From Karen - https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/a64323622/new-cat-color-discovered/

Tsk - Jeff is not a directions follower when putting something together, so I cannot see the cat house coming out like that 😂

Can't thank oldguy enough. I joined a Jeep fb page, just got accepted as it's private, and lo and behold a Jeep off road group said they could diagnose her, just as Oldguy thought.

That's 21 miles south of me by freeway, but also got lots of other thoughts. I think most have been covered already, but can't hurt to get a second opinion...

Mid April I bring her local to a dealer for a recall item anyway. If they can't diagnose I'll see if someone can help me get her to Lakeville to the off road group.

Phyl - yes thanks. I now have options...we shall see as they say.

Meanwhile a Cessna out of Des Moines headed to Anoka County/Blaine airport landed on a single family home in Brooklyn Park.....all inside the home got out. More info to come.

It's sounds you'll get Nellie back to her old self soon enough.    :)

Indeed. Although this is premature, from comments it sounds like she needs to have an install a mopar crank sensor  and perform a cam crank relearn procedure!

That's not something my local mechanic would do.

But again, we shall see.

Watched a great you tube video last night of a guy who is incredible. Saying what we already know: That any vehicle earlier than an earlier 2000 will not last long and be much more expensive to repair. Finding the right people to fix older vehicles is a niche deal but imperative and doable.

He made an efficient (like 127 miles per gallon) diesel vehicle but nobody wanted it. Car guy engineer.

kb Believe it or not I have heard of a crankshaft sensor and the re-learn procedure.

A failing one does fit your 2000 J.G.C. symptoms to a T btw.

When you take Nellie into the the Jeep dealer for her recall let them kick the crankshaft sensor troubleshoot idea around _ the whole deal does not sound like a hairy expensive or hard mechanical fix either.  8)

I have a good fuzzy feeling that you and Chris are on an all out 'Nellie resuscitation mission' now.  :D
