Good Morning Beakers!  Piper does not know why we are up so early, nor do I!  Got coffee going at 4:45 am!  Will crash early!
Cute puppy lani! Love brown puppies.   Soulful eyes.
OG. Glad you are getting tires and brakes.  It doesn’t pay  to  mess with these.
Phyl. Hope Jim is okay this am!     Hope the Ford will be ok!
Hate to take the Christmas down!  Particularly like the lights!
Tsk, B and T will probably feel a little chill in the air, not as much as you but the polar  vortex is moving south!

OLDGUY    What kind of car do you have?  LOLOL   50,000 mi on tires is darn good as well as brakes.   Regular oil changes is the secret!!  From Claire's New Years meal.  Got curious    "Tteok is a Korean term for rice cakes that are made from steamed and pounded rice flour."   Bellamy is certainly becoming an integral part of the group  ;D

PHYL   Bummer.  Hope Jim called the police and got ins. info from pick up driver.  Isn't that always the way it is.  Hope Jim is OK  Just keep monitoring.  (((PHYL  JIM)))

LANI   Love the coloring on the good night pooch.  :)

KAREN   You certainly are up early.   Today was 5:45 for me  ;D

Good Morning Beakers!

karen, wow, you are up way early, I do imagine Piper's confusion! All of my Christmas is down and put away. I think you can leave some clear lights up all year if you like!  Now to start again on my eBay room and sell or donate lots of stuff!! Thanks for the CROW info!

Lani, Kelsey loved seeing her calendar up and has noted all appointments on it! She also tracks all of our appointments on her iPhone! We are getting some snow today, it says 1-3", from 7:00-12:00, high 29. Then a long string of cold! Love that pup with your good night post, beautiful eyes...

Phyl, great 365 on the Ravens, looks like love to me... Oh no, Jim was rear-ended!!! He can still drive it? Nice warming fire...

baz, I forgot to wish Zippo a Happy Birthday! Give her a beak kiss for me!

oldguy, I would say your tires have served you well! I got new ones in the summer, my vehicle is a 2017, it had 40,000 miles on it then. It sits outside, I think that is harder on them. Simon's Cat, always good! Those kids are great step-dancers!

tsk, yes, this is a very hard time for holding back on the sweets!! Tim is not alone! Poor guy, he is a late snacker. That's when I want that Tillamook ice cream that is sitting in the freezer...  I have heard of tennis elbow but never puzzle arm!  LOLOL!  Safe travels for Tom and Barb... Good to hear that Tim is doing well with the Ozempic.

Lisa, you too are having a hard time with the holiday sweets! I had to finally banish the remaining bits of ours. But I just can't throw the ice cream out, I have made a rule that I can only have ice cream in one of those tiny Tupperware bowls and no more than every other night!

Winter

Anne Bradstreet
1612 –1672

Cold, moist, young phlegmy winter now doth lie
In swaddling clouts, like new-born infancy;
Bound up with frosts, and fur’d with hail & snows,
And, like an infant, still it taller grows.
December is my first, and now the sun
To the southward Tropick his swift race doth run.
This month he’s hous’d in horned Capricorn,
From thence he ’gins to length the shortened morn,
Through Christendom with great festivity,
Now’s held (but guessed) for blest Nativity.
Cold, frozen January next comes in,
Chilling the blood, and shrinking up the skin.
In Aquarius now keeps the long-wish’d sun,
And northward his unwearied course doth run.
The day much longer than it was before,
The cold not lessened, but augmented more.
Now toes and ears, and fingers often freeze,
And travelers their noses sometimes leese.
Moist snowy February is my last,
I care not how the winter-time doth haste.
In Pisces now the golden sun doth shine,
And northward still approaches to the line.
The rivers ’gin to ope, the snows to melt,
And some warm glances from his face are felt;
Which is increased by the lengthen’d day,
Until by’s heat, he drive all cold away.
And thus the year in circle runneth round;
Where first it did begin, in th’ end its found.

Phyl, beautiful scenery in the 365, so serene... and a beautiful Snow Leopard! Same for the pictures of the crane and the marten! They all love the snow, not us so much  It is snowing here right now, the soft, gentle snow that is so pretty. They say there is a squall going through, but the forecast for 1-3" has changed to 1".  We shall see...  the Winter poem, the circle of a year of the seasons begins again. Cute cat parade with their lanterns!

Good Morning Beakers

tsk - Not saying I always pick the best snacks at night, but I do notice that if I eat my snack before 7pm, and take my insulin between 7/7:30pm, that my blood sugars are now lower in the morning. I think I want to be where B&T are this coming week. Im not ready for these cold temps. Hope you are resting that shoulder working on the new puzzle.

oldguy - You have done good with your maintenance if you have not needed anything since 2017!

Phyl - Oh no, sorry to hear about Jim and the Ford.  I hope he is not too sore today. Thanks for the Winter poem, and the 365.

