Good morning
Tsk,  Thanks for mentioning Richard Chamberlain forgot to do that yesterday born in Canada 90 years ago and died in Hawaii played in many exciting shows.   I had a CHAMOISE years ago and cannot remember what happened to it. I should get another they are great.
Clynn, Good luck at cutting down your lilac. It will rejuvenate your plant. I would be tempted to begin the pruning process now, and then fertilize and repeat next year. The video that I saw that KISS closed it was pretty Explicit as to how to do that good luck I miss having one in my yard but then haven’t had one since moving south years ago I can still smell them and see the gorgeous flowers and used to cut them and have them all over the house beautiful flowers.
Lani, thanks for the  explanation of the Medicare rules in Oregon. I still don’t understand why she can’t transfer her apprenticeship from Arizona and that that she’s already had in Oregon and qualified for full-time benefits. How many times do you have to become an apprentice if someone was a licensed therapist in Kansas, for example, and has worked there for 30 years, and moved to Oregon where they have to do a two-year apprentice   I am missing something.
Kb.after giving us information about the plane crash can you provide further information on what happened and how many people were in the plane need an updated article maybe I’ll just go to google
I have things to do so will sign off now and hope everyone has a great day and no bad weather. We are expecting rain and thunderstorms about four this afternoon so I’m going to take the garbage out to the street at about three.

This hyrax thinks it's in the army!....

Hyrax:  Hyraxes are not rodents; they are more closely related to elephants and manatees, belonging to the order Hyracoidea, not Rodentia. Live in Africa and parts of the Middle East.

this one is silly but made me smile:

The nest of KA87, YRK, and their female chick is located at Wet Rock Track. Nests of other well-known adult Royal Albatross that you might recognize their names from past seasons.

Here mom GLG is teaching SSTrig the Clacking Defense. She sniffs the area where Dad RLK had been and makes a noise/gesture to warn SSTrig of another Albie's presence. SSTrig understands and copies.... This will help SS to defend herself against young Albie Juvies or adults that may seek to harm her.

It was a 6 day hike - I think it was about 35 miles - so not rushed, but the terrain along the backbone was wicked (about 2 days) - limited tree cover and sharp/uneven rocks, constantly up and down.  My then wife was the experienced hiker (Girl Scouts) and we traveled at about 30% body weight for backpacks.  Met a solo hiker that passed us in that area that was traveling at 60% with full ax and fishing gear, he left us behind real quick.  I had improper foot wear for the terrain and damaged my feet - new expensive shoes and 3-4 weeks before I could walk without pain.  Still can not wear cheap shoes today.

In 1974 I hiked from Windigo to Rock Harbor - camped on the shore of Lake Desor.

Og I meant to ask you the other night about your Isle Royal hike back in 1974.

Did you hike the Greenstone Ridge Trail from Windigo to Rock Harbor ?

What month of the year did you do that backpack trip ?

And my real question - what were the BUGS like ?
I've read a few trip reports from the Island and peeps all mention the nasty bighting buggers can be really bad there.  ::)

BL - yes on the ridge trail.  Trip was in July of 74.  Took the slow ferry from Grand Portage to Windigo and the fast ferry from Rock Harbor back to Grand Portage.  The first 2 days out of Windigo is full tree cover with soft trail surface, making travel pleasant.  Do not remember a significant bug problem at any time, but I was experienced with Minn. skeeters.  ::)  The middle 2 days going over the ridge is more open land with open meadows in areas, but the trail was very rocky - hard to keep balance in places.  Had a weather front come thru during this part with first fog and then rain.  Saw my only moose up close eating in a clearing during the morning fog - about 100 ft. away - stopped moving long enough for the moose to disappear again in the fog.  The last 2 days were back in more tree cover, but the trail was smooth again.
Did a canoe trip with the Boy Scouts in 92 in the Canadian Boundary Waters.  One campsite was on a small island - skeeters were not big, but almost cloud factor - could not keep them out of tent. Very miserable night.  The rest of trip was not as bad.
SE Iowa - Grew up within 40 miles of Decorah

The only person who died in the plane crash was the pilot. No passengers. Terry Dolan was the pilot, a US banker. A top CIO of the company. No one was in the home when it crashed. NTSB on the scene still.

Jim left for his appointment with his PCP early this afternoon. He had been dealing  with an unproductive cough, among other issues.  Dr. Crouse sent him to So. Hills Med Ctr. ER 3 hrs. ago.
Jim called saying his ER Doc has admitted him ...currently waiting  for his bed assignment.  He has fluid around his heart and this has been aspirated.
Jim's being kept overnight for observation. This isn't the first time he's had this issue...been some time ago this has flared .
At any rate...if all goes well he says he could come home tomorrow and he'll  go into detail later to night.

I have a low opinion of those walk in clinics that Jim is so fond of using. IMHO it ought to have been Dx yesterday  when he was there. I don't use them. It's best to see one's PCP or just go to the ER.

Please keep Jim in your prayers...not a good time for us. But, then there never is one for these sort of happenings.

Gonna finally have some chow today...Maggie's snoozing in my office chair, oblivious to the day's happenings. Bless her little kitty heart.

*Sigh*

Phyl, Sorry about Jim and HeLth. He is home soon so you can take care of him. Sounds like he should be seeing a cardiologist but what do I know? Certainly sending up prayers
Bl, You had more bad weather than we did. It was here and gone, and I didn’t realize we even had rain, but the water on the pavement proves me wrong. I think I heard a little rumble of thunder off in the distance did not see any lightning and I did find it is dark as pitch before the storm really pass by I think probably at sideswiped us is what it did. I’ll be glad when he gets out to where it’s going and hope there’s not another one soon, but I think there is next week.
I find it very interesting about the plane crash into the house as I have read KBS report twice and sent two news articles about it. One article was particularly interesting as they had a picture of a house with a damaged roof, but certainly not burned up into a skeletal shape, and the story told of the couple being at home in bed and looking up and seeing the tire of the plane over their head they of course got up and got out before the police got fired, but it was put out before the place was completely destroyed. They also stated in this article. In the plane with the pilot in article, even named the two people that were passengers and told her business, there was another article showing a house, which she look like a trailer or a split level rancher, large with nothing but the skeleton of the house left standing after the fire, which was totally different than the house in the other news. Article is interesting to me that they have such different stories about things printed within days of each other. It’s no wonder people don’t know what to believe. I guess. We’ll just wait for Kb in the NTSB. good night and SIDS
oh by the way, Facebook has an article on an eagle that died after being picked up on the ground in the  area. They’re not sure it’s HM that’s not at my face book so sad testing showed it was not bird flu but they’re continuing to  identify the ,  problem , I wish  theywould to get the egg out of the nest at north and see what that tells them as well. It seems like that would be the scientific thing to do. It sounds like a Covid year for birds
