Clynn - thanks for that red dragonfly article...even in the Eastern US...love to see one in person.

I've had tinnitus since my 40's? in both ears and intermittent BPPV which I've said after a bad viral labrynthitis..just got much much worse in the last months in one ear, my left ear along with symptoms of partial hearing loss and a sense of fullness. So when I was at my internist for a wellness visit: all blood work, physical exam and x rays were normal normal but she thought my ear just needed otc cleaning....hasn't worked so seeing an ENT tomorrow. Bugs the crap out of me

kb - I just had a slight case of tinnitus a week before I left to head to Alabama.  It came on suddenly.  I do have permanent tubes in my ears, which causes them to get wax on the tubes.  I had some steroid ear drops from my last tube placement, and used those for a few day to see if it helped.  When the returned my call about the tinnitus he said, cut back on the caffeine, lower my salt intake, and Ibuprofen intake, and try to listen to the TV and radio at a lower volume.  Odd, but I don't know if the drops worked or the other stuff, but it is gone.

Phyl - I agree with you, everyone deals with grief differently.  I did not have a good cry till I was driving back to Savannah.  Had to pull over and let Bradley drive.

clynn - Thanks for saying, Im not awful.   :)  I hardly ever have a hard time falling asleep, but the mind was working overtime.

Lisa - it just "came to me" yesterday that I need steroid drops.....then when I called for the appt with the ent tomorrow she asked if I'd gotten only otc meds and I said yes....so thinking that may be the answer given to me tomorrow?

KB  Beauty of a dragon fly. :o   A lot of folks have good results with melatonin. You may be surprised what an ENT can dig out of your ear - " Oh I can hear again"  That's what has happened to me in the past.  LOL  Ear canals narrow so I get them cleaned every year now.  Use the OTC softening agent a week before I go.

CLYNN  Amazing.  I do the same thing.  I focus on a deep breath in and then a slow breath out.  It's like a miracle.  Have to really focus on the breath tho.   He gets the ice at one of our grocery store - Jewel ( Safeway)    # 5 dragon fly is a beauty.  never knew there were so many red ones.   Anvil monument - another one I'm not familiar with.

So yesterday while practicing with my new edger/trimmer in the front yard an elderly gentleman was walking by and stopped to investigate.  I politely asked if I could brush the cicada from his shoulder  LOL  My first one!!  altho many have tons in their yard trees - may depend on the trees.

bounce

Thanx for the info on tinnitus. I'll keep track when I don't plan to drink coffee next week at the lake, as I need to pack very lightly. I'll need to bring some melatonin though, as I am used to falling asleep to the TV.
BTW, Rosie didn't make it here... Mom n Dad decided not to leave town.

tsk good to hear on the ear thingy....I already was told I had tiny ear canals decades ago. Yes, I think I need one of those ENT tools that internists don't have....

I remember decades ago, ear cleaning was a routine part of my annual physicals.....Not any more.

I can't wait to hear after tomorrow!....I am watching for potential very severe weather right about my appt time tomorrow.....we shall see...the humidity here has climbed significantly already.

TIG   Let me know how the tinnitus is or isn't without coffee.  Mine started up about a year or so ago and I have been drinking coffee forever.  Maybe cumulative?

LANI   Puffins on deck now  ;)  Good info for Puff.  Enjoyed the video and how he attached the copper hanger..

KAREN  I heard briefly they had the Dali on floats - going 1 mile/hr
