Will not repeat all that has been said except that I had a range that looked like yours old guy but it was a dual fuel,  gas burners and electric oven, broiler!    Kenmore.  Great appliance!   No gas here so back to all electric!

Hot today!  Glad you ladies dodged the bullet nut that story about the car is pretty amazing!
I too love the proud look of mama dog and all her children!  The look on Misty's face tells the story!   She did good though!   Lisa do u hear from  the children?   Hope all are doing well!  Has Misty settled into domestic life abd srevm and b getting along well,

Clynn, let us know how Sofie does!  That is   A lot with surgery and shots all at once!  Wow!   Your littler adventuresome explorer may be laid low for a few days!

LISA   That pic of Misty is a stitch!  ;D ;D

PHYL   Technically it's unheard of to get tornados in this area in February.  Wisconsin has already had one as well.  Lots of records being broken this "winter".

LORI   Our "treats" gal.  Always delicious  ;D

Winds were brutal today.  Was out twice.  Big parka and hood.

comments on over cooked potatoes in slow cooker...
This is the unit that I use - it has a dial that rotates to select temp.  Made in the early 1980s

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1683809285/vintage-west-bend-slow-cooker-autumn?
4 hours for vegies is about perfect time in a slow cooker - I like roast beef at about 8 hours.
I set my temp so the water in bottom is about 200-210.  I did a roast for Sat. night and started it at 9am for 5:30 serving.  I added potatoes and carrots at 1:30pm.  Everything comes out great - meat temp was 175 to 185 - firm enough to slice, but I could cut it with my fork to eat.  Carrots were done - most I could use a fork to stab and remove from pot without breaking them.  Potatoes were fork tender and mashable.  I don't own a newer crock pot with the 4 position temp switch, so I don't know what temp they cook at on high or low.

This is the pot I do my chili in...

Kb - Do you mean cook them whole in the crockpot with roast?  Do you peel yours like in the pic when cooking?

Phyl - She still gives us that look sometimes, but she knows she is loved.

Lori - Hey girl...how are ya?

karen - Here is a pic of Sydney that B & K posted today. They put pigtails in her hair, but the one with both tails was blurry.  I thought this pic was cute.  ;D

tsk - That is one of my favorite pics of Misty & kittens.  I see the winds are going to pick up here in the next few hours.  I don't think they are supposed to be as bad as yours, tho.

oldguy - Thanks for the info!

Good night, everyone!

Lisa - I don't peel my Yukons just wash with a vegetable scrubber....yes, cook whole or if they are large cut in halves or quarters...I cooked it all together today and was all good at 6 hours on low.
I only had 1 1/2 pounds of roast meat but followed the recipe otherwise the same..

I should say, like oldguy, I could cut my carrots and meat with a fork, and I cut the potatoes in smaller pieces and they weren't mushy but cuttable with a fork or spoon.

OLDGUY     You are a chef extraordinaire  :o :-*   Thanks for the tips  ;)

LISA   She is such a sweetie.  And those eyes remain very impressive.  Now a big smile to add to that  ;D :-*

TIG   Very impressive ceremony.    RIP  :'(

PHYL   Tornados are very common in Ill.  We have a tornado belt where they are most likely to occur.
We shall see about those hurricanes... ???

Tsk I  sorta thought tornadoes were common in Illinois . There's such a belt that runs thru the MidWest down to the South.  I really don't like spring  in Tenn because of them. And, didn't like it in Mo for same reason.

CLynn how's Miss Sophie? I'm concerned.

Tig tks. that's some procession. And,  well deserved too.  ;)

Lisa like Karen,  is Sydney standing on her own?

I have never cooked on a gas stove/oven. Except in my parents mountain cabin near Idyllwild, Ca.      Nah---I'll take all electric appliances
Dinner tonight: meatloaf w/tomato sauce; baby red mashed potatoes, peas and carrots. And, a garden salad

Catlin Clark was unstoppable tonight - triple double - 33pts,12 assists, 10 rebounds.  She set 3 scoring records.  Iowa beat Minn. 108 to 60 and shot 61.8% for the game.  They made 22 out of 39 3 pt. shots for 56.4%  It was a 3pt clinic. :o
