tsk, I remember Keystone! Always posted in the wee hours, we always thought he/she was a little tipsy! You missed Naimoj! She posts on FB a lot, mostly food or political. I never comment. I can't remember a poster that was close to Decorah, she lived close to The Wapsipinicon River. Was it Samonson? Yes, I think that was it and she's on your list!   Can't remember the last forum name Iceline used when he sneaked back in the last time! I need to split some hostas this spring, I think it would be the easiest when they first pop up out of the ground

oldguy, love that Berry Tiramisu Trifle you cooked up for tig!  Yum! And so pretty!

Phyl, beautiful sunflower pics this morning! I am so happy to know that Jack and Audacity will have the little one to raise this year!

Happy Day, Beakers!

Lani, sorry about the Jayhawks' game. Boo hiss. My Heels are playing now, and I don't like the score so far. I hope it turns around! Fingers crossed!

Karen, I hope you enjoy your new timepieces. I hope all is progressing well with the dental work. Don't mess with that nearby tooth. Hopefully it will settle back to normal soon. If the time was lit up on my ceiling at night, I would consider that a bad day, er, night, in hell.  8)

BL, yes, I got my pilot license when I was in my early 30s. Did most all of my training in multiple different models of Cessnas. Lucky for me, I learned to fly at a small, in-the-country, airport, where lots of retired airline pilots (and they were almost all former military pilots) hangared their planes - mostly vintage aircraft - a very wide variety of aircraft. They took me under their wing, so to speak, pun not intended this time. I hung out with them on the weekends, in their hangars, or in the FBO, with pots of stews or soups or chili on top of the woodburning stove on cold, bad weather days. They invited me to fly with them often, so I got to log lots of hours in those vintage aircraft - all kinds... Piper Cubs, all kinds of Taylorcraft/taildraggers, aerobatic open air biplanes, classic Air Force and Navy Air military training aircraft - different kinds, including sliding canopy, etc. I often flew with them on weekends to some other small airports, where pilots from all over would gather just to howdy-do and kick each others' tires in the tie-down area... usually at places where there was also some good grub, either at the airport, or very nearby. Many of those little airports would loan us a car to go grab a bite nearby, if we asked. Those guys were very nice to me, and taught me a lot, too.  :-* I got to take off and land at all kinds of runways - paved airports and private strips, as well as grass strips here and there, some private property ones if invited to after waggling our wings at the owner. I only got to fly in float planes as a passenger. Once you have a pilot license, you always have one, unless the FAA revokes it for some reason. But I haven't been current in many years now. I still look up to ID single engine planes overhead whenever I hear that familiar sound, which immediately transports me, in my mind, to the left seat and staring at the instrument panel.

Back to the game. Later, Beakers!
:)

CLYNN   Yes I forgot Nai and Karen reminded me I also forgot Nanimal's friend Linda ( we went all together and you knew her from those visits) who worked as a volunteer at Ojai.  I can't for the life of me think of her last name - She would write wonderful posts of her training sessions and her time spent at Ojai.  She died of a brain tumor   Next to Keystone's name I had "Odd"  LOL
Iceline went by several names .  He was always in trouble ...LOL

BAZI   How interesting about your years in the air!

LISA    and I would have loved it - the early set up LOL

KAREN    I just thought of Linda's last name - Mc Pherson!

I remember Keystone as the one to infrequently post some songs and encouraging others to do as well and called it the Sat. night concert.  I could never get a vibe on his/her background, other than a music fan or maybe a musician.  I don't think Keystone was under the influence when posting, as the posts were very controlled with no identifying info.  Almost all of the posts were after 9pm on a Sat. night and then stop about 1am.  One of the posts remarked that the forum needed more music.

Oh tsk thanks so much for remembering McPherson. I don’t know why that’s hard for me to keep in my mind. I believe Nanimal told me that just a few years ago.    Linda’s descriptions of her training and handling. The birds was very interesting and you almost felt like you were with her in that rehab place. I’m sure they miss her as she was quite dedicated to that job. I’m sure also that her daughter misses her as well.
Those early days in the back, we will be something. It was almost a full-time job to keep up.
Az Interesting description of your flight school training sessions. I know you had a great time and learned a lot..  I worked with a man who flew during World War II and went to a training school as you described after the war ended. His discussions of life were fascinating. When I knew him, he was no longer in the fight business, although I think his heart was still there. I think once a pilot always a pilot
TIG happy birthday you have had some marvelous treats today and I’ve tasted some of all of them absolutely delicious Lori you again came through with fabulous birthday treat and great pictures. I can’t say that the rest were wonderful but you seem to score 100% every time.
Interesting discussion on toilets, particularly the flesh function. I’ve noticed that with my color as well.

Lisa, you’re a little bird and the bird cup was too cute for words. Truly enjoyed your morning picture.
Lynn, your morning yellows remind me of the Midwest and forsythia so much I neighbor here grew forsythia bush, but it just doesn’t do well in the heat. Many things need the lawn chill of a winter. We don’t have that.
Phyl, You are sunflowers, share a reminder of the summer to come love the cherry faces
Will sign off now. Wish everyone TGIF.

Some one mentioned of looking for plants for the yard - our suppliers made the first delivery a week ago - shrubs, fruit trees and arborvitae.  The next day they delivered potted flowers - pansies and some garden plants.  So if your in Iowa or Ill. and your yard is ready for some new plants, checkout your favorite plant store.  Minn. may be available in another 1 - 2 weeks.
