GOOD CATURDAY MORNING EVERYONE

LANI   Thanks for the washing machine story.  Let's hope this transmission holds up.   Tough looking Friday night crew  ;) ;)

LISA   Back home safe.  What a wonderful gesture by Nathan Page to not only contact your family  but now speak about her at the Con. Wonder if anyone can video that so you can have it for your memories of her.   Your Mom was well respected and a fun loving person.

CLYNN  YAY   Soon back to munchkin Wednesday  ;D   Do the kids have a Memorial Day parade they march in?

PHYL   Fog hit a lot of places around here yesterday 365

Getting out for an early morning today.  Got too hot for me yesterday.  Forecast mid 80's today.  Nope! count me out - or rather count me down on my a$$ watching my yard creatures, sipping ice water. . .

Tomorrow the veggie garden - then two day of that, but cooler is advertised.

karen/clynn  The battle of the critters.  Tried marigolds with their reputation - gave up on that lie.  Another with a good reputation is vinca - HAH.  I have 5 large bowls of them under my ash trees, planted Wednesday, found one completely destroyed Thursday.  I filled it back in yesterday with some of each of them from the other bowls and then smothered them with Repeals It.  We'll see soon what happened overnight.  I also will be replanting/improving on my 4 ft round cement large perennial bowl.  It looked sickly last year.  That should then be it for the day.

Had a royal mess to handle yesterday.  Got some precious help from Michael next door.  I came home late  Monday night after a travel show, when I closed the door from garage to house I heard a lot of tinkle tinkle noise.  Just kitty corner from entry door is the door to patio.  WHAT!!?? THE HECK.  There was a hole in the middle of the storm door glass, maybe 2 ft x 3 ft.  Over the last few days the hole kept getting bigger.  I wanted to put in the screen - but had to get rid of the hole, now about 3 ft x 5 ft.  Being less than 5'1" now there was no way I can even change to screen, which is why I hadn't done so as yet.  (Yelling)  Michael!  What he did is hang a tarp from the top of the door to the bottom and finished off the job of knocking out any remainder of the glass.  Now there were billions and billions of little tiny diamonds all over the patio.  Finally got the pieces of the safety glass collected and thrown out; replaced glass frame with screen panel (which should have been in to begin with).  I have an on call handy man - who will be handy somewhere else until next week - he'll check out the situation and no doubt I'll need an entire replacement.  :-\

I had a robin build a nest on top of a light fixture next to the patio door.  (Been here 50+ years and that's the first time there).  I knew it had been spotted because I found two little blue smashed robin eggs in the grass/on the patio.  I also knew were big black birds (crows, starling, black birds) after the nest.  I'm thinking, Michael agreed, that somewhere in the county is a black bird who has a terrific headache from the "bang up" job it did hitting into the glass.

See y'all later.  Enjoy!

Lisa

So nice to hear you are home and safe....Take care.

Below is just a start of putting some of my snowball viburnum in a vase...have many more to do, but it rained last night and I was out back drying some things so took off a few...many more to come.

Those little white petals do fall so Just pick them up when done is all.

So happy my iris (yellow not open yet) will bloom this year.

Last year, I thought I lost them all because none bloomed after our atrocious winter, winter before last.
Most returning this year....Yah!

Good Caturday Morning Beakers

Already 78 and heading to 89 today - turned on the A/C yesterday for the first time this year.  Next rain forecast is Mon. and Tue.

We sold out on most garden Veggies last weekend - got some more in on Thurs. - We have been selling a lot of trees this year - we started the season (late Mar) with 250 fruit trees and got another 250 in April - almost sold out on them now.  Flowers are also selling well - 6 packs are selling as fast as we can get them in.  Even the large hanging pots are selling well.

Time to get caught up on the videos again...

{{{Puff}}} sending lots of hugs and TLC  :-*

Phyl, beautiful foggy morning on today's nature vid.

Clynn, we've lived in this home for 11 years, and this is our 3rd washer. In Kansas, the 32 years there I had two Maytag washers. Rarely saw the repairman. The quality of the appliances is not what it use to be.... oh my The boys together  :-* Sam's head looks bigger than Harley's. aww the best pic.

