Hello Beakers

My method of participation in the forum, is to never log off - I also have my computer set to go to hibernation after 4 hours of idle.  So that is how I am listed as 3 most active at 266 days of online.  But I am seeing that member/user stats seem to be very much unusual - record number of users has not been threatened since 2011 - yesterday is reported to now be a new record at 1325 and today is listed at 1290.  We have not passed 500 in a day for years.  It also shows that we have only 98 registered members.  There are several stats that just seem way off and out of norm compared to the last 10 years.

Part 27: Rebuilding the Clinchfield Railroad Series   -   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AujVfmMvQX0

It took 3 attempts to get this to post - the last time, I copied my post in the editor, back arrow to the Beak and then back to the editor - pasted my post to the new window and it posted correctly.... ::)

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, the forum didn't go back 4 pages this morning when I opened, wonder if someone is working on it? Hmmm, I hope so. I see that karen is able to post now, I hope baz and everyone else can get in now. Poor Bishop Bejamin, handling a group of ladies can be a challenge!  So they say!  I bet you and Aly are keeping busy and Sadie and Dewey are too!  Sweet dog noses!

oldguy, wow, all of those forum stats seem buggy!  I think these issues have been building up, the first thing being that the pictures via the 'insert image link' go from huge to normal randomly. I have had to mess around with pictures every day for the last few weeks. That had never happened before. Thanks for the Cclinchfield video, I enjoy seeing the progress!

karen, hello! Glad to see you made it in! Hopefully someone has been working on the issues...

tsk, look forward to seeing you post this morning, with no issues! The person who posted the Havasuti picture, it was a post on FB, I didn't recognize the name. I assumed it was just a person on vacation...Glad to hear Tim has the bandage off, wow, he needs to be really careful! Sophie loves getting into things, there is a plastic tray-like thing, I can't remember what came in it, but she loves laying in it, so I just can't throw it away! I'll try to get a picture!

Lisa, beautiful basket of flowers yesterday!

Paulie, I hope your whirlwind long weekend was all good! You and Charlie must be exhausted! Now you can get some rest...

baz, miss you!

Hellgate - Iris and NG2

Big Bear Bald Eagles - Jackie and Shadow - Sunny and Gizmo fledged, and may disperse soon
Home always has food and Mama Jackie always loves to feed her young ones..Sunny was hungry and was fast gobbling the fish down when Jackie took it away so she could have the joy of feeding her; Sunny then almost fell asleep, in a full tummy stupor, when Gizmo came flying thru the front porch..🦅 Jackie looks at her two grown eaglets and I think that she is happy to see her little ones back at the nest together...I know I am happy to see them both home together..What a special gift to end the day..Thank you FOBBV and all the great volunteers and camera people...I'm sure this has made everyone's day complete..🦅🦅💖

Second attempt.  I can only read the page it opens to.  Cannot go forward or back or I get the data base error.  I'm missing a lot of stuff Beakers are posting  :P

Prayers:  Remember last year Tim's 60 yr old cousin was diagnosed with astrocytoma grade 4.  He had surgery and chemo.  His check up in early Dec was still a thumbs up.  However just got word it has returned ( as one might expect) and he will have surgery Thurs followed by more chemo.  His attitude is good

OLDGUY  I never sign out either.  Sounds like a major revamp is in order.

LANI    " testy ladies of the vestry"  LOLOL  Love the good night tirade.

KAREN   YAY  You snuck in - Hope it lasts

CLYNN  An orange morning today  :)  Orange used to be my favorite color - Now I don't know why  LOLOL  Good screen shot at Big Bear.  They sure were a national news item this year.  We need more of that kind of news  ;) ;)   Hope you are also sending AMY your posting particulars so she can add that to her fix.

Well, when I came back to the Beak it put me 4 pages back again!  I cannot complain though, that (and the picture thing) are the only issues I have had. And those are just very minor irritations that I can manage. I am knocking on wood for sure...

Phyl, thanks for the 365, I love watching birds build their nests! It is quite a job!  Pretty flower pics this morning! 58 here now, high 73 today.

tsk, sounds like posters are getting different issues with the forums, there must be many who can't get in or get around once in...

