Lani, cute baby Heidi, it's hard to tell how small they are! The video of the Mom and Baby reunion gave us a good idea though!  Sweet that you still have Mike's Mom's emails... I have a folder with Kay's emails, and her last text from 4/24/23. She passed on 4/27. Life goes on, nothing stays the same...

baz, wow, so many areas that rarely get any snow are getting not just a bit, but several inches! I would guess no one has a sled laying around! When we lived in Duluth Cathy and I had some local friends from church. Weekends were for either riding the snowmobiles or the toboggan!

BL, my Mom is a die-hard map person. of course she is, she is 90! Maps aren't always great in rural areas, we drove all over way down south in Illinois, found ourselves in Metropolis. As far south in Illinois as you can get. We were looking for the peach orchard/store but she wasn't sure exactly where it was. We did finally find it at Alto Pass, IL.
The warm-up starts today! 19! Then 34, 42, 49, 51 on Tuesday! Kitty Hawk with snow!!

Lori, hello girl! Thanks for the falcon alert! Hope you and Destini are doing well!

tsk, I have never heard of that fish! I do love catfish though! The place we used to go to when at Mom's was right on the Wabash River and they served fresh-caught catfish filets. So good, but sadly it closed during the pandemic.

Lisa, I hate it when a store stops carrying something I have bought for ages! Sam's is bad at that, other stores too!

BL    Besides Latin, did you get this sense of adventure from your parents?   Most kids today would not have a clue about what a compass is.   I love maps  and prefer that to using GPS in my car.  LOL   Loved your trail story  LOL     Maybe one day you could tell us how you and Pip met?

Phyl, lovely winter pics this morning, snow is beautiful but hopefully Spring will be here soon! I feel sorry for all the deer and others that have to hunt for food in the winter. A rough life for sure! Janet, my friend in England, sent pictures of the Snowdrops in her garden, she has a lot of them! So pretty! I havent seen any around here! Mom said her Daffodils arecoming up. The birds on the fence, love it and the snowman on the swing!

tsk, BL is an enigma for sure! (BL, I mean that in a good way!) We find out things in tiny bits here and there...like his name is Phil...  I remember earning a Compass badge in Girl Scouts, that would have been back in the mid 60s! Wonder if they still do those things these days... We tried to get Erin interested in Cub Scouts but it didn't take. Too much interest in video games and technology.

oldguy, our Menards is set up just like you said.! I like to browse through the 'grocery store' aisles, but I can't say that I get my makeup at Menards! Thanks for Maru and Penny!

tsk - Jeff and I found an old spiraled World Atlas not too long ago, that we use to use before GPS.  Those maps books were useful!
