I missed all 13th warnings - Had my bad day on the 12th, beat the 13th rush.
All I did was take a stroll out to the mailbox - an early morning 911 and a bonus to trip to Good Sam. Bundled up good, was just strolling, early quiet, no rush. Did everything right except stay on my two feet.
Let's just get it out -- two bones fractured in my left wrist. I know it was my fault totally. Was not rushing, just let my mind roam and plan else I had to do that morning. Vital rule/caveat people over 60? No multi-tasking. One thing at a time. I even had good shoes, no ice, sun coming up. Brain turned off. Upps, big no-no. Biggest problem (my alibi) is it was the fault of my Crocs and my slate entryway. No, not wearing my flip-flops. In winter I swish over to Crocs Brooklyn slip-ons. Hate the looks of their flips, even though I probably have 3 dozens. In case the situation ever happens to you. . . All Crocs don't slip, very safe, found that out as a good reason to buy so many (even tho they're ugly). Second, when cold hits slate flooring it will form either dampness or outright frost. And I repeat, my mind wandered.
In 4 weeks they'll check out what stage I'm in. Might be 6-8 weeks. Present situation: Christmas cancelled on my end. About half through decorations, niece's husband was just here on Tuesday to get things down or out; cards and stuff laying all over dinette ready to write; list made for all the food, fish, cookie stuff --- just think of all the $$$$ saved. Thought I'd able to handle things - but then again, I could drive, I could get into the car, I could just flash the CC and have things delivered - BUT - I wouldn't be able to close the car door to even leave the garage(left side, big, heavy door). Ergo special dispensation granted!!!
I LOVE CHRISTMAS AND ALL THE TRIMMINGS. This will be the second time in my home (1971) that I have to cancel. :'( :'( :'( .........
