Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, don't know if they are having a retirement party for Ed, most of his co-workers are scattered over the country or are in India (technical people...) but there are several here. His boss asked him to come in tomorrow at 11:00 and for some reason arrived today (he is in Oregon), so it seems like they may be doing something! Prayers for Petunia, what a sad beginning for her...

A post popped up on FB from SOAR, they picked up an osprey southwest of Des Moines (where I live)!  https://soarraptors.org/2025/04/osprey-y8-admitted/?fbclid=IwY2xjawKAL61leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFrWGc3WlNGWjBvcEo5cnpsAR679Qgzfg6_MKFgVu_1YivkqAErfJp6F5OiCZiwHS3NKLxipqenL9mmcUzmxw_aem_KGYq4jDN8yTGQx2IpjClSQ

Paulie,
happy to hear that there is no apparent damage to your 'sweet little get-a-way' cabin! And I hope you and Charlie are able to spend the night!  Prayers for Charlie's heart... I got a picture in my mind of you free-wheeling all over the woods in your four wheeler!

baz, I have to mess around with picture images too, I cut and paste them right back where they were, it usually works! I wish I just ate when I was hongry!  Medium-busy days are nice, and you got a walk in! Computer time gets away with me too...

Lisa, beautiful pansies in your pic yesterday. Yes, Ed's last day is tomorrow. Almost 22 years at Wells Fargo. Then it will be only Erin working there. Before I retired in 2018 all three of us worked there for a few years! Are you feeling back to normal yet?

tsk, I need to do the window cleaning too! Mom has this Windex window cleaning tool, I clean her front picture every time I am there. It does a really good job, so now I have one. Just need to get the hose out! And clean the inside!  ::)

karen, I am still thinking of how thankful I am that Mickey is coming to visit!  I bet you have a list going on what she can help you with. I have asked Mom to make a list of things she needs me to do when I am there, and she does! I had to chuckle at your post, about the Judys rescued from the river... You keep us entertained!

A pair of baby bald eagles were rescued by Longmeadow MA firefighters after their nest was blown down by the wind, landing in a swampy area on Tuesday night. https://on.nbcboston.com/n87QC0y

Those were some grown "eaglets"  They must be hatching much earlier than Decorah eagles.  Our one legitimate entry T3 isn't anywhere near those 2.  Maybe earlier hatching in MA?  Which is farther north - MA or Iowa?

tsk  Already with the hummingbirds!  If it stops raining for tomorrow I'll join in the feeders.  Rain was very soothing I guess.  Slept late this morning; 6:30.  Maybe it was all the "stuff" I got outside yesterday.  I'll be taking a break today along with drugs (tee hee).

some bounce

I'm feeling better today. Yay. The new exercises from the P.T. doctor are difficult. Camper asked his son and he will come by on Saturday to help with some garden tasks. I think Camper is somewhat better. Since he was diagnosed with MD at age 8 he is used to being in pain every day. He carries it with grace.

Clynn --- I hope Ed has a wonderful celebration. Will you be there? Camper had a coworker who planned his own retirement celebration. His wife found out he was retiring when she attended the party!!!!  Yes, he was a strange dude.  ::)

What an amazing story. Valerie the mini dachshund was rescued from being lost for 529 days on Kangaroo Island.

The method they used to rescue her was brilliant.

Happy May Day.

Boy it sure sounds like a lot of trees came down all over the country from those storms the other day including some with eaglets and juvies in them.   :(

Here's another pair of juvenile BE's that were rescued in Missouri just outside St Louis.   :)

Letting you know we're heading to cabin tomorrow to check it out. Contractor texted me he went there and all looks okay. Nothing fallen on or near cabin. Yay. Electric company texted power still out then texted crews on site to repair so I'm assuming we'll heave electric tomorrow. Hope so. I do all the driving to and from now because can't take chance of ICD shocking Charlie's heart while driving. I'm not looking forward to the drive twice in a day so fingers crossed there's electric and coffee!!  ;D  Friday morning too hoping we can spend overnight there to Friday. Will post if I can. Even with power it's wonky on the mountain.

Contractor said another nasty storm is expected Friday. Pittsburgh and a bit east to cabin got hammered!! I might drive 4 wheeler around to check out property further out on property. Charlie can't do that any more. I'm wicked driving that 4 wheeler. Charlie won't ride with me.  ;D

Sleep well. SED  :)

Paulie, Here's the 6 hour radar loop of the storms that clobbered your "cabin area" of PA on 04/29/25.    :o    ::)

You go girl on the 4 wheeler.   ;D    8)
Just be careful around/under any damaged trees on the property.
There could still be hard to see widow maker snags hanging up in the tree canopy.

KB  Tough little pup.

LANI  Lucky Sadie  LOL

Dropped everything  - put my car out in the pouring rain and subsequently when it stopped and sun appeared briefly - I Shamwowed it down and saved another $25.00  ;D ;D

Holy smokes TIG  I did not know that.  What I didn't know is that there is a non progressive form of this childhood disease.

Happy May Day, Joel
Tig, Age and weight do not help a lot of things I can make a long list  But there’s no point in that is everybody knows that
Went do the doctor for my back today thinking I would have an x-ray, a short discussion and a referral for the shot in the spine which I absolutely hate. Instead, I got two steroid shots, one in each arm and was told to see how it goes after a couple of weeks. If no good to call back and they would schedule me for the shot in the back. I sure hope this works because I do not like those back shots. You can almost hear the bone crunching and I get so tense. it’s unbelievable.  Psychologically I feel better already, but they told me it would take two days to get your money back.   Said the hardware in my back for my previous surgery looks great and is still in place which actually I never questioned.   Have fun at these doctors visits. Looking at the people to come in for assistance as some of them almost look like they have Halloween costumes on. It’s really pretty funny and they probably think I look funny as well.

Pauli, Be careful on that four wheeler and be mindful of  bls  Warnings?    I hope you find things in good shape at the cabin and that you are able to enjoy a day or two there. Just send a picture of yourself driving that far wheel drive.
Lani, You know, I love the sloths and I forgot to thank you for the little story about petunia. I hope she does well, but I know the three fingers ones seem to be more delicate than the two finger ones in anyway thanks for posting that.   Also, the Bears and the obvious when you do those

Yard people here tomorrow and I have a lot for them to do. We’ll see how much gets done. I also have to go to the car dealer and get the batteries replaced in my car‘s key fobs. This is an order from the information Center. He also told me it’s time for an oil change in a couple of weeks so I’ll make an appointment for that. I don’t think I need an appointment to get the battery change modern life lol O lol.!
Clynn. Will be waiting to hear if  Ed has a party or if he is just wanted there to sign papers for retirement purposes either way we sure wish him well

Going to sit outside with piper for a spell and see what I see in the sky. In the meantime, Amy, if you’re reading here, please give us an update on the eagle that was found in the creek who died have you identified who she is? Is it HM or is it another bird who was in the area and have they determined the cause of death there seems to be a female flying around with HD and I would think. It would be possible to see if this is 8 AM or if it was 8 AM in the creek there have to be many pictures of HM available to make that determination so if you’re reading here please no  Curious minds want to know

BAZI   Is the privacy fence something new?  Maybe I missed something.

TSK, no, it isn't new, but it was replaced last Fall because it was pretty old and starting to look a bit bedraggled. I don't think I mentioned it back then - not much to say about it. I never sealed the original one, but I'm looking to seal this one. Just a small pine privacy fence with a gate across the back of my tiny patio behind the patio sliding door..
