Beakers, some incredible good news found me today. I have been in a bit of a health and medical whirlwind since the beginning of July, with many tests and different sorts of imaging at several locations and such... chasing after a hard-to-pinpoint "mass," and a sideline surprise discovery of another sort that came to light while imaging to find out more about the mass. That sideline discovery was not of any special worry, but would require surgery to remove it as a precaution, and to biopsy, though that was expected to be of no special concern, should be benign. The real concern was "the mass" that was having a hard time getting better defined. Okay, this sounds strange, I know, but I'm sparing you the details. And all for the best anyway, because, guess what!?! - after all that, the good news that found me today is this... The worrisome "mass" doesn't exist after all!! It's a long story!! AND, neither does the non-worrisome sideline thing!! !! !! My surgery for that was scheduled for about 10 days from now, and the hospital had called me early today to go through the pre-surgery instructions and all, like they do. Well I picked up the report mid-day today of the results of the most recent imaging I got home from at 8:00 PM last night, and immediately fired up my computer to read it - that report was on a disk with the images. When I read it, I was overjoyed!!! But I waited on my specialist's call, who had ordered the imaging, so I could get her professional official take on the report. She called me late today, and we talked for a looong time. Bottom line... There is no mass! And, there is no "sideline problem!" And, there is no surgery needed... it is canceled! It is all normal!! !! Nothing is wrong!! And, there is no follow-up procedure or appointment or check-up of any sort whatsoever required! Over! Done! The End! !! !! !!  :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Good night, Beakers. Peace. SED.

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, interesting 365, looks like the buck ran the interloper off while his harem quietly watched...Love the folk art morning pictures!  53 here, high 78 with abundant sunshine! How are your knees doing? And how is Jim?  And give Maggie some pets for me!

baz, that's crazy!!! Yay for no surgery!!! Very perplexing, do they have any explanation of why there was a mass and then there was nothing? Yes, life is weird and complex yet very simple!  Glad to hear that you are ot in harm's way with the storms coming!

Lani, Katmai is so beautiful I bet one could take a thousand pictures and still want more in Alaska. Our country is beautiful everywhere! Oh, and thanks for the Irish Homestead link!

karen, sounds like you are ready for whatever! So if your power goes out does the Generac automatically come on?

tsk, I was thinking that insulin users probably have the pen by now. So much easier, and Tim is right, you can't even feel the teeny tiny needle. Sorry you had to miss your meeting, but I'm sure that didn't stop you from praying! You definitely need to know what Tim is supposed to do so you can remind him! I think a lot of people sleep in recliners! Sleep is sleep...

oldguy, enjoyed the Penny video, wow, Penny's Mom is very creative! Thanks for the info on the mums!

tig, rotten pear parts! Well, it could be worse!  Hope you were able to hose camper's shoes off before it dried!

When you dive past 200 meters (656 feet), you enter the deep seabed—an expansive world leading down to abyssal plains, at depths of 3,000 to 6,000 meters (up to 19,685 feet). But it doesn't stop there; the Mariana Trench drops to a staggering 11,000 meters (36,089 feet). These areas, isolated in darkness and high pressure, hold unique life and key insights into Earth's geological and biological evolution.

The Beautiful Changes

By Richard Wilbur
One wading a Fall meadow finds on all sides
The Queen Anne’s Lace lying like lilies
On water; it glides
So from the walker, it turns
Dry grass to a lake, as the slightest shade of you
Valleys my mind in fabulous blue Lucernes.

The beautiful changes as a forest is changed
By a chameleon’s tuning his skin to it;
As a mantis, arranged
On a green leaf, grows
Into it, makes the leaf leafier, and proves
Any greenness is deeper than anyone knows.

Your hands hold roses always in a way that says
They are not only yours; the beautiful changes
In such kind ways,
Wishing ever to sunder
Things and things’ selves for a second finding, to lose
For a moment all that it touches back to wonder.

Currently: 66F mostly cloudy , High  77F mostly cloudy  with  Low 63F

Hope everyone had a pleasant evening and a good night's rest.
The rainy weather makes my knees hurt. But, Euflexxa keeps them limber. :)
Today is a PT day---4pm

Thank you (((Lisa , Bazi and Karen))) for heads up on TS Helene. There was no info  on our end.

