KAREN   Never heard of the Black Mt Range much less it being the highest in the Eastern USA  :o :o :o

LISA  Thanks for Karen's post.  Lulu lives for her treats ( Temptations)  LOLOL  She even likes those push up ones that Lucy never liked.
She literally tells time and starts pestering Tim at about 7:45 when he fills her treat mouse and she rolls it around on the floor till the treats come out.  Then at exactly 9PM she comes upstairs to my nest and lets me know she is ready for her night time treats which is either the push up treat or I put 5 treats in a puzzle and she has to sniff them out .  She has to wait tho until I go to bed LOLOL
Any word on how your niece is doing in her new apt?

Lisa, I give our cats " Purina Cat Chow Indoor Hairball & Healthy Weight Dry Cat Food". The Humane Society suggested it when we rescued the cats and they love it.They have Fancy Feast delights too... Milo is thin and Norman is a pudgy boy... thanks for posting Karen's FB pic.

Karen, gorgeous mountains, love the tint of blue and pink at sunset, it's like the AZ valley during sunset too ....

Tsk, Cool theater!  Samuel Pickwick is one of my favorite Charles Dicken's characters. I could watch The Pickwick Papers over and over.  ;D ... cute treat time story with Lulu

Phyl, cute Christmas morning pics... thanks for Amy's blog... The explore cam moments includes the Katmai Bears  :-* .. beautiful good night pic.

Tig, I love art deco too... if you watch Hercule Poirot you see a lot of art deco designs in the series.... you do a lot, so take care.

YAY Clynn, your back.... it's irritating when they can't find what's wrong....  well at least you were able to get a bargain on another modem... beautiful Christmas scenes.... we've seen the cougar's shadow returning home from the valley.. it's an awesome sight... never been to Oat Man, AZ.

We're going to the valley early in the morning.
I'll see you late tomorrow night. Have a lovely Weds and take care.

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, I think I am going to try the dry cat food you are using, I am currently feeding them Iams Healthy Adult and 1 small can each of Fancy Feast daily, along with treats. I think too many treats...  ::) ::)  I don't remember seeing the cougar on Superstition Mountain, but Mom does! You and Mike have a good day in the Valley!

Phyl, I think all of our cats are spoiled! It's hard not to spoil them, especially when they act like they are starving! I still call Sam and Sophie 'the kittens' even though they are a year old now!  Pretty good night pic!  Interesting 365!

tsk, it sounds like you have Lulu trained! I have never tried those treat puzzles! Is she back to sitting on Tim? I know what you mean about red cups, I also love the look of them. I have some deep red Wells Fargo mugs, they are just the right size, I love them!  (the cougar is real...)  ;D

Lisa, I don't know that I have seen those Sheba treats, I will look for them, I am sure Amazon must have them!

karen, beautiful Black Mountain range, I love mountains! Glad to hear that your heart is still working!

Good Morning Beakers !

Currently: 35F cloudy , High  55F partly sunnyl,  Low 29F

read The Pickwick Papers  in Sr.  High School English Lit  then   after we read  we acted out the story in class and we did
auditions for the parts we played. We did alot of in classroom plays of the classics...esp Shakespeare. Those were fun to perform .

Saw an interview on  A & E    w/the best 'Hercule Poirot' I've watched , David Suchet. So funny how he describes how he imitated Poirot's ...unique...walk. Yes lots and lots of 'Art Deco' as that was the style in that era at that time.

CLynn saw  the cougar shadow on the Superstition Mountains, AZ, many, many years ago before moving to The South, awesome; glad you
found what was the issue and could replace  a modem. Of course all our cats are spoiled... ;)

Lani  interesting 'Good Night' w/ Christmas tree reflection in those kitty's eyes; safe travels today

CLYNN   It takes Lulu about 3 days! to eat a small can of Fancy Feast.  Two servings a day - Early AM and usually noon.  WOW a year has gone by fast for your "kittens"  :)  the way I look at it - I try to go for enrichment for her treats - She has to earn them.  LOL  Time to find some new ones on line.  She's pretty good at the TP/paper towel/ cardboards with holes. ;) ;)

PHYL  Those are some old decorations this AM   That was a great banding report.  Lots involved!

