Lani, I am so glad to hear that the old Banyon Tree in Lahaina will survive!  I am sure it will be a sign of hope for those who lost everything...

I finally was able to see one of the retina specialists at Wolfe Clinic. As I thought, there is nothing that can be done for my eye. The doctor said it was a stroke, a blood clot that went to my retinal artery. My right eye will eventually adjust to doing all the seeing. Right now I can see some with my left eye but it's not clear at all. and it's hard to focus because it's interfering with my right eye. He said that will go away in time and I will be able to see fine with one eye. The main thing now is to try to prevent anything from happening to my right eye. I had the echo cardiogram this afternoon. Hopefully they can determine what caused the stroke and we can keep it from happening again. It is what it is, I will get used to it eventually! You just never know when anything can happen!

It is snowing here again. I won't make any more appointments, so it will stop snowing.  ;D ;D

karen, so happy to hear that you found a good housekeeper so quickly, and you know she is good or Dr Hall wouldn't keep her!  You are doing very well at home!

tsk, oh no, poor Tim!  Did he catch that cold in DC?

BL, love the rug story, your Dad was wise.  ;D

Lisa, we all told Mom we wouldn't come visit her if she had no internet! LOLOL! Of course, we were kidding. Dad was the one who was on the computer, so they did have the internet already. It's the rural kind, not great but at least its something...  :D :D

Puff, oh my, your stories!  I cannot imagine being buried in snow...so scary!

The ultimate road trip on a budget => https://tripmemos.com/budget-friendly-national-parks/   Stop by if you go, looks like it goes right through Des Moines!

some bounce

((( Clynn ))) so sorry. You have a great attitude...

Lani - Thanx for the good news on the Banyon

TSK...(( Tim )) ouch

My friend luckily tested herself today and let us know she is positive for Covid. We will postpone the lunch we had scheduled for tomorrow. It is too bad she went to a wake/funeral yesterday when she didn't feel well IMHO. Fingers crossed for the other attendees.

LANI   Great news on the Banyan tree in Lahaina. ;D

CLYNN    Did they recommend temporarily wearing an eye patch over your left eye until the right eye takes over?  Maybe echo will tell if you need any meds to prevent another???     No idea where Tim got the cold/strep.   Interesting tour of some of the national parks.   I would do 4 or 5 trips and hit all of them ;) ;)  LOL

karen, good  :)

BL, I'm surprised we didn't get any of the moisture from Oregon. Thanks for update.

The tree's going to be OK' | Maui arborist provides update on Lahaina's famous Banyan tree

Between 15% to 20% of Lahaina's famous Banyan tree has died and will need to be removed, but the tree as a whole is going to survive. Maui arborist Duane Sparkman spoke with Island News to provide an update on the efforts to bring back the old town's symbolic tree.

I'll chalk it up to moving too fast and just move on .   ;)

Okay. I'm ready for these frigid temps to warm up ! Hopefully, the weather gods will hear me. LOL

Oh my {{{CLynn}}} I'm sadden over  your news. You have a fantastic attitude. I was thinking the same as Tsk about the e ye patch.  Praying that the echo will reveal the cause of the stroke and therefore some preventive meds.    Begs another question---how about driving your car? What did your doc say about that I wonder.
Great tour of  our National Parks--lots and lots to learn. ;)    Awesome photos of Iowa roads.  :o

Lani great news on Lahnina's old banyan tree, tks for the news video on it;  sweet Royal hatchling yesterday.

{{{Puff}}} how dreadful to have brothers teat you like that.

