Lodging information
  AFTER THE FLEDGE 2024

Well, here we are for another issue of After The Fledge 2024.  For some, I discovered last year, this may be your induction to the available program for room reservations, property selection, availability, and cost for our ATF get together.  I have contracted with Decorah hotels for rooms on hold for us.  Rooms are held at 4 locations at reduced rates; option deadlines are available until date indicated.  All arrangements must be made thru me, AND there is no additional charge.  Rooms are held for you using your information and credit card.  Nothing is charged until you arrive at the hotel.  You can also cancel the reservation if necessary at no charge if you do so before your arrival date.  Please call or email me if you have any other questions.

The Fledge this year is July 18 - 20, arriving July 17, departing July 21.  Additional days can be added if you prefer.

First, let me mention that there are no rooms assigned for us at Country Inn & Suites.  You are free to call and make your own reservations there.  888-405-2885.

Quality Inn & Suites         8 rooms available, 1 king or 2 queen beds
King $175 per night, 2 Queens $165 per night

Information on the Trout Run Trail Bike Ride, ATF 2024

The After The Fledge bike ride takes place Saturday, July 20. We'll meet at Decorah Bicycles at 9AM CT.  Located at 101 College Drive, Decorah, IA 52101, right next door to the Whippy Dip. :)  Phone number: 563-382-8209. Only Electric-pedal assist bikes are available for renting. They do not take reservations.  It's a first-come-first serve basis. We'll get fitted for bikes, helmets, and will be given a tutorial on how to ride the E-bike if you haven't ridden one. We hope to hit the trail by 9:30 AM CT.  Price for the bike rental is $49 for 1-4 hrs. We'll be riding the easier half of the trail which is from the bike shop to the hatchery and back.  It's a little over 4 miles each way.  We'll take a break at the hatchery before heading back. Water and fruit will be provided.  Here's the link to Decorah Bicycles: https://www.decorahbicycles.com/articles/rentals-pg235.htm There are 2 larger hills that we'll encounter so the E-bike pedal assist should come in handy.  It's a beautiful ride and we go past N2B too!  For those that want to do the entire trail, it's an 11-mile loop around the city. https://parks.decorahia.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/TRT_TrailMap-2.jpg We'll be riding numbers #0-4 and end up where the Eagle is on the map. :)

I found an older video of a virtual bike ride on Trout Run Trail.  What's cool is one our 2011 juveniles is in the video.  There is a bug photobomb too. lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBDeUJET3OM and here's another video showing our Decorah Eagles in it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayIRtBL0O34

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me here in the forum or on my Glogdog Decorah FB page.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at After The Fledge!
