OMG! How bout them CHIEFS!!! AFC WEST CHAMPIONS!!!   8)

Puff, you have lots of wonderful memories and historical knowledge of your travels...  you should write a travel book.  ;D

Clynn, I read your comment about the Litter Robot app. I removed it from my iphone. I didn't like it, it was too controlling of my phone... and I use another non clumping litter. Norman doesn't like to be confined, it frightens him, he has the most pitiful cry if he gets locked in somewhere...  I love seeing tiktok videos of people traveling with their pets. One trucker had a great three tier shelf rack lined with blankets for his three cats. And a mesh for their safety... So cute.... what a great story of the cargo ship Felicity Ace. I don't remember the story...  Can you imagine the cost of that cargo?!

Tsk, both cats are use to the sounds the litter robot box makes when it's turning the litter. They can ignore the sound if their busy at their cat dishes. They use to run out of the room like their tails were on fire...

Phyl, love the Peregrine falcon on today's nature video...

Lisa, floor color is perfect! It blends well with any design style....

Karen, I almost forgot you're having guest for Christmas.  ;D ... love Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree.  :-*

Hi Kb, Tig Congrats on Viking's win!

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, I hope the cats will take to the new litterbox, you just never know! They all have their little quirks! Hooray for the Chiefs!  How happy is Mike?? Yahoo! Love the marshmallow!

BL, wonderful Sunday Morning Coming Down...

karen, feels good to have the carpets clean! You are ready for your Christmas company!  Is your Christmas tree up?

Lisa, your flooring choice is just what I would pick, not too light, not to dark, just warm and toasty! I love watching the home shows! If I am busy, I watch the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes, I love seeing the differences!

Phyl, love the views of the French Alps and then there's a beautiful falcon! Perfect!

tsk, is Tim back to normal now? It's funny how 'normal' changes over time...

Iowa Road Trip - The Grant Wood Window - It's a stained glass window located in the Veterans Memorial Building in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that was created by artist Grant Wood.   The window is 20 by 24 feet and contains 57 window panels and over 9,000 pieces of glass.  A robed female figure is the centerpiece and is said to represent the "Republic".  At the base are six soldiers representing the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish-American War, and World War I.

Grant Wood's most famous painting:

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

CLYNN  Nice neighbors!!!       LOL  I do the same thing with some of those home shows.  Record and then watch only the parts I want.    You are SO right about what "normal" becomes  ::)    For now it is being out of the hospital and not bleeding!!  We will talk with his cardiologist on the 18th about all the blood thinner he is taking.   WOW  What a stunning Grant Wood window.

PHYL   We do littler the old fashion way - scoop it clean daily - Tim's job!

LANI  I see we had another gruff looking pontiff yesterday.  Probably needing to fund raise for more dog food distribution!  ;D   No question about those Chiefs!!!

LISA    Beautiful choice - would have been mine as well.  :)

KB     Congrats to the Vikings as the Bears sink into the depths of embarrassment !

KAREN     Good market at the time to sell that Alabama home.  What year was that?      When is Mickey coming???

Just realized I forgot to post last night.

Hosting girls party today at 11:30.  Already one friend cannot come - In hospital! with what was thought to be gall bladder but is not...Getting old is not easy!

Phyl, love your little Christmas kids!  The Evening Grosbeaks in the 365 are very pretty! Unique female, the males look like they have a mask over their eyes!  We had wonderful temps over the weekend, up to 60 yesterday, supposed to get to 54 today. Then cold, then back up again. Glad to hear that Dan is doing well!

tsk, yes, the neighbors across the street are great, we help each other. When Kelsey makes lasagna or spaghetti. I often take some over to them. They love it! I try to earn the Christmas cat feeding they provide...  Have a good time at your lunch with the girls!

Royal Albatross update

The 2024–25 season features male RLK (named for his colored leg bands: Red, Lime, blacK) and female GLG (Green, Lime, Green) nesting at the Signal Station Trig nest site. This is the pair's first season on the Northern Royal Albatross Cam. The fertile egg was laid on November 11, 2024.

Known by their colour bands and identified as male or female by their size (the average male is larger than the average female). They share the incubation of the egg which takes on average 79 days, around 2.5 months. Occasionally, we should get a glimpse of the egg as the parent stands briefly.

Changeover times can be around 2 weeks; adult albatross are perfectly adapted to going without food for this time. It was a quick turn around for GLG for her last foraging stint and she was only away for 5 days.

The Royalcam pair will receive GPS tags.

Geo Positioning Tags are very light weight and are cable tied to the strong back feathers between the wings. They will fall off after around a year when these feathers are moulted. We will receive the data via satellite so do not need to retrieve the device to see the information that it has gathered of the bird’s whereabouts.

Mom GLG is back on the nest she will be the first of the pair to be tagged, likely later in the week on Friday. The egg will be placed in the incubator during the process and returned once she is settled on a dummy egg on the nest. We hope to gain foraging location insights from the data.

The NEFL Hamlet - Gabrielle and Beau

Welcome NE 30!! First egg for the season for Gabby & Beau!!!

Dec 9, 2024

AEF NEFL~Beau arrived on Wallenda this am, Gabby  got up off egg and went up to balcony out of sight on cam 4 - but you can hear her vocals. Beau went to nest and saw the egg for the first time. He studied it and aerated around the egg.  After a few mins he settled down incubating. He appeared to take good care and was very gentle with the egg.  This is so exciting to see!

Clynn, stunning stain glass window... love the cheetah pic... you have wonderful neighbors, I know they feel the same about you, Kelsey and Ed.  :-* .. our night temps are dropping this next week from 30's into 20's and no moisture in sight. It's been a couple of weeks since any moisture. It's dry, so many of us are taking our water hoses or water buckets and watering a few pines or trees that need water... supposedly it'll be a dry winter in Arizona.

Tsk, have a lovely girls party! Prayers for your friend.... Tim's new normal is good... I clean Norman's box daily too.

Phyl, love your Christmas decor... glad all is well with Dan! ... love how peaceful it was on the bird feeder until the Grosbeaks arrive.  ;D ... beautiful nature video.

Lisa, safe travels to appt. I hope all goes well.

Lisa - I do understand about the doors..remember when I reluctantly replaced my old solid wood door (1958) with windows  and replaced with a steel front door, though looks like wood?....

For us we hired a handyman and it took him 2 days to fit it...yeah, it's a process to fit new doors in old framing.
But i am still thrilled with it. The windows in the old door were leaking....now nada, so warmer, much warmer.
We also got a new storm door just before so the front looks great and functions well.

So important!

Eventually I'll need to replace my basement (walk out rambler) door. Not the door as it's steel but the windows are leaking so I cover windows with 3 m window seal in the winter which is getting old for me to do.

My concern is I can't find a similar door with as much window. As i sleep downstairs and see outside as it is.
I don't want to lose my view!

OMG! How bout them CHIEFS!!! AFC WEST CHAMPIONS!!!   8)

YAYAYAYAY!!!!!  :D Lani, can you believe their single score win streak?!?  Watching that last-second field goal go all wonky had me holding my breath and seemed to take forever to see if it would go over the crossbar and between the posts!! But, WOOT! - it did!!  ;D ;D  (That kicker has an interesting story, that I didn't know before, too.)
