Feeding duties shared by Newman and Elaine.  Seems to me that Elaine does most of the hunting and feeding lately.

Nest box views this morning.  Elaine spends the night in the nest box to guard the little ones.  Newman might sometimes, too.

The eyases look bigger and not so babyish now.  Some dark body feathers emerging along with tails and great long wings.  Banding time almost here.

Elaine is kept busy providing food for the four eyases.  She is looking very slim.

Supposed to be banding day at GSB.  The Clliff Cam went to highlights about 1:00 this afternoon.  At 2:00, the Nest Box Cam is still live.

Banding in process!  John (I think from only an elbow view) removed all four eyases from the box in about 90 seconds.  They did a lot of hollering in alarm, but check the rewind for how it's done.

Sounds on the rewind while the box is empty are from the highlights!

Check back in an hour or so to see if they are done with banding.

Bling day for the GSB Peregrine Falcons.   8)

Bob Anderson is above keeping everyone safe, smiling ear to ear and probably partaking in a cold one.  ;)

Great pics STLbf of the climber retrieving the 4 eyases from the nest box.

Here's what they're dangling off of to do that.

All four youngsters banded and returned safe and sound to the nest box in about one minute right around 3:00 this afternoon.  Amy did the return  trip, and did you notice that she worked bare-handed!  Amy the Awesome   ;D   ;D

She took time to clean out the box a bit and wipe off the camera lens before releasing the birds.  They all scolded loudly from release until Amy climbed out of sight.  Then it took a short while for them to settle down wearing their new bling.   RRP will supply the numbers, sexes, and names if they named each one as in past years.  Watch for Amy's blog and posting on the main page.

As of this posting time, Elaine has been perching on the snag branch not far from the nest box, but has not come into the box.  I'm guessing that she  or Newman will before dark.

Elaine made a quick food drop about 6:45 this evening, and left the eyases to self-feed.  Awkwardly.

Closeup of one band on a left leg:  Black 17 over Blue AH  (possibly Black 7)  Best to wait for the official list from RRP.

No parent in the nest box overnight, that's the first time, I think.  They were close by.

Multiple feedings this morning.  At least 2 cedar wax wings, must be migration time, and there are cedar trees near the nest box.
