Good Morning Beakers!

oldguy, thanks for the interesting biography of the new Pope!

Lani, did you and Aly go anywhere yesterday? I would bet you will be going to Pine and Strawberry, I remember you have favorite places to shop there! Is Mike home this week? I know you will have a wonderful time with Aly and Dewey!

Puff, Ed's mother would have loved having the Pope being from Chicago, she was born and raised in Kinsman, just SW of Chicago. She was a very devout Catholic.

baz, love your good night picture!

karen, you cleaned Piper's favorite perch! Glad to hear that she's not mad at you still!

Phyl, I am sending kitty prayers for Maggie, hope her appointment goes well! So it will take a while for your knees to feel the full effect of the treatment, I bet you are so looking forward to that time! Is Jim's cough better? We need all of you to get over this funk!! Just saw your post as I was previewing, are we back to normal? LOLOL! Love the mallard butts in the 365! Thanks for the Chocolate Chip cookie article, will read later... We are both in blues today!

tig, have a safe trip!

tsk, great to hear that Tim can get in early and have the procedure done!

Lisa, good news on Bradley's surgery, how long will recovery take? I wish him well! I wonder where one gets fleas on their shoes? Walking through grass maybe? Do they live in grass or do they have to find a furry creature to live on. I know, many questions, and I don't expect you to answer!  ;D  Have you noticed any of the B&B kitties scratching?

This Will Knock Your Socks Off - This horse suffered a leg injury after falling during a race. Unable to compete anymore, his owner chose to sell him to a slaughterhouse. Luckily, he was rescued in time by an animal welfare organization, who provided him with a prosthetic leg. Thanks to them, he now lives out his days in a peaceful place, where he’s valued not for profit, but simply for being alive.  Credit to the original Author ❤

I find it interesting that Pope Leo XIV spent most of his priesthood outside of the US.  He was hand picked by Pope Francis for his positions in Peru and Rome.  His most recent work was to create a list of candidates for new Bishops world wide.  He never served as a parish priest.

Biography of Pope Leo XIV   -   https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2025-05/biography-of-robert-francis-prevost-pope-leo-xiv.html

Thanks for the link for Pope Leo's bio OG.  I was one of those watching and waiting yesterday morning.   When announced and given the Chgo connection I started looking for more details.  I'm sure there'll be a plethora of info in the near future here in Chgo area.  Not even the new pope - but never in America seems  hard to believe.  And, as you noted, never had position in his own parish.

Did both Spanish and Italian!  And proficient in other languages too.  Impressive.  I'll be real busy outside all day today.  Relaxing and reading more later, and drugs.

Always one of my favorites.  :)

TIG    Enjoy the graduation.  Safe drive.

PHYL   The Pope is the only thing on our news.  Interviews of anyone who ever spoke to him  LOL  He's a Sox fan, of course.
Maybe you will be lucky and see some improvement sooner than that  ;) ;)   365 - like rain off a duck's back  LOL

KAREN   As it turned out the Pope is officially a SOX fan  :P  Cubs are doing much better this year setting all kinds of records.  LOL

LANI   Don't think our ACE has the popcorn deal  LOL  I'd be first in line.  :)    Does Dewey come along on the early AM walks?

CLYNN  Was ED raised in Kinsman?   That would be a fascinating field to get into - prosthetics for wildlife  " new beaks for birds" too.

I sure hope these 2 absolute criminal morons get the most absolute maximum jail time and fines available to the judge.   :o   :(  >:(

Why, I mean really just why ?

They should find the nearest standing Sycamore Tree and hang them from it like back in the day of Hadrian's Wall. IMHO.

Good Morning Beakers....TGIF!!

Thank you everyone for the posts on Bradley's surgery.  He texted me and said, he was in some discomfort yesterday, but tolerable.

Phyl - Sorry to hear your knees are still giving your trouble.  I hope the injections help.  ((Maggie))  Pretty morning greeting.  Thanks for the 365.

karen - I hope Bradley follows the docs orders too.   :)  I hope you and Piper had a restful night.

Lani - Thank you.  I hope you and Aly have been having a good visit so far.  How long is she staying?

clynn - Aww, the horse with the prosthetic leg.  To answer your question about, where does one get fleas on your shoes.  Vet said, you can carry fleas, their eggs or larvae on your shoes or pant legs from your yard.  Since, we have the skunks and raccoons along with the B&B kitties out back, he said the fleas are most likely coming from out there when we go out and come back in.  We have sprayed outside, but will have to do it several more times.  Good news is, Misty and Bandit have both stopped itching and scratching since I put the Frontline and Revolution liquid flea meds on them.

tsk - Your morning greeting  :)

Puff, oldguy, baz and BL - Morning  :)

Wellie my honeysuckle is doing well while others not so much....Also, my crimson king is finally starting to open. Just starting.

Scott and I had the honeysuckle cut to the actual ground a few years back....look at her now!

Andrew was a no show yesterday. Says today and tomorrow. We shall see. He's over committed. Unfortunately, and he knows this, I cancelled another person after Andrew called me right away and said he could do both. The new gate and soil.....now he says he's busy.....Not happy. I hired him when he first got started in business 6 years ago. He says he's just trying to help me out. As a prior business owner, me thinks he forgot how to treat his early clients who got him started and have continued to use and pay him all along. This will be the last time for me for major projects. Only annual quick items going forward.
