HAPPY CATURDAY BEAKERS!  :D

I hope Karen and Piper are safe and dry. Very dicey severe weather thereabouts today!!

Lani and Mike's KU Jayhawks play at 4 pm (Eastern time) today, on ESPN.
TSK's Marquette plays at 5 pm (Eastern time), on the Fox Network.
My UNC Tarheels play at Duke at 6:30 pm (Eastern), on ESPN, after Lani's KU game is over.

Lani, I will be watching your Jayhawks play their last regular season game today, and then my Tarheels will play their last regular season game, after your Jayhawks' game is over. I hope we all still have fingernails when the games are over!!

TSK, I hope you and Tim are feeling good this weekend. That's exciting for your great niece's performance in her school's play - I bet it was fun!

Clynn, I love your morning Caturday-themed pictures!  :D

Phyl, your Caturday Vogue Kitty picture reminds me of this special woman of style, Iris Apfel, whose story I have followed for decades. She died last week (Fri., March 1) at the spry age of 102. She lived quite a life! I would've loved to have seen the special Met Exhibition of her  clothes and accessories in 2005, about which she was quoted as saying, “This is no collection. It’s a raid on my closet. I always thought to show at the Met you had to be dead.”   ;D ;D :-*  Her apartment was just as exciting to see! Many people may not recognize her name, but many of them would surely recognize her in pictures. She made quite a mark!

Both news stories below can be viewed once without a subscription, and by just closing out the pop-ups. You may not be able to return a 2nd time to either story linked below after clicking on the link though, so read them whenever you first click on them.  Both stories linked below are very good. The 1st story has great pictures with captions and tells much of her story, and the 2nd one is especially notable considering this is Women's History Month.  :)

Iris Apfel, dead at 102:
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/01/fashion/iris-apfel-dead.html - The lead photo of her at this story, was taken of her for her 100th birthday in 2022! Still rocking it!!

May she rest in stylish peace.  :-*

Waving to All the Beakers! Have a safe, dry, and great day!  :)

BL, thanks for Harvest Moon...  Wonder where you encountered a lion...

Clynn I was having a flashback to Africa when I saw the pic of the dachshund and bull dog that Lani posted.

They reminded me of a pair of characters a friend and I encountered in Zimbabwe on our way to Victoria Falls.

They escorted us down a dirt track for away on a beautiful sunny day when we saw a lion in the distance in the tall grass noshing on something .. moving on, what a good idea.   ;D   ;)

OLDGUY   Huge cat community.  Sure hope no one left hungry  :o     Cat Cardio  ::) ::) ;D ;D      Those 3 cats in front of the fireplace  ;D

PHYL    Good  cat stuff today.  Mama stroking baby.

EAGLES   Camping kitties  ;D ;D

LISA   Love the kitty on the quilt.  :D   I ddin't know anything about Mean Girls but was easy to follow.

BAZI   Appreciate the BB schedule.   Just got home from a movie.  Turned on KU   Almost end of first half.  :(   Maybe Iris Apfel would be a good topic for a motion picture.  Reading on I see they made a documentary about her in 2014.  Somehow I think PBS may be doing something on her  - just checked - they did something in 2016.- the documentary.

BL   Thanks for the lion explanation.  WHEW

T40   Enjoyed the piece on the 7 body parts of cats.  Pupils esp.  Cats talking  LOL       Wow  the elk that wanted human help.
Always a good bald eagle release.

Saw the movie Cabrini today  Gave it a 10!  Theater clapped!

T40 - Many thanks for the videos.

Baz - Hope you are staying safe and dry, too.

Have a good night, everyone!

Bounce

I went to lunch with friends for a few hours today. Rosie would not leave the door while I was gone, so Camper took her outside... where she kept watch and jumped at every sound and car. She was so exhausted when I got home that after she greeted me she jumped onto the couch and promptly fell asleep! She couldn't even make it over to my lap. Poor baby. Lol.
E4E... we have her at least until Tuesday night.

LANI   KU had a rough day!  :'(    MU  pulled it out!  ;D      Heels leading by 9 at halftime!

TIG   How sweet that Rosie bonds with you and actually misses you  :-* :-*  Nice to get out with friends.

Speaking of friends:  Maureen 70 yrs and the youngest in my girl group of 7, took a 93 yr old cousin to visit his 97 yr old aunt yesterday,  Dropped him back home and promptly turned and missed a small step - fell  and heard a crack!  Bottom line: surgery this Monday for a bone graft to the top of her tibia ( tibial plateau where it forms the joint with her femur - leg bone) She said " Got the 90's all back home safe and I go and plant my face"   She will be no weight-bearing for 4 weeks at least.  She is integral in childcare for her grandchildren as they live a few blocks apart.  Now grandpa will need to help out more  ;) ;)

CLynn  DST--great minds think alike; Peace Kitty  ;)   ; Utah highway-steep  ::)

Tsk  big note---you both won't be late for Mass   ;)   I've seen   'Cabrini '  advertised and know a neighbor who's seen this biographical of  St. Frances Cabrini  'Well worth the time and spiritually altering.' She told me. This one's on my list.

Lori many tks for the Jackie/Shadow BBcam update.  Eagle prayers for these egglets.   You won't be familiar with FNC. But, Bill Hemmer in the 9am hour of AM news often
does an update , after each egg's laid  on this nest.  Hemmer oftrn refers to     " FOBBV aa their source'

Oldguy Simaon's Cat had a good 'cardio workout'.  Q-kids, always

Lani sweet Calico this am; Good wishes for KU today

Eagles glad your PC issues are resolved; cute Caturday

{{{Karen}}} sorry about your PC issues---CLynn has been keeping us up to date---hope you/Piper  are well

Lisa last night we went grocer's and got a few bags of Starbuck's Half-Caf ( as full strength is too much Caff pour moi)  I got up early made a carafe and had
a hot mug with Maggie in my lap purring . Jimmy was still asleep  ;D

Bazi I've heard of fashion influencer Iris Apfel, RIP.  My fave fashion designer is the great Coco Channel . In the '80s ---there's a ( not sure now if it's still such) wealthy neighborhood in Joplin  called 'Snob Hill"went to a garage sale there and bought a Channel suite in size 4 for a song! I wore it for years generally for  Sunday service. I just couldn't' t starve myself any longer and donated the still slightly worn item to a charity sale for disabled children's wing of St Thomas Hospt

T40 kitty body parts explained - in 40yrs I've parented cats, the eyes never cease to amaze me  ; 'Are you filming me"  ;) ---touching elk story/rescue,; wonderful bald eagle rescue and rehab/release story

Tig little Rosie missed you, lots!

Tsk
prayers for   Maureen , her hubby  and their family.

LisaG  :)

Hi Baz!

Tsk - 'Cabrini' sounds awesome!!  It's a good movie when the theater audience claps!!      So sorry to hear of your friend Maureen taking such a terrible fall.  I wish her all the best with her surgery on Monday.  Prayers for her procedure.

Tig - Glad you had a nice lunch time with friends!  Wow, Rosie sure couldn't wait for you to return home!! What a sweetie she is!!

Phyl - How nice to get up early (as you usually do) and have a nice cup of coffee and to have Maggie on your lap.  It almost doesn't get better than that! ;) ;D

Beakers have a good evening  :)
