TIG   Hope the Dodges lives up to expectations.  Sure looks like a beauty in the ads.  Stairs??

LANI   Spooky good night post  :)

So just got into bed last night  - had the window cracked open and thought I heard an owl.  Should I go and get my phone off the charger - turn it on and try to record it?  As you know the minute I do that, it stops.  Well last night I got lucky and the owl I was hearing was a great horned owl!  Who knew.  We seldom hear owls around here tho they are around.  Playback was not good however.  It's a pretty indistinct vocalization so did not record well.

Tomorrow we may break a record high for Oct 29!

Good Morning Beakers!

tsk, did the owl register on the Merlin? I tried using it while I was watching one of the eagle nests and it didn't register that it was an eagle calling. I wondered if it didn't register raptors! I turned it on the Dunrovin osprey nest and it identified several of the birds nesting below the big nest but havent tried it on an osprey on the cam. Hope Tim gets to come home today!  We are supposed to hit 77 today and 80 tomorrow! Then down to 51 on Wednesday...

Lani, love the good night pic and the cute Pontiff doggie yesterday! Is Mike home for the week? Glad to hear Aly is doing well!  The younger generations seem perfectly fine with Zoom meetings, she will do well with that!

tig, did you make it to Duluth in time to see the big ship pull in?  Those cabins look wonderful, right on the water! Any snow on the ground yet?

Phyl, lovely fall pictures last morning! I would love to walk that path... Are you and Jim back on the normal yet?

Lisa, you always find the best pics of cups of coffee!

karen, great pics of SWFL!  All is going well there!

Sydney Sea Eagle Cam -  Rohan Geddes  · A busy couple of hours after another very long day for some of the observers. The reward is to see the fledglings safe and growing stronger. An even greater privilege is to be held in the curious gaze of such a magnificent bird. More pics to come...

You had me checking the month of October, 1963,  tsk.

That was a memorable HOT month.  I remember it as the year my brother Rodney and SIL Judie were married.  October 26, 1963 - Old St. Michaels Church in Old Town Chicago.  Their record temp that year on the 26th was 84.  Actually the record highest for October was 94 on the 6th.  Was that a record maybe outside Chicago.  When did record quotes switch to O'Hare instead of Midway/Loop?

But there were a few dates set for October that year.  Wasn't suppose to be.  Our dresses were long sleeved green satin and we carried white fuzzy muffs (to keep our hands warm, LOL).

But it did cool down fast and cold for their honeymoon - they went on a camping trip with the native Canadian Indians north of the border.  Remote and cold.  Judie never forgot to throw that fact in yearly.   :-[  She was not a happy bride/camper/newly wed.  (My brother was a fishing fool until the end of his years.  Had a two flat in old town - his boat had the only spot his garage.  Would go out many mornings about 3 to get some catch before going to work.  It was tight quarters being in Old Town alleyways.  But the fishing had top spot.  On North Avenue and Wells, about 1/2 mile from lake/QuestionMark Pier.)

Memory break. . .

Bounce
We are in the Evergreen. I selected it due to the ramp approach. There is one small step up into the cabin. High of 63 and sunny today. Camper got up to take some pics of a laker heading up lake.
We'll prolly drive up the shore... or maybe back in to Duluth to get pics of big waves...

Lisa  enjoyed your AM graphic today; hope for good  test results; MC, beef , original chicken and turkey I cut off the top crust (we don't like a lot of crust) and bake with real butter on the rim, as per directions ... after cooling I use a huge serving spatula and slide them out of the baking pan serve in pasta bowl with a garnish.

Tig that sounds like a very nice day. IMHO

{{{Tsk/ Tim}}}    ?

Karen  many thanks for the nice snap of M15. LOL 'the stick master'  ;)

Lani  luv those 'Harry Potter' canines, I've got all the 'Harry Potter' saga books (Amer. & Bristish publish and language)  and film sets.
I don't like 'Harry Potter' do I? LOL

Bazi ROLF  ' Leg shaving season..."  Got rid of that chore decades ago.  ;)

CLYNN   The recording was not very good at all of the owl.  I checked it out on line and it was nothing like that on Merlin app.  Hey, thanks for the tip on the Hallmark Movie.  I'll be on the watch.  Lately I have them all recorded and not time to watch them .

PUFF   What an interesting honeymoon your brother had.  A true fisherman!  Don't know when O'Hare took over the record keeping.

LISA  Hard to believe that is Thursday!  I do have a Costco bag handy.  ;) ;)   How did the big squeeze go today?  LOL

TIG  Glad you like the place being it was a shot in the dark.

LANI   I hope there are places out there where they have costume contests for pets.  I'd love to go to one.  Love those beautiful dogs.

KAREN  M15  what a guy!!

BAZI   LOLOL  So enjoyed " leg shaving season over"  LOL

Cardioversion went well.  Home at 4:45 exhausted and I can hardly think straight but we had to get his pill box set up for the rest of the week,  He still has hospital brain so I need to help him with this.  Made him do his insulin and even tho he said he wasn't hungry , ate 2 rotisserie chicken legs, some small potatoes, beets, cottage cheese and garden cherry tomatoes and watermelon for dessert. Now the hard part starts - rebuilding energy levels each day.
Thank you all so much for your usual outpouring of good wishes and prayers. I so appreciate them.  HUGS
