1436 -- Ooops dad brought in a meal, showed it to mom, then hopped around her on dove off the perch and glided on down out of sight.......wonder if she didn't show enough interest or he thought there might be a little to feed..........

1858 Mom came and wants her eggs back.  As she was getting settled the egg to the right looks like it has a pip over on its right side......

1657 -- I'm not sure what's what.  When the adults switched and that front egg rolled a bit it looked like a bunch of white fluff sticking out??

Hope this isn't too messed up, we were in LaCrosse all afternoon.......

About 1510 a big part of a shell came out.....


Not sure what time hatch #2 came about. but believe this was hatch #3.

1656 dad brought a bird and mom took it...




1741 mom brought a meal....


1746 #3 is in view!

I truly don't think the 4th egg is going to hatch, it's not looking good at all.  I think it had tried.

I haven't quite decided WHAT they had for breakfast at 0703 this morning.  Mom went out and met dad who had caught a very large bird.  Dad hopped in and just about trampled the kids and mom brought it into the nest box.  There was a HUGE pile of feathers when she got done.  Looking at the feet I had an idea of coot, but the tummy looked light colored.  Any ideas???  Grebe?
