Hello Beakers

Another nice warm day here... 57 for a high and sunny - the weekend is forecast to only be in the 40s before going back up - March in Iowa can be nasty, but the beginning is looking great... ;D

Ran across this video tonight - never thought to see this performer at the Grand O'l Opry...

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, love the sound on the 365, the tide coming in is so peaceful. I still wonder how birds never run into each other when flying in bunches like they do! Today is your Dr appointment, I do hope they find something they can do for you! Cute morning pics!

oldguy, wow, Ringo at the Grand Ol' Opry! I would never have imagined it either, he still sounds good! He will be 85 this year! We had the same as you yesterday, Friday is forecasted to be 60! Then 39 on Saturday. Spring in Iowa...

Lani, oh those sweet kittens cuddling in a heart shape! Love seeing huddles of little sloths hanging on the limb! Thanks for the Albie updates, they are growing fast!

karen, I just can't imagine wild pigs running around! I hope they can get control of them! I was looking for a picture and ame across this article. They are also coming down from Canada! They are getting ready in MN!  https://www.mprnews.org/story/2023/11/14/minnesota-feral-pigs-officials-ready-for-potential-invasion

paulie, I have never heard of a coyote hunt! There must not be too many around if they didn't get any, or else they were all bad shots!  ;D I'll check out your ice story! Where did you live in Germany? We lived there when I was a child, Dad was in the AF. Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Ramstein.

tsk, yes, I do think it is a thing with some cats, when they get their hackles up they attack the closest person or cat! I just learned that there is really a name for the hackles - https://www.petful.com/behaviors/piloerection/

Lisa, did you notice the hair on Bandit's back standing up or his tail bushed out when he saw the cat outside?

tsk, did you ever get any explanation of why no mail for 6 days? You could have missed something important!!

Phyl, love all the stained glass birds you posted yesterday! Mom has one in her front window like the first picture! So pretty when the sun comes up, her picture window faces East, she watches the sun come up every morning.

I remember reading about this many years ago, it was in the Sunday Parade insert that came with the Sunday paper
Woman with most children in history - Valentina Vassilyeva, born in 1707 and passed away in 1782, is recognized as "the woman with the most children in history" according to the Guinness Book of Records. She was the first wife of Feodor Vassilyev, a peasant from Shuya, Russia. At that time, there were no methods of birth control, and having children was considered both a religious and social obligation for women.
Valentina gave birth on 27 occasions, bringing into the world 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four quadruplets, adding to an incredible total of 69 children. Although it seems incredible, this extraordinary feat has been officially documented and recognized by Guinness World Records.

Big Bear, Jackie and Shadow! And their beautiful view!

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

"out like a Lion" :(

I do bone in pork chops about once a month - I use a cast iron skillet on the stove top - a thick chop is about 30 minutes on medium heat (keep skillet heat below oil spatter temp)  I also make gravy in the pan after chops are done and put it over the chops.

Thanx O.G. Yum!  These are boneless (from Omaha Steak Co.) I found a recipe... Coat with oil, season with salt/pepper, onion, garlic, paprika. Bake @ 20 min., check with thermometer. I'll make "fake... no egg" fried rice with brown rice, carrot/pea, bacon bits, soy sauce for Camper's side and chopped spinach for me.

Tax returns received... Woohoo! Some for us, some for Camper, and my portion will go to paying off the furnace.  8)  But, I have been purchasing things for myself and for Camper. A pair of step-in shoes for him and a hoodie for me: https://x.com/Lady_Warriors00/status/1878141410722865566

HAPPY DAY, BEAKERS!  :)

It's a gorgeous afternoon here - 75 degrees right now, with severe clear skies. Yep, I'm headed out for a nice neighborhood walk.

Take care, All, and enjoy your day!  :) :-*

Good Afternoon Beakers

It feels like a Spring day here!

baz - Ooo, you are a lil warmer than me.  We are only 62°, but it feels great!

tig - Your dinner sounds good, and the brownies even better!  Yay for you getting some tax money back.

oldguy - That sounds wonderful how you cook the bone-in pork chops.

Lani - Have a great day in the valley.  I had wondered about Bandit thinking it might be Misty out there...LOL  Awww, the kitties!

tsk - Pretty morning greeting.   ;D Informing you of what you aren't getting!!!

clynn - Love your greenish theme today.   Bandit's hair on his back was standing up when he saw a male out there.  Poor Valentina, she looks tired.  I would be too after all those kids!

Phyl - Good luck with doc appt.

Howdy to karen kb, Puff and all  :)

80° yesterday and 82° as we speak sat out in the yard with Piper this afternoon got a little sun on my face enhance the wrinkles don’t you know I figure I’m too old for the cancer gene so not too concerned about it at this point perhaps I should be there any way the sun felt great and his best said a severe blue sky if you can see forever and no clouds it’ll get cooler later in the week and stay in the 50s 60s for a while and then move back up again

Tig and Old Guy, The porkchops sound delicious and I like the idea of baking. The bone in chops in the oven. 20 minutes sounds good I don’t like them to dry out too much.

I am not watching the roadside antique show, which I haven’t seen in years. Kind of fun every once in a while there is something that I would like to have but most of the time I am just pretty amazed at what things sell for.
I have a few things that should be sold, but I have not had luck in finding a buyer and  can’t Lynn I have not been on eBay. I should probably try that next.

Going back outside.

LANI    Cute little bunny playing hide and seek  LOL    Hope it was a fun day and lunch in the valley  :)

TIG  I cook pork chops - esp if thick - in the crockpot topped with cream of mushroom mixed with either a packet of onion soup mix or a packet of dry ranch dressing  Usually throw in some sliced onions too.  This way I can make several and package and freeze for meals later.   the "step in shoes"? Sketchers??  I LOVE those shoes  ;D

OLDGUY   Do you dry bread crumb your chops?  Fry in olive oil?

BAZI  Took a 20 min walk yesterday when it hit the 50s.  What a treat.  Today windier and low 40s.  I didn't have time anyway unless a 45 min walk through the  grocery counts  LOL.   We DID get mail today  ;D ;D   Back on track!

KAREN   82 and a sit outside sounds wonderful  :)   Sometimes the Roadshow will show and older show of maybe 7-10 years and then show what the value was then and now.  Be amazed at how many lose value

LISA   Spring time is what we need  ;) ;)

PHYL   A good day???

Tsk
I never acquired the skill to bread meat - and also prefer non-breaded.  About the only breaded items I order in the restaurants are Fried Chicken, Veal Parmesan and Pork Tenderloins.  I prefer fried steaks and pork - mostly only hams and roast in the crook pot.  I do have a recipe from my Scouting days for Dutch Oven Beefy Mushroom Steak.  This was cubed steaks, mushroom soup, beefy mushroom soup, onion, garlic and rice - add enough water to meet the needs of the rice and 1/2 of the condensed soup. 45 to 60 minutes.
I normally use Crisco oil for the skillet - too easy to get olive oil too hot on a gas stove.
