I want this job!

Phyl - Indeed. I have had enough "Whews" this month...

My maple is maybe 50 percent down...hopefully soon enough for one last mow and rake off the grass before putting away for the winter and swapping the placement of mower/snowblower inside garage.

Most of my shrubs still have not dropped all or most of their leaves yet..no big deal as they don't drop on the grass.

This smokebush of mine in the back yard is unusually colorful as she gets ready to drop this year.
Picture doesn't do her color justice.

some bounce

We have spent the last two days pruning... service berries, iris, lavender, hydrangea (blooms too big to survive snowfall). Today will be the mowing. And a good drink of water for the trees tomorrow.

We picked up our Christmas cards yesterday and then visited: https://wellsroadside.com/
A fun place. It was nearby.

CLYNN   Love the upside down kitty  ;D    Tim had the tree lights on last night and really liked it but I have so many ornaments I love and I will need to purge them again this year even more than usual as I have 1 foot less to decorate.  :o   I hate to part with my ornaments.   Barb did something simple like that with her tree - bows etc.  She only has it up a couple weeks before leaving again for Florida.       SWFL  Would you look at all those corn husks  LOL

PHYL  That Savannah cat is gorgeous.

KB   You take 1/2 day and I'll take the other half on that Job  :) ;) ;D

LANI   Like the lion gif  ;D

TIG   Cute place to have lunch  ;D

Had a new 2 step front porch installed yesterday.  The first step has had a horizontal crack in it for a couple years.  So in redoing it we had them deepen the first step and is now safer for us old people to go up and down.  Of course in the process they damaged a cute gold mop cypress shrub . Dang - think half of it is gone.  >:(   Going out now to survey the damage.  Had I know that might happen I would have taken precautions.  Dang!

tsk - I think they owe you a new gold mop cypress shrub....whether you took care or not, I think they should have known..

Oh, I dunno about sharing that job with you...I'll think about it ;) ;)

I was planning on picking up some maple leaves off my garden once again today, but it's so windy I'll wait now till another day..she might be down by tonight!

It's a pain to use a rake/blower to move the large leaves into piles to then rake up best I can without mulch and throw into a large round leaf holder..
But, I enjoy her so much I can't complain.

Well, it's been a busy, long, hard week for all of us outdoor doers.  The final outside just left.  Fellow came to open, drain the water and air, and open the sprinkling system.  This week I also had gutters cleaned, grass cut, outside windows washed, niece's husband and son helped yard clearing of plants, hose, table/chairs covered, moved "stuff" to patio to cover over with tarp, brought in begonias to garage to be saved for next year, set up heated water bowl for birds (have to drain and cover fountain yet).  And. . . until leaves are all down or mostly down, there are two more trips scheduled to clean up the yard of leaves.

Next week a new set of projects - I mentioned?  I have hired some help. . .Instead of taking down it's putting up.  Tuesday it's take down the fall and Thanksgiving "stuff" and take out/put up the Christmas "stuff".  Help for outside displays and lights and inside tree and lights.  I'll handle all my precious "stuff" myself too, tsk.

I smiled a big grin for your tale too, tsk.  Maybe Wednesday or Thursday night I woke up thinking of my special, precious ornaments.  (I know I mentioned too that Tony knew keep your hands off - I'll do my ornaments thank you.)  Many tears and big smiles go with each and every one.  My niece Michelle does stop by to hang the big wreaths, the sparkly white snow flake against the black velvet drapes, and take down the valuable "stuff" from the high shelves.  Inside "stuff" starts Tuesday.       And just for added interest I have 3 work related meetings this week, too.   :-\

I almost forgot - Upside down kitty was so cute!  Thanks all for your Caturday "fix".

Happy Caturday, Beakers!!  :D

I would love to see Angkor Wat. I remember my good friend, who I visit in Atlanta on occasion, got to see it on a trip, and also part of the massive life-sized Terracotta Army in China - soldiers, horses, and chariots - over 8,000 of them, and no 2 are alike. Not all of them were available to the public/tourists, I think I remember, due to needing to protect them from environmental exposure, and also because a lot of it is still being excavated. She and her sister have taken several of the National Geographic trips. Lucky them! $$$$ !! My niece and her husband got to visit Angkor Wat on one of their trips before my LGN and Baby Bro were born.