I took a peek at the Well Fargo osprey cam a few minutes ago and caught the 3 healthy chicks having breakfast!

Good Morning Beakers

oldguy - Thanks for your input.  I have myself set on logged in forever, unless I actually logout or clear my cache.  I had noticed that too about the forum stats.

Lani - Nope, there is not many threads being posted in, so that is what made me think it is a forum wide issue for many regular members who post.

Karen - Yay, you are back in!  Stay cool!

clynn - Thanks for kind words on yesterday's pic.  I had noticed it was larger than most of the ones I have been posting lately.  One day big, one day regular size.  You mentioned that you go back 4 pages when you click on the Beak.  I only go back 4 pages when I click on the main forum page and click the red circled Beak Room.  If I click on Decorah Lounge, go to next screen, select Beak room, I am on the correct page.  It use to work correctly but clicking on the red circled Beak room, but not since all this started happening.

tsk - Glad you made it in this morning to post and read a lil.  Prayers for Tim's cousin!!

Phyl - Thanks for the 365.

For all those who are not here yet...Morning  :)

Off to BJ's this morning!

The only problem that I'm having with the forum is the "skipping back 4 pages" issue.
And for me that's really not much of an issue.

The 4 pg back thing is only annoying when I go to my Profile > Profile of BrokenLug > Show Posts > pick an older post > It takes me back to the 1st post 4 pgs back > Go forward 4 pages and scroll down to look for my older post.   ::)

No logging in or out issues.
No picture resizing or posting of them issues.
No error codes on any part of the forum.   ??? ??? ???

Using Win 7 home Desktop and Win 10 home Laptop fully up to date.

To get to the last post on the Beak reliably and consistently from the home pg. I'm doing these 2 simple steps ...

This 4 pg back deal might be a Index corruption issue from the (4 ?) pages in the Beak that Amy had to delete because the pages themselves had become corrupt. I think.

Ok so there's that.

Now as far as all of the other weird issues (that only some peeps) are experiencing:
Can't log in at all ?
Making a post and getting an Error Code/Message ?
The weird picture issues some describe. I never had any problems doing it the way I have always been doing it on my end. ?
The stats being very anomalous ?
Etc, Etc, Etc ... ?

Are all the other above issues linked to the deletion of just 4 pages in just the Beak Thread ?  I kind of doubt it.

I'm beginning to wonder, by the random nature of the forum issues being described, if this Version SMF 2.0.19 is somehow not getting along with or is not completely compatible with certain Operating Systems -or- is SMF out of date security wise itself as in not the latest greatest version ??

Did the SMF forum itself suffer a security issue/hack/attack and catch a virus of some sort, I don't know enough about forums to be in the know on that  ??

A lot of images, web links, videos and attachments from all sorts of places from the web get posted here on this forum and we've all heard about the nasty spam, viruses, etc that can "ride along" with all of those things so I suppose it's not inconceivable that a virus could creep into the Forum itself.  Again I don't know for sure.

I wonder if the peeps having problems with the forum are all using Windows 11 OS lets just say ??
Apple PC's, Cell Phones, I Pads, tablets, models of  .. I know absolutely nothing about.
I mean completely as far as the Operating Systems, Versions and types of etc.

So, for those that are having reoccurring & repeatable issues with a certain forum issue .. provide as much known info on the type of device, OS, version, etc .. as well as the specific forum issue/s that are happening to you succinctly.

If we try to help Amy logically narrow down and trouble shoot what may be going on here with as much clear info as we can provide it might help her when she tries to fix things.  Just an Idea.  :)

Here's a pic of the RRP Forum person that has to try and fix the gremlins ...

BL - I had one forum member message me, who does not post in the Beak say that she could log in, but when she went to post she got the “database error” message.  I use Win 11, and have had a few of the problems, but for the past few days have not had any problems posting.  I am in an iPad at the moment, so waiting to see what happens when I hit post.  I don’t think the problem is Beak specific, it’s a whole forum issue.

Lani - Thanks for the update on Iris and NG

Kb - You are lucky if you are not having any issues at all with the forum.

Good night, everyone 😴
