Good Afternoon Beakers

I am late.  I had three MRI's back to back this morning, and it was a long time to be in the tunnel.

I see I have lots to catch up on.

karen - That is great that Piper loves fruit.  Bandit likes the smell of strawberries, but he nor Misty has never ate fruit. So glad you are having company for Christmas!
from karen - https://wwals.net/2024/11/07/twelve-inches-of-rain-on-valdosta-causes-flooding-and-bridge-and-school-closures/

Lori - The cake for Phyl & Jim looked delicious!  Hope you are Destini are doing good.  :)

Phyl - Oh my goodness...snow already??  Jeff's pressure is down in his eyes, due to the combination drops they gave him six weeks ago, so doctor said, lets go back to six month appointments.  Thanks for the 365's.

Lani - Thank you for wishes for Jeff, and thanks for the kind words.  Love the TRR pics.  Oh wow, Shannon is leaving so soon.

kb - Good to hear that Chris is doing ok, and is not in any more pain.

tsk - Glad to hear that Tim had a good day, and was able to sit with you and do some thing.  Everyone deserves a cheat day.  Hope he enjoyed his cake.  :)

BrokenLug - Thank you!!

tig - Very cool on your new plates, and incorporating the word Camper!

baz - Still waiting on a move-in date for nice, was hoping she would get it today, or at least by tomorrow!  I want to be out of here Saturday or Sunday.  Sunday is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Run/Walk, so traffic will be a mess with one span closed for the event.  Hope lil Punkin and family get to go home by Saturday.

Puff - I watched that action this morning at DNN before I left. Good find by the cam op.

clynn - Welcome home.  Sounds like a great time for your Mom's 90th!  What are pork burgers?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, nrstooge!

Good afternoon bakers the rain finally came last night and we ended up with 6.3 inches on the ground .pipe or went out during part of a heavy storm to potty and came in to get dried off with a towel .this morning ,although it wasn’t raining, there’s still a lot of puddles all over the yard and she came back in from her morning walkabout with her pedicure all wet She said it was all right though and she manage .  CLynn it’s good to see you back home safely ..
I am sure your mother had a lovely time with her girls celebrating 90 years of glorious life. Dinner sounds like it was wonderful.
.22 inches of rain expected today. Evidently schools are closed in Valdosta and many roads flooded out including homes and some folks were evacuated by boat. Much of this is not too far from where I live but I really never felt I was in any danger here probably not too smart an idea, but went to bed and went sound asleep  to the sound of thunder and lightning outside . One of the streets I travel a lot evidently looks like a tornado went through this road was also damaged or at least had a lot of tree damage during a lien. Our temperatures are still running 10° above normal.

LANi. Good luck to Shannon.  Nice to know ALY will be home for a holiday.
Happy birthday NR. Many more!
Baz. Prayers for  Lgn!

Karen, I'm glad your home/property, and YOU and PIPER are A-OK today! I have been watching the bad flooding news today on the Weather Channel about all that in and around Valdosta, and I-75, and nearby other areas - some highways and roads had closures due to flooding - saw about some flooding rescues, and water getting into some homes, too. Hope there were no injuries related to the possible tornado damage you mentioned! Lots of dicey, sevee weather in many parts of the country recently. You and Piper stay safe!  :) :-*

Update: Thanks, Lisa, for posting Karen's link to the Valdosta flooding news and photos! Valdosta was the "bull's eye" for that!

Hey Beakers:

Got a brand new battery in Nellie. She immediately seems to work better. Mechanic drove around town to test her and said: Man she drives nice and is like new but for the newer computer shit.
We went over how to use my trickle charger in the garage. Once a week morning till noon for example. Will do.
He said the old battery "looked like new" however it was 4 years old.

Whew...anyway, still picking up the pieces around the house, Ollie, etc. after 3 weeks of nonsense.

Today feels like the most "normal" day in a long time. Heading out to grill chicken, broccoli and scalloped potatoes are ready.

Have a great day all!

HAPPY DAY, BEAKERS!  :D

My LGN was still in the ICU as of this morning because a bed in a regular room never became available for her yesterday! I hope she can get moved to a regular room sometime today! Good news is that her labs are all now in the normal range! Yay!! Fingers crossed they stay that way! If so, she's looking to be discharged from the hospital in Boston on Saturday! Meanwhile, the Child Life staff there has been coming by with Legos, games, art supplies, and such for her. So nice they do that. And she has been able to walk the halls some, too. She got to go visit the hospital's Gift Shop yesterday!  :D  Her parents moved yesterday from the nearby hotel to a Family Housing place for patients' families that's about a 15-minute walk to the hospital and is provided at only $30 a night - a great help! Mom and Dad take turns being with my LGN, while the other gets work done, or goes to the hotel room to shower, sleep, etc. Mom has been spending the night in the room each night with LGN, per LGN's request. LGN is acting perfectly fine and loving getting all the ipad game time and extra one-on-one attention from M&D.
M&D are very happy the labs are back in the normal range, but they are worn down!  :-* :-*  The docs still have no clue what caused things to go wacky to begin with. Though Mom and the main doc suspect a med that had been started a couple months ago, which hasn't produced the hopeful results (unfortunately - that's a different struggle), could be the culprit, and she is now starting to be weaned off that (which will take a couple months). But the endocrinologist says, "No way" that is the cause, and if it turned out to be the case, it would be the first time it had ever caused such a side effect as that wacky imbalance that showed up by surprise in the labs. So... the medical team is just moving ahead with the plan they've put in place now, and hoping the situation doesn't come back. So, it's still a head-scratcher.