Karen I hope  you and Piper will be well.

{{{Tsk & Tim}}} thks for the update. Glad to read the injector pen situation is solved. Should Tim find his incision is 'itchy'. He  might gently
use his  palm to gently run the area. When my spleen was removed for the ITP and incision became 'itchy' one of the  RNs told me that.

Bazi Congrats!  Just so happy for you.  That is the most wonderful news.    :-* :-* :-* :-*

Lani those landscapes from  Katmai last night. I think the very bottom one would make a bang up puzzle.
So glad your  West fire situation has improved. Poor wildlife.

CLynn In the 'pink' today.   Tks for Lesley's (theBirdNerd) photo of Bluejay. So she's back? Thought she quite tkaing photos. Anyway.
Your snap of the deep seabed would make a good puzzle too.

OG  tks for info on mums. Enjoyed the 'Penny' video

Tig 'rotten pear parts' there could be worse 'things' in one's yard.   LOL

Best get busy...

LOL. Nope. Everything was dry when discovered. I have one old paring knife that works great for cleaning shoes.

Just back from the pool. One of the guy's wife is now in hospice. Sad.
Sprinkling, buy grass seed, apply, etc. And a little Brad and George in between.   :o

Good morning Beakers!

{{{Baz}}} Yep "Life is Weird and Complex, yet very simple at the same time." it's all about perception! So True!!  ... I'm very happy for you. I can read the joy and relieve in your post!  :-* ... take care  :)

Clynn, beautiful morning pics... I enjoy watching the Irish Homestead family. Each video you see the family settle into the area and watch the restoration of a 200 year old barn into a home. But what I love is watching the pets they gather. LOL! Started with a Border Collie who started shepherding a neighbor's donkey Toby and keeping track of family members, then they adopt Toby... chicken/rooster join family.. Collie is shepherding donkey, chickens everywhere...then up pops a black cat, then ginger cat and more cats (they started fostering cats)... collie is shepherding the whole herd now through the barn they are restoring and around the property and trying to keep track of the adults all at the same time! Then another dog joins the family, now there's three dogs and Toby has a girlfriend. LOL! All in a year's time! Poor Collie I wonder when he has time to eat and sleep.  ;D.  ... awesome pic of the Mariana Trench. That would be a wonder to dive and explore.

Phyl, your morning pics would make great puzzles... glad your knee is staying limber, good luck with pt.... gorgeous stag and harem... thanks for migration info.

The worst of the wind and flooding rains will be to the right of, and north of, the center of Helene. It does NOT matter if Karen's town is in the cone anymore or not!! Her town is still expecting the worst of the impacts for that area!! !! !! including potential hurricane force wind gusts, and big flooding rains!!! And the cone can move left, or right, at any time! Karen's town is still under a Hurricane Warning! It is NOT a hurricane watch - it is a Hurricane Warning.  That means hurricane conditions ARE expected in that area within a 36-hour period or sooner!!  (((Karen))) Stay safe. Hugs!!

This is a very, very large system - it will bring hurricane and tropical force winds and life-threatening rains well outside the cone!!! The cone is ONLY where the center of the storm is expected to track. People need to understand this. People who haven't learned it and were outside the cone and were affected awfully by life-threatening wind and flood and storm surge have lost their lives, property, and more in the past. Lessons hard-learned!!

Prayers for all in the path of the storm! Not just in the cone!!!

Off to pick up more medical reports. Good ones! ;) ;D

Sorry... people need to understand better about what the cone means and doesn't mean. My trigger got tripped.  8)  Not sorry. And not personal.  :-*

Well, I see Clynn is in the pink this morning!   Think  Clynn’s Mom. Mickey and maybe  Clynn will get a little sprinkle from Helene.  Phyl, you too!   At this stage I can tell you that if I could see better and was in better shape , Piper and
I would have been in the car and been far, far away from here!
Just went out to get the hummingbird feeder in and I was dive bombed by one, buzzing my head!  Guess it will stay a little longer!   I feel sorry for migrating birds with the storms and all  the other animals!  They are somewhere as it is very quiet outside.
Mickey was awaKen  very early this am by a call r
om Dr. Hall who was getting ready for a hike  some place in Yellowstone.  She said she did not want to waKe me up but asked Mickey to tell me her husband waS on his way home.  Gave Mickey his phone number and said he was going home to take care pf the animals and check on me!  So nice.   He is an Ent. MD.
Loblolly Pines, while conifers are  better described as very tall telephone poles   With many branches at tgw top that are covered in long needles and medium sized cones!   They are very messy trees, constantly dropping  something, shallow rooted and I have at least 11 on my property.   Southern bald eagles are known to nest in them as well as squirrels and other birds!   They provide good, high shade and  the wind thru the pines is soothing.   May have to say goodby to them!