TSK Y uck! Strep/a cold. I hope Tim gets better soon. The
Norcrest   collection has been sold and if this snow ever melts it'll get shipped---I may have to give a partial refund of purchase price
if this takes much longer. I acquired it when Mom/Dad moved to Mo and someone else' s boxes were mixed  with theirs---it wasn't labeled so my Ps didn't return it. They think the movers had 'set it aside' for themselves and so it goes.  ;D   Cute sheep dog this AM

KB  ah poor street kitty, it's tilting it's head, might have a 'cold' in it or much worse. :-* :-*

BL great news for Lisa next week ! I missed the 'baby snow toss ' video---likely I wouldn't have been much amused
either. Sometimes it's difficult to tell what is really going on---

Eagles cute boy/girl snow people

Lisa  it's still snowy with ice  and the streets and roads aren't  clear on iota!  Maggie's out of her special  Hill's Science Diet kidney formula. Jim will have to ddrive to  Smyrna and get a box from PetCo---as i't s not sold in our neighborhood; vet doesn't carry it anymore either.

karen - I know, I would have loved to go to Mardi Gras, maybe next year!  Yay, on getting a housekeeper.

Lani - Thanks for the pics from Seal Island.

tsk - Oh no, just read that Tim is sick.  I hope the meds are kicking in and helping some.  Thanks for the kind words for FIL.

BL - Thanks for the weather update.

clynn - Oh, I am so sorry to hear that a stroke caused the eye condition.  Hoping and praying for good results from the echo cardiogram, and they can find out what caused the stroke. Saved that link for the National Parks to Pinterest.

tig - So sorry to hear about your friend having Covid.

Phyl - Hope Jim can get to the store safely and get Maggie her food.

Have a good night, everyone!

A round-up before dinner:

'Lisa and sending prayers for {{{your FIL }}} tomorrow;  thank you Jim appreciates the 'good wishes' for tomorrow

Tig so sorry for {{your friend}} and the CoVid, apologize for missing this while reading.

Karen Jim and I were just talking about Mardi Gras and visiting Susan and Sam for it---too bad we're drained $$$ for it. Maybe next year.
Sounds like some good news on the housekeeper and some good references too. Hope this works out for y'all

Phyl, i think, if you have your vet send a script to Chewy, you can get them to deliver the  kd food to your door!  May have a discount for auto ship!  Check it out!

Lisa, good thoughts for your fils procedure tomorrow!

Bl, I have never been to MuscleShoals but it sounds like I have not missed anything!   Have driven north to south in the dtate and like the topography and trees along the way!

Tsk, sorry about Tim’s  illnesses and hope the meds have kicked in.  Maybe fix him a hot tea with lemon and honey!(ugh) .  Saidto soothe the  thriat!  Magic potion number?

Clynn has a magnificent attitude and a strong will to stay positive, do what she can and, Carry On!  I think, when you do that there is no room for complaining!  Not easy!

Tig - Nice that your brother took some Christmas decorations. :)
Lani - Thank you, but I won't know about the results of the bone density scan until I see my Dr.  I have my check up with him the first part of March.
Clynn - Hope all went well at your eye appt today.  I hope the snow wasn't too much for you to drive to your appt.  Clynn, I think that was an actual baby tossed into the snow. :o
Just read what you said about your eye - so sorry your eye isn't what it was, but hopefully you will be able to do all your normal everyday stuff!
Phyl - Thank you for all links - I really do appreciate it!  Hope Jim is feeling better - at least a little bit. :)
Bummer that it is getting harder to get Maggie's food bought!
BL - You are so good with your weather updates - great that you are giving LisaG a little peak at what the weather will be. :)
Tsk - You are so right about the book is always better! Although I know you are responding to Tig,  I found that out years ago when I read the book of 'The Shining', THEN I went to the theatre and watched the movie. :-\  Book is better.
LisaG - Best wishes for Jeff's dad having a surgery tomorrow.  Hopefully roads will be drive able.
Puff - Wow Puff - you had older brothers!!  That is what has made you so tough! :) :-*
BL - Yikes - your story of claustrophobia  :o ::)  I hear you on that one as far as being put into a situation where you feel as though you can't breathe.
Lani - We got a little rain last night and early this morning.  I think we will get more rain tomorrow.
Karen - Glad you got a girl hired that you can hopefully rely and trust!
Tsk - Poor Tim! Thoughts & prayers that he starts feeling better now.
Lani - That is great news on the Banyan tree. :) :)
Tig - Good that you and your friend postponed a lunch for later on down the road!  Hope she feels better soon.

Beakers have a good evening - keep safe - stay warm