China's Terracotta Army is a UNESCO World Heritage Site:

(Be sure to see the video at the top - above the title of the article!)

Clynn, thanks for that great cam shot of the North Nest with all the corn husks! Glad to see the Sydney Sea Eagle parents are around and okay, and that SE33 is recovering, fingers crossed.  :-*

Lisa, I hope all is coming along well in Mobile!

TSK, oh no, your shrub got sacrificed in your front porch re-do! Yep, they should reimburse you for a replacement!

Lani, I just gave out last night, like you did the night before! I slept a good 6 hours, so I'm re-energized a bit today. I am heading out for a walk soon. Sunny blue skies here today! Sounds like Shannon's move has been going well. Glad she found a place to lease and Kona is happily sacked out after the trip.  :) :-*  I have my DVR set to record the Chiefs game tomorrow, just in case, but I'm planning on watching it live, or at least most of it. I have my snacks in store for it! LOL. Wish I had some of Mike's Cozy Burgers though!  :D

Karen, do you and Piper have any Thanksgiving plans yet? Zippo and I will be home. I've decided to do a pork roast instead of turkey, and will put lots of onions in the pan with it. I'll make some form of sweet potatoes - one of Zip's favs! So she will get some plain cooked sweet potato. But I have to have dressing and gravy, so I will make some of that. And an Apple Caramel pie, which is tempting me in the freezer! LOL, but I'm saving it for T'Day!  ;)

KB, that Maple is gorgeous! Good year for your Smoke Bush.

BL, sounds like you and Pip helped out the fire crews - and Kopje was ready and willing! I hope those fires in the Northeast will get a good dousing of rain before long. So many of them. I saw about that one fire that has been burning underground since this past June.

Oldguy - that was some trip those people took!

Phyl, did you get your front-porch shrubs in the planter yet? What kind of shrub do you usually like to put in that? Do you light or decorate them for Christmas?

Puff, whoa! That's a lot! You are organized, and it's going to look great!

Tig, that's a lot of yard work! Davis Cup Final 8 2024 play in Malaga, Spain starts Tuesday, on the Tennis Channel. I will try to watch Rafa play - my boyfriend will retire afterward... boo hoo...

I'm off for a quick walk. Later, Gators! :D

PUFF   Glad to hear you've hired some help.  Keeping up your home when the two of you were there was hard enough.  You have a busy - fun - week coming up.  I like not having Thanksgiving this year as I can do just a little bit each day to get Xmas up and not get exhausted.   I did buy a turkey breast and will have Tim's Uncle Jim over to join us on turkey day.

BAZI   Wow your niece got to see Angkor Wat.  Very cool.    I've never seen pictures of the life like clay figures.  Now that I could walk on the new porch I got a better look at my gold floppy cyprus as I got closer.  Ground branches were smashed down but not broken so I got out a couple of my plant supports and staked the downed limbs straight.  We shall see if it makes it this winter.

No tree up yet. I pretty much  follow Roman Catholic traditions, feast days and all that.  All my decorations   are family heirlooms or vintage European. I usually have Americana on the front porch. But, no tell'n what I'll do on the porch this year.
I always keep evergreen shrubs  may be a Japanese Holly 2'  in the wicker planter. And, keep them dwarfed

Got inspired by a submitted snap on Pinterest the other day.. this afternoon...I pulled up the bath carpet in master bath  and pulled up carpet tape then used 'Goo Be Gone on the residue . Cleaned base boards, mopped  and rinsed the floor with diluted bleach to brighten it up a bit. then I hand dried it to speed up the process. Now all's left is replacing some tired old doors and drawers  Don't know how I'll fly that part by Jim. I'll figure it out---always do.

Thanks for the Caturdays. I'm, tuckered out Kid-os
I'm still struggling with MS Outlook for Mall
I don't like  'Outlook' mostly because the prog wont allow me to 'customize' the reading pane as opposed to Win Mail.
