some bounce
A record 80 yesterday, rain and snow and in the 30s today!
I had to go out in it this morning for a minor car repair. Then, laundry day. We might see Conclave later.

Good Morning Beakers.....HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Phyl - Thanks for the 365's, and blog posts.  Glad that we didn't miss Jim's birthday.  What was his surprise dinner?

Lani - Love the pumpkin house from yesterday.

tsk - How is Tim after his fall, feeling ok? Remembering sweet willi :-*

baz - I use to get a diagnostic mammogram, not sure what the difference is between that an a regular one. I thought those were like 3D ones.  They had found an area, had a biopsy on it, and for a few years after the biopsy I got the diagnostic mammos.  I am back on the regular ones now.

tig - Congrats to Great-grandpa Camper and to you too, great-grandma!

BL - Gorgeous trees in that pic from 2006.

Lori - Love your post for Breast Cancer Awareness.

oldguy - Thanks for the videos.

Puff, kb, karen - Morning  :)

Happy Halloween, Beakers!  :)

This stinker has had his way with my porch decoration  LOL

TSK, LOL! Great pic! But oh no about your front porch decoration!! I guess he says the "trick" is on you!  ;) :D :-*  Do I see what looks like him using it to stash his acorns now?!? Little Stinker!  8)

Lisa, when I got my last mammogram this past summer, the tech told me all mammograms now are 3D, and have been for a while. That's all I know about that. Glad you're back to a regular screening now.  :)

Tig, congrats to Camper for getting ready to become a Great Grandfather!!  That will make you a Great Grandmother, too!

Lani, I didn't get to watch the Chiefs' game last weekend because my local CBS affiliate showed the Carolina Panthers game instead. I don't follow the Panthers anymore - they lost me years ago. Though I did get to take advantage of a Tuesday deli sub and beverage for $2 special at my Harris Teeter thanks to a Panthers special they run for when they make 2 or more sacks in a game.  ;) ;D But I saw the Chiefs won their game, and are now the only undefeated NFL team so far this season. Looking forward to their Monday Night game, which I will be able to watch! Go Chiefs!  :D

BL, love your pictures - those flaming red trees and shrubs are gorgeous in the last pic with Bob the Outdoor (No Joke!) Cat!  :-* :-*  Good story about Bob.  :-* Earlier than average snows like that are so memorable!

OG, glad you got the much-needed rain! Glad no severe weather damage for you. I saw the winds were really whipping around in lots of places, and there was tornado damage - I can't remember now - not in Iowa, that I know of though.

Clynn, I hope you and Kelsey avoided the gusty high winds and the stormy weather and arrived at your Mom's A-OK.

KB, send a snow report. I saw that a lot of the snow in your general area was turning to rain before hitting the ground earlier, though accumulation was still expected in many places, especially on the north side of Minneapolis. Your new porch design came just in time!

Karen, your World Series wish came true! I was kinda sorta hoping to see the Yankees win last night, mostly because no team had ever forced a Game 6 after losing the 1st 3 games of the World Series. And only a handful had forced a Game 5. I fell asleep after the Yankees took back the lead in the 6th, and woke to see the remainder of the game during the bottom of the 7th. What a game!  ;) :D Freddie Freeman had an incredible Series, and definitely deserved to be named the World Series MVP! Congrats to the LA Dodgers, your erstwhile Brooklyn Dodgers!  ;) :D  A good game summary:

A whole lot of wet snow here. Much melted on contact but my glider in back looks to have accumulated at least 3 inches...it's that kinds of snow that's like heavy frosting on a cake to shovel/broom off the decks.

Yes, just north of me was colder and had 3-5 inches...

Worse, there were 169 vehicle crashes before 2pm with 159 involving injuries. Many in the ditch.
Every year I try to stay off the roads during the first or second snow of the year as for some gosh reason people forget how to drive in it...every gosh dang year.

I've been involved with a health emergency for Chris for 2 weeks. 2 emergency room visits just this week.
Don't want to share his private medical info but it's been very stressful.  I haven't slept much in fact was woken at 1:30am today and took him to the hospital at 4:30 am.....he's not dying but the CT exam today revealed what's happening...Cross your fingers all.....thanks.

Heading for a much needed nap. House is black for very few trick or treaters on my block. I was the last one to continue for years....I give up now.

no bounce

KB... back to rain on this side of town. We lucked out, this time. I was concerned about your household. My intuition was correct. So sorry to hear about Chris. Hugs and prayers.

I really don't consider myself a mom, grandma, etc. since I don't have children, nor any maternal instincts. But, I " fake it till I make it", as it were.

Conclave was very good!

TIG   Let me know about Conclave.  You liked it.  Maybe I can talk Tim into going this weekend.

LISA    Like the skeleton mug  :o  Today we had a good day.  We went to vote in a 30+ mph wind using a walker up a long ramp  LOLOL     He got to sit on a chair inside while I waited in line.  He only took one nap today  YAY

LANI   Love the pet Halloween costumes  ;D

KB   Certainly prayers for Chris.  What a stressful situation for you both.

LORI   Love your Halloween posts ;D  You find many cute ones.

46 kids at the door for Trick or Treat.  Was surprised as it is SO WINDY and getting colder.
