Lani, love the Iris pic! I just can't get over how happy we are that she finally has a new man that treats her like a Queen! Wow, you are in for some hot temps. It got to 86 here on Saturday but yesterday was cooler.  A big, loud storm blew through last night. Looks like some more rain today, and only 80.

E4E, yes, the Munchkins are growing up fast! I will have them on Wednesdays starting 5/29!

tsk, I looked up Frank Sinatra Ice!  All I could find was that he had to have ice, lots of ice , in his martini! Which is supposedly weird! He didn't like the way shaking it diluted it!

Lisa, hope you got some good rest last night...  Been thinking of you a lot...  I use a lot of ice, have to have it for my sweet tea! But I know people who don't use ice at all!!!  I cannot imagine! Kay never had ice, she drank Diet Pepsi, she never refrigerated it, she opened it and let it set out until the fizz was gone. Then she drank it. Yuk, warm, flat diet Pepsi.

Hellgate - Jenny Powell - Mr dependable NG arrived with some Fish for his hungry bride, she departed with full confidence leaving Nest and the Eggs in her hero's care and protection. NG settled right in incubating while doing some light housework....he's a multitasker! ❤

PHYL  I just asked Tim about how he came to call ice - Frank Sinatra.  He thinks eons ago saw a Frank Sinatra movie - he loves old movies - and noticed how the cubes were square and clear in the movies where he would drink, which was most of them, and he liked that - not the drinking. LOL  That is the closest I can come.  Tim does not drink however, just for pop or his constant water or other no sugar flavored waters..    Boy, thank God for researchers!  What a miracle that would be to eliminate that inherited blindness.

Tig - rainy week coming up starting last night....don't think it can get much greener than it already is, LOL

Lisa - you do need to sleep...After Scott got his diagnosis and his first surgery a friend recommended melatonin gummies....it helped me prepare for the long "war"....and I continue to take it to this day. Really helped me get to sleep when couldn't turn off the "thinking"

Seeing an ENT tomorrow after my internist visit and recommendation not that successful. Loud tinnitus and partial hearing loss.....it's so friggin annoying to not be able to hear well..
So there's that annoyance. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some better answers. Hate feeling annoyed with our beautiful spring!

Lisa, you don't sound awful at all! Your mind is going through all of the things that need to be done and of course it gets overwhelming! It's good if you can change your thoughts to something else! Sometimes at night I have trouble getting to sleep! In mind I say 'breathe in, breath out' as I breathe. Sometimes it works! Beautiful flowers this morning! Mine all got a good rain last night, looks like more rain coming.

tsk, looks like more rain coming this week, and temps in the 70's. Does Tim have a certain place that he gets his square ice cubes? Ed drinks his Squirt from the plastic bottle, in a coozie. Never any ice! He has a little fridge in the Mole Hole that he keeps full. Monthly trips to the redemption center, he stacks the empties in boxes until I tell him to get rid of them!

So glad to read you're sleeping a bit better.  And, so sorry you're having some difficulty though. 

There was a time after Mom passed I woke in the middle of the night sitting straight up in bed with a gasp realizing she was gone.
And, that emptiness that often sinks in when one has a loss, hit me. I
The following morning I skipped breakfast and just sat  in Jim's LazyBoy  with tears rolling down my face. 
As Dr. Edwads-Lee said " my brain caught up with reality'  after 7 months of  long term care and days of dealing with doctors and therapist. Realizing she'd
never be any better than the day before.

Be assured it's not 'awful' to have to stop thinking of your mom in order to sleep. That's 'okay'.
.  We each have our own way of dealing with that which keep us awake.
Grief is a process---a journey---it takes time to heal. And, grief is different for everyone who experiences it.
