker, and the elective classes from 10th to graduation all were chosen with that goal in mind. 3 years typing, 2 Shorthand, 2 Accounting, 2 Bookkeeping, 2 yrs Spanish, etc. I loved English Lit, History... And if I found that I was interested in something else, then we would change a class. I loved my counselor Mr Chung and ended up being one his aides in my Senior year. Our school also had Vocation Tech available for students. In Hawaii during the 60's there was just a small percentage of students who would be able to go on to college. As far as Home Ec. which was required I had one year of that, but I was already doing the cooking and sewing at home. That was enough for me. LOL! ... oh my, thank you for posting SMB's Decorah post and pic of the new Decorah nest for the HM/HD. That's sad, they built another nest. I wonder why  ??? Maybe it wasn't private enough, too busy of an area ....

Tsk, Ditto the Bruhlings as well Robin Brumm are very dedicated. God bless them.

Eagles I hope your mom had a good doctor's appt yesterday. Glad you had a nice day of shopping, lunch and visit with your mom. Today was my late MILs birthday.

Puff, God bless Shorthand teachers.  :-*  My school mates and I exchanged notes written in shorthand. Years later, I continued to write minutes or notes to myself in shorthand.  ;D I remember using the 10 Key adding machine.... my mom and I loved "As The World Turns". One of the first Soap Opera shown in Hawaii... {{{Derrick}}}

Lori, beautiful cake for TX Ninja!

Kb, that's funny about the Hen, Rooster and egg. Pecking on her head... love the dog.

{{{Lisa}}} glad you're feeling better .. No Peek Beef Stew.. I guess that means don't take the lid off.

SED Karen and Piper, love your story about your mother and her pet pig.  ;D .. Thanks for sharing the Beef Stew recipe. I'll make it next week... love your school athletic story. I could see that with a couple of guys in my typing class. LOL!  ;D

Baz, I searched far and wide for junior!  ;D ;D ;D ... The minute I saw the Zebra, I thought "yep, TGIF!"  8) ... your lawyer joke! LOL!

BL, LOL! well now that is one sexy tomato!   8)

Thinking of you TX Ninja!  :)

Good night!
