Hi Beakers! Happy 1st Day of Summer!!  :)

This will be fast - I'm starving! Again. So I need to get to the kitchen to heat up leftovers from last night's dinner. LOLOL, I didn't mean to get everyone wondering what I was having for dinner last night!! LOL! It wasn't some kind of food I've never eaten before, or anything weird. It was just a grocery store item I had never bought before - from the fresh meats case - in their ready-to-cook section... It was some sort of pork roast and spinach concoction. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what all it was, though I read the ingredients!! LOL! It was some cut of pork roast rolled up with spinach - like a tall pinwheel. But there was other stuff layered in, which wasn't cheese - and that's what I have no idea what it was! Anyway... it had to cook for a whole darn hour! It wasn't all that big! I thought it would cook way faster than the instructions said, but it actually took longer! I used my meat thermometer to be sure it got to the correct temp, too. Oh law... what'll they put together to sell next? Ha ha. It's very unusual that I buy anything like that that is a prepared ready-to-cook collection of ingredients. It was priced right and caught my eye on a day I was kind of too lazy to make a meal from scratch, I guess. Anyway, it was okay - nothing to write home about... sliced pork roast and spinach, and whatever else was in that dish! ... plus the other sides I cooked - roasted some brussels sprouts with it, and now I can't remember what-the-heck-else I had to go with it. I was hungry, It filled me up.  ;D   Reheating and eating it all again tonight - it will make 3 meals in total - so I will eat it again after tonight. Unless I'm so hungry, I finish it off tonight! That's a possibility.  ;) ::)

I walked 35 minutes this morning. I added some distance to the same path I have been walking the last few days, and upped my pace a bit more, so it turned out I walked at about 3 mph today - a tiny bit faster than that, actually. It tired me. LOL. As the song goes, "hips don't lie."  ;D  Okay... but not for the same reason.  ;)

I have been enjoying watching the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. Love some of the personal stories of the athletes competing, and there have been some exciting races and some new records set, too! Go Team U.S.A. !!  :D

Thanks to all for all the updates and reports on so many of the wonderful nests and other wild animal sites we have been privileged to watch and follow.  :) :-* :-*

Clynn, all the pics are so fun of the kids - they are having a blast, and those are some funny poses, too!  :D

Phyl, good memory lane pic from your trip out to San Fran all those years ago!

Waving to All the Beakers! Good Night. Peace.

Pretty darn hot on the trail this very early in the AM a Kopje ?

Pip, Kopje and I are like platypuses in a really cool water lake.

Air temp and dew point horrid in Lake side Hammocks even.

With the weekend temps now forecast for the NE_ we're running home to the AC like the weenies we are.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, love the coyote howling at the moon! Always loved the 'Here Comes Summer' song! Hope all is well with yours, how is Aly doing?

Phyl, so that was you in that beach picture!  I thought so! Love it!

Puff, hugs...

BL, I think a lot of us are weenies!  ;D ;D Don't know how they did it back in the NO A/C days!

Some pics of the kids from Branson yesterday!

tsk, glad to hear the weather cooperated with you for your day at the zoo!

baz, I have bought a couple of those heat and eat meals that looked really good but were not so! I think we all get used to our own taste as far as spices and all. It takes something special to pass the grade!  Good for you on your walking!

Big Tree Seekers - Possible explanation:  it seems a tree fell, then became a nurse log to a hemlock (centre) and red cedars on either side.  over the years the nurse log disappeared.  leaving this bizarre configuration.