Thanks to All the Beakers for your good wishes and prayers for my LGN and Family!  :-* :-*

Lisa, wow - 3 MRIs back-to-back! I've had 2 back to back, just in Septeber, and that took a long time - you had 3!! I hope whatever it's for, they find helpful info and a good solution for you! Yay for Jeff's eye meds bringing good results! I hope that continues, and things stay promising for that!  :)  By the way... KEEP UP WITH THE PATH AND FORECAST FOR HURR RAFAEL! Models are NOT in agreement, and it seems the American (GFS) model wants to take it north to the LA Gulf coast this weekend! But the Euro model, keeps it moving west toward Mexico. Either way, it will not still be a hurricane or tropical storm, but it could make for a buttload of rain or other associated weather... you know, it's all about the IMPACTS. So... just saying... keep your eye on that, and hopefully a more certain path will come into agreement soon! The Weather Channel gave a very good analysis about all this. The National Hurricane Center is using primarily the European model forecast for its current forecast, but have clearly stated that there is wide uncertainty.

Clynn, sounds like a wonderful birthday trip to your Mom's!

TSK, I hope Tim is better and better today, and each day!

Lori, yum on that white chocolate raspberry cake you made for NR's birthday today! Must be something in the water today... LOL... because for breakfast today, I had a slice of NY cheesecake and added a bunch of fresh raspberries and pieces of Hershey's chocolate!! Sooo good! Breakfast!  ;D 8)

Puff, good catch on the coyote's successful hunt in the field near the North nest via cam!

KB, glad Nellie has a new battery and is running great! Yummy meal plan for the grill!

Waving to All the Beakers!  :D

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, I think Ed has already finished one half gallon of the chocolate milk! I usually get 8 half gallons (I have a little cooler that they fit in perfetly). This time I had room in the other cooler so I got 3 for Erin too. Love the sleeping ginger kitty... Thanks for the baby sloth pics!

tsk, Mom is slowing down but still doing good! We did a little road trip on Monday, she loves road trips! It was so funny, we didn't want to take 2 cars, so Becky and Kelsey rode in the back of the SUV. It was.so funny, Kelsey had a great time with Aunt Becky! You won't believe it but we ALL forgot to get a picture of all of us with Mom! I agree, Tim needs a treat once in a while! I had treats at Mom's, will not check the scale for a few days...  ;D

Phyl, love the pics in your good morning yesterday, very clever! Thanks for the Publix video, it is wonderful!  They do this every year, right? That has to create a lot of good will, it is so sincere and thoughtful! Loved the little snake pop out in the 365!

Lori, love that cake for nr! YUMMY!

Lisa, beautiful flowers, and wow on the 3 MRIs! Hope they found what they were looking for! I get the pork burgers at Country Home Processing in Albion. They are just hamburgers made with pork instead of beef, and they are seasoned so they don't taste like plain ol' sausage. They used to be a big feature on Pork Day USA, along with pork chops. But Pork Day USA bit the dust a few year ago...

baz, glad to hear Lil' Punkin is good and will be home soon! What a scare for the family!

nr, sorry I missed your birthday!

Good Morning Beakers

baz - You're welcome.  I try to post for karen's links when I can.  :)  Glad to hear the Punkin's labs are back in normal range.  Hope she and family get to go home soon.

kb - Yay, a brand new battery for Nellie.  Glad to hear she is good to go.  How is Chris feeling?  Your dinner sounded delish!

Phyl - Thanks for the pork burger recipe.

tsk - Yes, 2.5 hours in the tunnel was alot.  The first MRI was the hand, and the hardest to do for me, as I had to lay on my tummy with arm stretched forward and go in head first.  I think I told you that I slipped in my kitchen back in August and my two fingers on dominant hand have been hurting.  I did x-rays, and a nerve conduction test, and those showed no broken bones or carpal tunnel returning.  But, MRI did show that I have partial tear of the ulnar aspect of the A1 pulley of the fifth metacarpal head with overlying soft tissue edema. Those two fingers keep locking up when I bent them, but not all the time. The other two MRI's were of C-spine and lower back, herniated and bulging discs were found.

karen - Wow, that is alot of rain!

Lani - Thank you  :-*  Sweet sleeping kitty.

clynn - I would like to visit Country Home Processing!  Looks like my kinda place.  GReat pic of your Mom, Aunt Becky and Kelsey.  Where did you all stop to eat on that day?  I see the lil order thing on the side of the car.

Puff, tig and all - Morning  :)
