some bounce

I felt somewhat better but needed to rest often, and took a couple pain killers before going out.
Today, I put the snow rakes away, brought out the hose holder and the rain gauge and bird bath.

Good Afternoon  :)

Lani, Happy to make you laugh about sparrow and my son. And the same has happened at your house too! It's startling at first then ya just have to laugh.  :)

I tried posting some trail cam pictures last summer for LB because she asked too but they wouldn't post. I got message saying too large or something similar. I don't understand why because I was able to post photos of the cabin when we finished building it and inside too so don't know why they weren't too large or whatever. I wish I could for you.

tsk, Correct the nest did not fall. Sadly she did stop coming to the nest. Maybe eggs were nonviable or too much activity going in and out front door. Yes my son who will be visiting is going to cabin with us. Yay! And maybe my other son too if he can get off work.

clynn, Oh my heavens to both cats and birds at Kay's house! That had to be crazy. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

Quick story (I hope)
Years ago I bought 2 Zebra Finches. The lady selling them suggested I get some fake eggs to put into nest to fool them to not lay more eggs. Never heard of that but I said oh my I couldn't do that to them. Well when I reached having 13 birds I put fake eggs in the nest real fast.  ;D
So one day I went home for lunch from work because it had been a busy stressful day. I opened one of the bird cage gate to add water or something. 3 birds flew out so fast!! At the time I have Zeus my Saint Bernard and 3 cats. Zeus didn't care but I had 3 birds flying in different directions and 3 cats flying through the air!! Eventually I could grad each bird individually while tell cats to stay back. When back in cage I told myself forget about relaxing lunch at home so left returning to work.  ;D

Yes we can still stay in cabin. We just built it two years ago. We were blessed being able to do that too. Anyway we're still discovering details about mountain living and what maintenance entail. We honestly hadn't thought about some things before hand. The water drainage has to do with water coming down from top of mountain further up then getting it to drain away left and right from cabin not directly behind it.

Yes we are very excited about son's visit. We get to see him once or twice a year. Nice your son lives just 18 miles away!

Lisa, Hoping you feel better soon. Good your covid test was negative. Pollen and allergies are terrible this year everywhere. Take care.

CLYNN  Love that yellow vase and matching flowers  ;D   I would say " Boy 2 years already?" Good memories for you of Kay. Does Kelsey still talk about her?  LOL  I agree I would have trouble with Ziggie and Izzie  LOL  Big Bear has been a good nest to watch this year.

PHYL   I wondered how they could tell it was an eagle owl - but I guess you just had to be there.  Beautiful tho.  365

(((LISA)))    I too am a paper calendar person.  Never use my phone's calendar.

LANI   Love your story of Sadie and the elk  ;D   I love all the colorful blankets they have at the sloth hospital.  So cheery. Wonder if sloths see color?  I'll have to Google that one. ::)

PAULIE   You have a regular menagerie.  How many do you still have?  Had you planned on raising the zebra finches?  Do you still have them?

KAREN is having battery issues with her IPAD....

Short post! Lovely morning, pictures and posts
My iPad battery is acting up and I just got it charged enough to read and post here now I have the new one but I am old school and do not know how to transfer information from this one to that one so I’m waiting for an expert to help. In the meantime, I hope this old iPad holes up.
Lisa, I hope you and everybody else begins to feel better soon Polly hope you get to the cabin to assess the situation there soon and enjoy a present from your son from wonderful Boone North Carolina
Calling the new vet tomorrow to see if I can get an appointment in May. Well, my friend Mickey is here she hast to go in probably around 7:30 in the morning and then come home around four and I don’t have a driver at those hours so while Mickey is here we can both go take her and go pick her up. Good deal if they have an appointment available. The broken tooth is not bothering her at all. I had one myself and it didn’t bother me.
Baz, I do love the mind is a garden but I hate the name Mabel maybe marble would be better, but I do understand it’s not my kitty that name.  Lol!
Temop of 93 yesterday and today!      Maybe be back later.  I had to work for an hour to get this iPad working and I don’t trust it

Just my 2 cents on loosing posts on any forum.

This is my hard learned normal routine and workflow.
It doesn't add very much time and it's just a couple more keyboard clicks.

I do beta testing for many outdoor recreational products in private secure forums that sometimes require long technical posts that I surely don't want to just go POOF when I hit the post button.

I call it long post insurance.

There are many different types of forum "templates" and there is not one that I have used that doesn't on occasion EAT your hard thought out and typed post.

If my post is going to be anything longer than a few lines (that I can't remember and recreate off the top of my head) I always type them up in Notepad++ and leave Notepad++ open on my Desktop until I actually see my post posted on the "Board".
It has spell, punctuation and grammar check built in.

Copy from Notepad++ > paste into this forums text box > make any needed edits here > add emojis or images etc ..

> Hit Preview > Hit post  __ If something goes wonky on the forums end I still have it sitting in Notepad++ ready for a do over.

Once I actually see it definitely is posted up on the board I just close or Save As to desktop in Notepad++ if I want to save a copy of my post to put in that Beta Forum's folder.

Now brand new tent by drone _ drop it right here right now here right out now.

5 out of 10 are going to back up your kit and shit anywhere in the USA.

Your smart phone gets you lost mostly in the back country as it should.

Paulie, Do you use Pinterest? It's free website? And you can make it private for you only too. Clynn and I had to take our photos there, when there was a photo website we were using and it shut down. Anyway, it's accepted my large photos, saved them, and I post them here. Just something to think about. ;D

Clynn, I can't believe Kay's been gone 2 years.... I saw Tsk's question to you about {{{Kelsey}}}  :-*

Paulie, Zebra Finches are beautiful. I googled more info on them... Do you still have them? Love your stories. Thanks for sharing.  ;D

Tig, sorry your Rosie time wasn't longer. Take care.  :)

{{{Lisa}}} Sadie's hackles were up. LOL! But, there was peace in the end .... I hope you will feel better in the morning.  :-*

Tsk, I'll have to google if sloths sees color too. Their blankets look very warm and cozy. It probably helps to make them feel secure and safe to snuggle into.

Karen, sorry about your ipad... I hope you can get someone to help you transfer your info... Mickey is visiting! That's great, I hope you both have a great time while she's there. Is she seeing a dentist tomorrow? Well, I hope you can get your ipad fixed. Have a good evening.

BL, thanks for the posting suggestions and Steve Winwood end the night.  :)

Good night!

An answer to my question about sloths seeing color:

No, sloths are colorblind. They have a condition called rod monochromacy, which means they lack cone cells in their eyes, and these cells are responsible for color vision. This also affects their ability to see in bright daylight, as they are essentially blind in these conditions.

KAREN   Is Mickey there now?  Wasn't sure about your "typing lady"?  LOL