Lani - Glad to hear that Mike got your car started, even if it is till you get a permanent fix.
The contractor is waiting for the new doors to come in before he starts on the floor.  Not sure exactly what day they will start this month.

karen - Oh my, you are Piper are up early today!

clynn - I have a feeling we will be throwing away alot of cookies, as Jeff is now on a kick of not wanting any sweets, cause he sees his blood sugar numbers rising.  He started back on 1/1 his Glucerna's for his snack at night.  He drinks one every night.  Love the SWFL pic!

bounce

Buenos Dias and gentle hugz to all

I took our car in this a.m. to get a new catalytic converter (wear and tear). I was given an Escape to drive home. Nice!
Warming with steel cut oatmeal, peanut butter, protein powder, molasses. Yum. And my one cup of coffee.

I have a few "paperwork" tasks to complete before the game.

It was so fun to welcome Camper home with all our Christmas lights a twinklin'. We use older strings of lights in various rooms. They will be up through January, at least.
The boys want grandpa to come back, maybe tomorrow, for more gaming and fun. He has old WW2 board games, etc. Hopefully our car will be finished so he may make the long drive to see them. (45 minutes)

Good morning Beakers! I wish it was snowing.  :-*
Hi Eagles4, Lisa, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Kb, Tsk, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, BL, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Karen, Love your Snoopy post... I'm taking the outside Christmas decor down today. And do the inside of our home, bit by bit until end of January... maybe you and Piper might take a light nap this afternoon.  :-*

Tsk, I love Korean rice cakes. My sister's MIL makes delicious rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves and steamed, Filipino recipe. YUM!

{{{Phyl}}} I hope you and Jim are okay today and your not feeling the effects of yesterday's accident... beautiful nature video and winter poem.

Lisa, you might donate your cookies to the homeless shelter... Mike called Firestone and they have a battery for my car, which is located in the truck over the tire on the driver side. I guess they have to part of the back seat out too. Whatever? It was hard to find the battery. Thank goodness we can jump start my car under the front hood. Anyway, they can replace the battery this afternoon. WHEW!

Clynn, pretty morning posts.... love SWFL pic of baby and dad.... enjoy your snow, our junipers are already starting to bloom their yellow mustard seeds. Mike is so allergic to that. Usually they don't turn until late March or early April.... the value of a single tree provides so much  :-*

Tig, Sounds like special times and memories being made for Camper and grandsons.... Your home sounds cozy and welcoming.... I'll keep some indoor Christmas lights up till the end of January.

Clynn, the picture of DesMoines looks like something out of an old b&w movie!
Y Christmas lights are multi colored but I could leave it all up until January 12!    Little Christmas!    Probabky won’t!
Cold  week or two coming up.  High of only 58 degrees today!
Help  not
coming. her sister found their father on the floor and they

 Are at   The
 hospital with him
Love M15!  He  loves the babies, juvies, etc!  A very caring eagle!

Voila!....new garbage disposal and new faucet at same sink!...been using only the right side of my two sided sink for 10 days...dishes don't really get cleaned well with that set up...

previous disposal was 20 years old and faucet over 26...started leaking a bit with bad rotation valve.

LOL, Lori!! Thank you, sez Zippo!  ;D :-* Sometimes we celebrate her birdday on the 1st, to coincide with celebrating the New Year, but this year we are celebrating it on Jan. 3rd - tomorrow!! Zip sez Oh Boy!!  ;D  That's because the 3rd is the anniversary date of the day Zippo came to live at my home.  :-* :-* She turns 37 years old tomorrow!!  :) :-*

HAPPY NEW YEAR, BEAKERS!!  :)  I wish 2025 to be a better year for All!  :-* :-*

I never turned on my computer on New Year's Eve, I don't think, and I definitely didn't turn it on New Year's Day, LOL, but I'm here!  ;D

Zippo says Chirp! Thank you! to ALL! who wish her a happy birdday!  :) :-* We have often celebrated it on Jan. 1st, to coincide with celebrating the New Year, but this year we are celebrating her birdday on Jan. 3rd - tomorrow! Woot! Jan. 3rd is the anniversary of the date Zippo came to live with me!  :-* :-*  But she did get some extra treats yesterday for New Years, and her pre-birdday... lots of extra raw almonds - Thanks, Lori! LOL. You re-supplied her with those from your cake.  ;) :D  Tomorrow I will cook a sweet potato for her - one of her favs! She will be 37 years old!  :-*

I didn't think I would stay up till midnight on The Eve, but I got a 2nd wind, and I did! That made for a late breakfast yesterday - around lunchtime, LOL! I didn't open the bubbly on The Eve, so I opened it yesterday for breakfast at lunchtime, and made Mimosas - to go with my big pot of coffee and a large slice of Carrot Cake - the Breakfast of Champions!  ; :D  Happy New Year to Me, I told myse'f!!   ;D 8) Later, I made blackeyed peas with sausage and greens for my good luck New Year's Day dinner, along with a batch of yummy cornbread and butter. I added some shredded cheddar cheese and fresh chopped jalapenos to the cornbread batter, and it came out great - just used a box of good old Jiffy mix... kept it all very simple this year... and Mimosas went great with that dinner, too!  ;D

I'm c-c-cold, and heading across the street to check the mail, and then I'm going to make some homemade veggie soup for dinner, to have with some leftover cornbread. Nothing since breakfast, so I'm hungry!
  :D

Good night, (((Beakers))). Peace. SED.  :-*

 ;D ;D

Old Lang Sign, y'all!  ;) :D