Saw on FB that the new feeding pole is up at Hellgate

How about something like this? I got this from sis for Ollie man. He loves it. About 10 bucks plus small treats that come out by rolling the ball and make it through holes inside the toy..and then outside the toy.

Probably make something similar for cats? or even this one for cats, it's not that big about the size of a small/medium size ball.

I can't remember if cats like to roll things or not..but if a treat is the incentive, perhaps?

https://internationalcheetahday.com/

The cheetah is the world’s fastest land animal. They can run 70 mph (or 110 kph), which is as fast as cars drive on the highway. The cheetah can reach its top speed in just 3 seconds!

The cheetah’s fur is covered in solid black spots, and so is their skin! The black fur actually grows out of the black spots on their skin .

The cheetah has a long, muscular tail that has a flat shape. The tail almost functions like a rudder on a boat because they use it to help control their steering and keep their balance when running very fast.  There are fewer than 7,500 cheetahs left in the wild, making the cheetah Africa’s most endangered big cat.

Not just a funny haircut
Cheetah cubs have long tall hair that runs from their neck all the way down to the base of their tail, which is called the mantle. The mantle makes a cheetah cub look like a honey badger and makes them blend into tall grass, which helps keep them safe from threats like lions and hyenas.

KB   Pretty cool treat dispenser   ;)
cats will bat, swipe, toss and chase a toy or small rodent and non poisonous insect.  Hence the reference to 'playing' with their 'prey'.  And, gobble up their kibble and canned 'wet' food as of it's the last they'll ever get. Even more quickly if they are truly hungry. Unlike dogs...cats swallow their food whole that's why canned food is in small  easy to swallow chunks. Their jaws aren't built for chewing.  However they can crunch if taught how to do this. I have taught all my cats to crunch kibble (If I serve that) and treats.

Tsk     Every kitty is different and so is it's  metabolism, to be sure.  ;)
Maggie( 22 human yrs)  eats 1.5 cans of Hills SD Kidney care daily. Their...  cans are about the size of Fancy Feast. I don't control portions and allow  eating  freely throughout the day and night.

Good Afternoon Beakers

I let the day get away from me, and just got around to getting into the Beak.  Boy, the wind is wicked sounding on DE, and it looks like we are going to be getting some of that here late tonight and tomorrow.

From karen - https://fb.watch/wgm1-kbUq-/?

tsk- Love your cute morning greeting!  I have not bought the Temptation treats, but I have bought their lil containers of wet food to see if Misty would eat it.  If course, all she did was lick the gravy.  The niece seems to be making out OK in her new apartment, she tells me.  She said, she did meet some of her neighbors, so I hope she likes it there.  She better!   ;D

Phyl - Thanks for the 365.  Pretty good night pic last evening. Love those Christmas figurines.  Thanks for the banding report.  I love to see the work RRP does.

Lani - I did buy a bag this morning of the Rachel Ray Indoor Complete. Bandit ran to the kitchen, as he loves a fresh bag of food opened.  I said, this is not for you!  I did let him eat some, then Misty tried it and she seemed ok with it, but we will see.  She came back later and sniffed it and was like....do I want this?  ;D

clynn - I get the Sheba treats off of Amazon, you get a better deal then on Chewy at times. Love the acorn wreath!

kb - That is a cool enrichment toy!

tig, Puff, karen and all - Waving to ya!!

SHE DID IT AGAIN!

Wisdom, the world’s oldest known wild bird, is back with a new partner and just laid yet another egg.

At an approximate age of 74, the queen of seabirds returned to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge last week and began interacting with a male

Just wow!..the Midway Atoll where Wisdom laid her egg with a new male:
