Tig, the new loveseat is very nice, but there's something a bit more cozy and comfy about your old one... sorry you weren't able to make it Fort Snelling National Cemetery...

Lisa, color coded is a great idea.  ;D

Kb, great pics of the T6 thunders and what a beautiful day!

Oldguy, thanks, I'll watch the update in the morning.

Tsk, the pc labels are a great idea. I think Mike may like that... just my father's family moved to SF, most of his family lives in northern Maine and French Quebec. My father's mother, my grandmother spoke perfect French. It was very interesting to have my Hawaiian grandmother who spoke no english and a French grandmother who spoke with a heavy French Canadian accent.... Enjoy your computer...

{{{Karen and Piper}}} sweet good night pic.  :-*

LANI   My Mom's mom/dad lived in town and we saw that grandma and grandpa often.  In fact they came to live with our family when my grandpa showed signs of dementia.   That grandma could speak a few phrases in French and she would always recite a little French poem to us pointing to all of our facial parts  LOLOL

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, very interesting family history you have, I don't remember you mentioning the French history before! Thanks, I love hearing ancestry! My cousin Doug has done extensive research on Ancestry, and I have done a good bit on my own. I was finally able to find more on my Dad, I had searched and searched for information in Ohio where he was raised by his grandparents and I stumbled on something from Missouri. From there I was able to trace Dad back to France! I would love to join Ancestry for a while but I have to wait until I get some things done around here. I know I will do nothing else if I do it now!

tsk, I found something free to use to identify cords, not only on a computer but for all of the charging cords laying around. Like the drill, the trimmer, shaver, the clippers... Have you ever found a charger and didn't know what it was for? LOLOL! Anyway, save those plastic thingys that come on loaves of bread. Write on it what it is with a Sharpie and fasten it to the cord. We have a MESS of cords where the router, modem and stuff is. Men don't seem to mind the tangled mess...

oldguy, interesting video of North Carolina after the hurricane! We got some rain last night, not sure how much.

karen, Is Micky still visiting? Hope you have all the things done that you needed help with!

Phyl, sorry Jim had to work yesterday, how is he feeling? and how are your knees? Thanks for the article on Memorial Day! I would love your Mom's lemon cream pie! Purrs to Maggie!

Lori, thanks for all the beautiful and moving pictures! Hope you and Destini are doing well.

kb, I saved your Dad's picture, sorry I couldn't get it added to this collage set. I have to re-do them each holiday, I spend hours on it because I am not so techy... It will definitely be in the Veterans collages in November.

If anyone else has pictures you would like to be included, please send them in a post or a PM!

Erin sent me this picture of the Munchkins... Brother and Sister Always...

Clynn - thanks. I didn't anticipate you getting it done yesterday. I thought maybe by next Memorial Day. Veterans Day would be even better. Adorable pic btw.

After noonish I'm going to start putting my furniture back on the deck. A cloudy, light rainy day here so no sitting out in the sun to be had.

Happy Heavenly Birthday Scotty.....gone too young.

Royal Albatross Ranger Sharyn posts that "the Signal Station Trig chick has grown to 6.5 kg on day 119 (Tuesday 27th of May, 10.07 am). This is a 700g increase on last week’s weight. Today’s weight is 0.7 kg below average for a female toroa chick of this age but just within the healthy weight range so there was no supplementary feeding required today. She was also fed by a parent at 3.36pm today which will have pushed her weight closer to the average."

So even though supp fed still just under the average. They burn calories in growing (transforming) and staying warm

The Down is coming off the wings now  :)

#RoyalCam chick says close enough with clippers, clack clack 😊. Thanks for grass and cam attention, Sharyn.

Tsk, sweet memories of your grandparents. How is Tim?  :)

Clynn, Beautiful Yellow Tuesday pics!... Love the beautiful photo of Talon and Bella... sweet and comforting  :-*... I've mentioned my French Canadian side of the family before, as I've said I didn't meet my bio father/his maternal very Catholic family until I was 18. (I was baptized a Catholic when I was an infant and 2 yrs old before he left us in Hawaii. He was in the Air Force) I only had seen him/grandmother 3 times before their passing... I have a half bro/sister whom I haven't seen since my father's funeral in 92' ... I was raised by my mother's parents until I was 7 and mother needed me at home to help raise my sweet brother/sister from my step-father.... my mother never forgave my bio father and I bore the brunt of her unhappiness. There was never a day that went by that I wasn't reminded of the white side of my parentage..... so, I've only known my Hawaiian side and feel closer in blood and connection to the islands. I really wasn't curious about the French Canadian until after my father's funeral and through his attorney he chose me to take care of his estate and follow through with his wishes for his son/daughter from his 2nd marriage.  An interesting position to put his eldest daughter from his first marriage in, but his attorney told me he wanted to make up for his past mistakes with me and knew I would be fair in taking care of my half siblings. It was a sticky situation especially since I lived in Kansas and they in SF, CA, but I made sure to keep all information open and above any question of concerns from either sibling or their own attorneys.... It took over a year+ as Oldguy would know, but it was done. Through family portraits, bibles, my fathers/grandmothers letters/cards tied with ribbons or in boxes that were full of family names/history I discovered that side of my family. Lots of memories of that period good, bad, sad, but mostly good. It's really how we persevere through it that matters.. isn't it?!  :) ;D

Phyl, oh my goodness, I can smell the sweet delicate floral bottles of perfume from here!  ;D .... courtship time in Pyrénées, France. ;D

Lisa, for the first time in a couple of weeks clicking on your post got me straight to your morning post! YAY! Maybe the past issues are gone!!  ;D

Happy Heavenly birthday Scott!

CLYNN   Those plastic bread things I use for the masking tape roll or any tape roll I attach the end of the tape to the bread plastic so the end is always free.  Best hack ever.  They are too small for me to write on tho.  ::)   What a great pic of the munchkins  :)   They will be at your house tomorrow  ;D

PHYL   Beautiful ornate perfume bottles. ;)   I didn't care what style the labels were I just needed them to allow me to write big so I could see them.  LOL

KB  I'm so sorry for not posting Scott's heavenly birthday this AM - Still distracted by my new computer and had to be out of the house by 8:15.   Hope you enjoy his favortie meal or at least a piece of cake  :-* :-*

LANI   Good report on SST chick  :)  We see his cardiologist this afternoon and PCP - Wed AM.  Doing better.
WOW  Thanks for sharing that part of your life Lani.  What a responsibility given to you from a Dad you barely knew.  You are a very kind, responsible and independent person despite Mom's attitude.  :-* :-*

Hello Beakers.  :)

I just got caught up again in The Beak. I haven't been turning on my computer as often.

Seems like I have some of the same troubles as some others as far as where I land when I click on "NEW", and other related goofs happening in this thread. I still suspect a corrupted index, and hope it might get rebuilt if that is indeed the problem. Maybe Amy will be able to troubleshoot the problem and implement a fix after things settle down from banding, or sometime over the summer, maybe.

Clynn, thank you for posting the collage for Memorial Day. Oh no - you have to re-create it every time you post it? So there's no way to save the collage for re-posting? I guess not, if you aren't able to do that. I don't want you to work that many hours every time you post it!

Tig, yes, I'm watching The French Open.

I tweaked my knee while I was visiting my sister last week. And exactly what was I doing that caused my knee to go rogue on me? I simply was getting into the car - no special movements required - just simply getting into the car the way I normally do. Apparently my knee was not in the mood for that. Just call me Gimpy.  ::)

Good night, Beakers. Peace. Out.
