tsk - your recipe for chops in the crock pot sounds really good and it sounds like they wouldn't get too dry.

How long would you guess you put them in the crock pot and at what setting?

HAPPY DAY, BEAKERS!  :)

It's a gorgeous afternoon here - 75 degrees right now, with severe clear skies. Yep, I'm headed out for a nice neighborhood walk.

Take care, All, and enjoy your day!  :) :-*

Hi Baz, Great post! I hope you had a good day too!

Phyl, love your morning posts, would make cute puzzles.... I pray your doc appt was promising.....sweet Sandpipers..

Clynn, poor Valentina Vassilyeva.... can you imagine? :P . God bless her. ... beautiful morning posts.... what a beautiful day for Shadow and Jackie... there's a couple of Ravens that have been bothering them these last few days.

Tig, .. yes, in like a lamb for us too.... Pork Chops! YUM! Love them fried in a skillet or broiled in the oven. I have some chops in the freezer... you're making brownies too. Yummy dinner! Enjoy!!!

Oldguy, Great way to cook bone-in chops! Pork Chop gravy is the best! The Dutch Oven Beefy Mushroom Steak recipe sounds delicious.

Lisa, You had a nice early spring day....  it was 88 in Scottsdale today... early warm days here. I'm so glad when we head back up to the pines!

Karen, what a lovely afternoon you and Piper enjoyed... Mike enjoys watching Antique Road Show when he's bored with sports. Then he starts looking around our home wondering what antique item might be worth a dollar or two. LOL!

Tsk, your pork chop recipe sounds delicious! I'll have to try that sometime. Mike would't like it, but I could freeze in bags for me when he's out of town. I usually broil pork chops when he's out of town.

Kb, I'm hungry for pork chops now!

There will be no wild spring flowers from Payson to the valley... Landscape looks dry and brittle.. no wild grass for the critters to enjoy.... ugh.. I pray March goes out like a Lion and we have rain!!

OLDGUY  Thanks for that info.  I just became aware of olive oil specifically for frying.....I use it for stir fry for example.

KB     I just looked up the recipe to be sure.  Bone in pork chops, topped with 1 can cream of chicken soup mixed with the dry packet of ranch dressing ( the one to make dips) and 1/2 can of water.   6 hours on Low   There are lots of variations on this and can be used for chicken pieces or substitute the soup or the packets.

LANI   What a shame your ride to the valley wasn't more scenic.  I remember when my traveling friend from Vancouver Wa. and I went to Tucson and B&B'd and spent 5 days or so exploring the area.  Went hiking in the Sonoran desert expecting to see lots of blossoms - Nothing as it had been a dry winter.  It was disappointing as that was one reason we went there LOLOL

Morning Zoom today...

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, I am praying for some rain for the pines! My Dad used to always marvel at how good the Iowa chops (1.5" thick) were that Ed cooked on the old $88 Sunbeam grill that was falling apart! That's about the only way we eat pork chops now, although on a nice Weber grill!  Love the picture of the bunny ears peeking out of the frozen grass!

Phyl, thinking of you this morning and wondering how your Dr. appointment went. Hope you got some good news!

tsk, your pork chop method sounds good to me, but Ed would think it unheard of not to cook them on the grill... We'll see how he feels when he's older...

karen, Mom loves to watch the Antiques Road Show, so does Ed!

Lisa, love your flower pots from yesterday!

Good Morning Beakers ...Fairy Tales from the Shadow Box

Last night some occasional showers.   Today 65F mostly sunny    and   Tonight  36F

Had a good Doc visit...a long one.
Reason for long recliner confinement was to insure a good healing. Doc said not to give my knee a second thought 'so-to-speak'
She saw no problem with my exercise bike as now it will serve to loosen my right knee...wear brace and take tension to lowest level and gradually
increase...slow pedaling for 5 minutes and gradually increase  time and speed as tolerated daily .  I'm released for evening walks w/ wo  brace that's up to me... again start off short walks.  Only wear brace if needed. Take stairs as usual...icing not necessary. Bruising and swelling will take  a few more months as is normal w/ this sort of injury. PT was set up at Star Phys Therapy weekly and shall address Vertigo issues as well. Until then I'm to use the previous exercise sheet for knee strengthening. I'm to return in 4  weeks.
I had been feeling pretty low...the 'dull drums'. Now  feeling much happier and lighter of spirit .

Such sad, sad news about actor Gene Hackman , his wife and their beloved pet. He is one of my favorite actors. RIP Gene!

Clynn, poor Valentina Vassilyeva... her life story is written on her face.  :(

Tig  /  OG   nice dinner last night

Lani-.,sad you'll not have spring wildflowers in the valley. Perhaps later in the spring it will improve and you'll have some

Lisa, sounds like a nice early spring day for you; loved the rustic posts and their spring flowers inside

OG / Tig, love pork chops  too.

Lani, add me to the 'praying ...rain for the pines' list

Tsk, Huey, Louie and Dewy off to some 'mischief'

Prayers for:  Victims of natural  and Man-made disasters plus those who rescue them. The Fallen / Our Allies in Defense of our country. And   #47.   Police and First Responders.   'Little Gray' and 'Little One' and  all abandoned, abused , lost cats , stray, unloved, homeless  and feral cats.
The Bluebirds of Cane Ridge, Tennessee,  Sauces bald eagle cam nest, Hummingbirds, Bumble Bees  and Honey bees everywhere . As always, Beakers, Cheers and RRP / families.

Good Morning,

clynn, We lived in Mainz. We were Army. I'm familiar with the towns you mention. So pretty over there and along the Rhine River and all the castles in different towns. My first two children were born in Wiesbaden AF Hospital. After delivery and resting afterward I was handed bed sheets/pillow cases and told where my room was to then go to fix bed for myself. I was surprised! Lol
We moms went into hallway to get our meals off carts then back to rooms to eat. We all had fun together.

tsk, Agreed to smiling about no coyotes. We lived in Mainz, Germany. The first time I went to a flower shop I said I was buying flowers as a gift to a friend. I was told not to use the word gift but to say present because for that locale gift meant poison. Surprised me!

Tig, You made me hungry for pork chops.

Phyl! Good news! Yay!

I wish all in the Beak Room a pleasant day. Take care.

some bounce

R.I.P. Gene. A great.

Pool was quiet today. Nice.

Off to the basement for a half day... laundry.

I think I'll cook up chicken breasts tonight and add to a corn chowder.

Past Royalcam parent news

The parents of Manaaki have one of the older chicks this season and YRK (parent of Atawhai and Lilibet) and her new mate also have a chick. At 31 years of age YRK is a very experienced breeder having raised 8 chicks (including 2 foster chicks) previously. GLY and L, the parents of Manaaki are raising their 4th chick. These chicks are both older than the Royalcam chick and are also in the post-guard stage.

The Royalcam chick was left alone by RLK/A85 on day 26 for the first time on day 26. He returned 1 hour 40 minutes later after a short trip out to sea.

A few days ago I was wondering if anyone could figure out what road is in the Van Morrison video below ..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrsq1werkfs

It was one of Pip's "Dart throws" from many moons ago. 2010 maybe ?

Answer: The dart hit almost exactly on Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park, MT.

Montana Hwy 2 southbound next to the Jefferson River heading into Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park, very nice park BTW.   8)
We exited from  I-90.

Exited off the interstate (Interstate 90) to make the 7 mile trip to Lewis and Clark cavern in Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park in Cardwell, Montana, about an hour SE of Butte.  Song is Philosopher's Stone by Van Morrison of his album 'back on top'.