Baz, good news for you!   Thanks for the weather report!  West side if tge cone better than .east side.   Have not looked lately but think I am East!

Have stayed home thru a cat 3 in Mobile.  This sounds worse some how!
Hugs for Tim ans Tsk!   (((Lisa)))

Hi Everyone,  Missing my regular posts  LOL

TIG  Been there done that with junk in treaded shoes  :P :P ::) ::)  Can just imagine.

LANI  Awesome photos from Katmai  8)

BAZI  WE have some Helene alarm bells going off for Illinois as well  We shall see..  In order to get rid of the gall bladder infection prior to surgery they had to insert a catheter drain into the gall bladder and it drains into a bag hanging from his belly which is emptied by me periodically and measured .  Further details are unnecessary  LOLOL  I think I'm heading for a nursing degree... ;D ;D
AMEN AND GREAT NEWS FOR YOU.  One of those weight of the world off your shoulders moments

CLYNN  Beautiful pink Wednesday  :)   Our generator kicks in seconds after the power goes out..  Likely similar for KAREN

PHYL   Sweet AM pics  :)  Thanks for the tip on the palm rub.  No such reaction as yet.

LANI   Can see how you would look forwad to watching the Homestead family - What a group  LOL

Days see some progress even if minimal.   Still waiting for Tim to be able to do his injection without my supervision.  He should be golden in another day or two  ;) ;)   Doing some walking without his walker  YAY   I finally got outside and worked 45 only cutting down perennials and cleaning the 3 birdbaths.  One more section of the garden to go that has most of the milkweed and perennials
 Baby steps

(((TSK and Tim))), yep, that's what I was talking about when mentioning Helene is heading for several mid-west states. Maybe you will get some helpful drenching rains for the parched ground there! And hopefully no damaging effects. I forgot about the drain! I guess when I heard "incision," I was thinking something bigger than what I envision was done for the catheter. But I'm not on my way to a nursing degree like you are, LOL, so what do I know!  ;)  I hope Tim has less pain soon! You worked a long time in the yard!

(((Karen))) (((Piper))), I hope you have your "safe room" set up and ready, and you and Piper get to it right away when the loud audible NOAA weather alerts tell you to take shelter. Hope you won't need to!! That's so nice that Dr. Hall's husband will check on you. Do not be tempted to go outside during the high winds! For any reason. Piper will have to make do indoors during those high winds - even if it means closing her up in the bathroom or some place similar for a while, followed by a clean-up on a hard floor, like a bathroom floor, if necessary. Safety trumps discomfort or not being happy every time. The good news is that Helene is going to go through very quickly, so at least it isn't going to stall or linger! I will be praying for you and Piper, and all in the path of the storm.  :-*

Clynn, your post was Pretty in Pink this morning!  :) Yes, my doctor and I believe we know what the phantom mass, and also the phantom other "sideline" things were, and we are in agreement about that. It always makes me feel better when my thoughts line up with my doctor's. LOL. But since they no longer appear, since they don't exist, we don't have proof. Just our good senses and brains.  ;D

The 5:00 PM Eastern time update for Hurricane Helene from the National Hurricane Center was just released. It's going from bad to worse, unfortunately. Hurricane Helene is now forecast to have even higher winds at landfall. It is now forecast to be a Category 4 Major Hurricane at, or just before, landfall with sustained winds of 130 MPH, with higher gusts. Storm surge in much of FL's Big Bend area is also now forecast to be up to 12-18, possibly 20, feet above dry ground at high tide, with crashing waves on top of that. Storm surge forecasts are for the most likely worst case. It would be expected to be somewhat less, but still awful and deadly, if the storm made landfall at low tide vs. high tide. Many other areas of the coastline have life-threatening storm surge forecasts, as well.