{{{Lisa}}} It's wonderful to hear from you. So glad to know you and Bradley are home. Now you both can heal and be comforted with your loving families during these difficult days. It's been a whirlwind of events for you both.... What a wonderful gesture from actor Nathan Page. I enjoyed watching him on Miss Fisher and now I can see the kindness that he portrays in the show carries through to his personal life. I hope they video tape his comments and share them with you and your family. You take time to process and do what needs to be done, we'll always be here for you.  :-*

PUFF   Our front door had a full size storm window and a full size screen for summer.  I used to carry this heavy storm glass window downstairs to store in the basement and bring the screen up for the summer.  Reverse in winter.  I did that for 14 years!!  We have now completed 16 years here.  Two years ago we had Home Depot come in and replace the whole" storm door" so all we have to do now is slide the upper half down to expose screen on the top  Glass goes to the floor for Lulu - a priority!!  You may want to look into something like that.  I was thrilled at the convenience!!!  ;)   That was a mess Michael cleaned up.  Thank goodness he was home.  Awww  no baby robins to watch.  :(

KB  Love that cobalt blue vase - perfect for the "white" flowers.  Look a lot like hydrangea.

OLDGUY   " Many-paws"  ::) ::)    Wonder why the run on trees this year??  Wonder why Claire is moving?  I remember when she moved into this place.  Seems like she's giving up a lot?  Clark family collective  ;D

LANI   Are you feeling any better.?

CLYNN- so glad for you with the Munchkins coming on Wednesdays over the summer. Looking forward to some snaps.

I was being facetious  with the 'mixed nuts' remark. LOL

I use Repel All on all my potted plants--only draw back with that is it's not 'rain proof'---the container suggests resprinkling after each rain.
The other 'thing' I've ended up doing is putting a wire " barrier"  in the pot. Jim makes  them for me out of 1/4" chicken wire. He fashions it into a open ended
cylinder and inserts one end into the soil. Then crenellates the top  with a slight curve. If  we were much closer-he'd make some for you, that is if y ou wanted.
 Awwww ((Harley)) and Sam.

LOL barista kitty.

T40- miss your Caturday posts; hope all's well and you're just busy.

TSK- Awwww Mama  Tiger and her cub.  :-*

{{{PUFF}}}  poor Mom/Dad robin loosing their egglets  and heart breaker for you; argghhh all that glass-even with the tiny bits still a worry. Hope you
have a better day and evening

OG- firstly---'good luck' with cards tonight, no doubt something tasty for the pot luck too. Thanks for the Caturday links---OMW the world's smartest cat and 'Feral to Family' awww.   LOL 'many paws'. Will finish them later.  You've sold  a lotta trees this season.

{{{LANI}}} hope you're doing better today. LOL your Caturday greeting--so true;  Maytag had always been the 'gold standard' in appliances.  Seems like when Whirlpool bought them out in 2006 the product wasn't the same. IMHO

some bounce
TSK... Same here on the front door, except ours has a solid bottom.
I weeded for only a half hour today. Too hot and humid. Besides, I'm saving my energy to mow tomorrow.

Hugs all

Yours is the second mention today tsk.  Everyone who bears with me and my story of the billion diamonds seems to already know about the new double duty storm.  I just got the same recommendation from one of my neighbors - you know Michael - he has one in a condo he owns.  Only put change in his unit.  He actually owns and manages building, but only put in a door for his.  While outside today another handyman said he's put in 6 so far this spring.  He also even recommended HD.  I'll be online later this afternoon.  He saw the scratch marks on the old screen and said the permanent bottom glass panel is a must.  Already had other people give it a good thumb's up, too.

Phyl When I finished  planting said pots earlier this week Thursday, on Friday I was gifted with dug up begonias and eaten up vinca.  I was just at my limit and stopped when I shouldn't have.  So yesterday 1st thing I did was protect the vinca salad bowls.  I used Repel It twice then and once again today, even though I saw no more damage today.  And, for my begonia pots I too use chicken wire.  I have a total of about 10 begonia pots.  All that wire does wonders for my hands.  Hard to handle snagging if wearing gloves so I use small pliers to bend it in and around the hanging strips.

Did lot today, was actually outside from 8 to 1.  Again, lots of breaks - and it was really too much when the sun rose.  So now I'm done for the day.  Have a taste for Chinese, but don't know if I can make myself go out in public looking like I worked 5 hours in the yard.   ;D

Well we just turned the A/C on for the first time - 87 outside and 80 inside.  :P

PHYL   Funny cat memes.  Well the guy with the large cat family is a different breed of human  LOL

TIG   Ours is a sold bottom as well. Thanks  I didn't know quite how to describe it.  Top half is screen, once the sliding glass is brought down.

PUFF  Funny you have a taste for Chinese - I"m just now leaving to pick up our order  LOLOL  " House Chop Suey and egg rolls for Tim as well.
