Like all of you I have watched the ceremonies honiring President .carter and will watch tomorrow’s  service at our National  cathedral.

Prayers for all affected by  the horrific fires in California and Arizona.    Terrible loss of habitat for humans, pets and wildlife!   Hard to imagine the scared remains.
Take care  All.    Tsk, how is your shoulder?

Howdy Beakers!

I started this post early this morning, and time has got away from me.

tsk - Oh, those docs are tricky when it comes to giving you a shot!  I hope your shoulder is feeling a lil better this morning.

Phyl - Chili sounds good for this cold weather.  Loved that good night pic, looks so cozy. Thanks for the 365.

karen;D  I can only stay contained in the house for so long.  Aww, those pups.

kb - Prayers for all in CA!

Lani - LOL, so true about getting a haircut!  Your campfire pups, too cute.

clynn - I would gladly share my snow with CA!  Cute lil houses in Winona, MN.  SWFL kiddos are growing.  ((Kay)), happy heavenly birthday!

tig - Both sound yummy!  Thanks for checking on E4E.

Lori - Doing anything special for your birthday?

thanks, Lisa...I know the area of the Palisades, Malibu, and topanga intimately. I watched live feeds till 1am last night. It feels like "home" in a way.

the Pacific Palisades is gone....including the whole business district and the one I used to work in. there are no words for this level of devastation. I'm speechless.

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, the fires in CA are so bad, heartbreaking to even think about. Danny doesn't live near that area does he? That little X video is so sad. I heard on the news, a man desperate to get to his house so he could save his beloved dogs. Thank goodness he was finally able to get them out of the house and leave. Jimmy Carter's service was beautiful, watched the whole thing on MSNBC. I wish there were more like him, he was a good man. He is with Rosalynn now and they are happy again..

My brother  Dan lives further north in a  lower suburb of San Francisco. He should be  alight.   Although I've not contacted him through all this.
I may send an email later.
I do have several classmates in the LA area who live in or near the fire areas.
California will always be 'near and dear' to my heart.
Needless to say...thank you for  your concern and thoughtfulness in inquiring.

some bounce

BTW... I checked on E4E, she and extended family are in a safe region, for now.  :-\

BBL

Tig, thank you for sharing that news about E4E and her family being safe from the wildfires at this time. I have been wondering and worrying about her and Kris and others in her family and her close friends she would speak of from time to time. Please share with her my thoughts and best wishes for them, and that she is missed in The Beak!  :-*  By the way, you can share scores and match results - it's fine. I won't be watching tennis till The Australian Open 1st Round match play starts in a few days. They started qualifier play a couple days ago. I hope Coco will do well - she had some off and on success during the off-season, and definitely appeared to have improved parts of her game in some of her matches I did watch not long ago.

Lisa, great snow pics! I hope you can enjoy it some since you don't get that much very often, that I know of. Your 1st pics of the snow there made me "hear the hush." I love that about the beginning of a good ground-cover snowfall... the hush is a wonderful sound.  :) I'm so glad your outdoor-living kitties and other outdoor wildlife are getting some comfort and food and safety thanks to you and Jeff:-*  Lord no - no snow here... while you were getting all that, I had 69 degrees and wind advisories with a gale - was winds here sustained in the mid-20-mph all day with regular gusts in the mid-30-mph to 48 mph gusts. That was official at the airport, though local wx reporters noted some trusted reports of 50+ mph winds. Tho' they were the gusts, those gusts were one after the other, non-stop. It was whipping. We're in the deep freeze now though for our area - way below normal, as much of the country is, so that was a 1-day heat wave here.

Lani, I'm glad for some headway on controlling the Horton Fire... hugs to you, and hope the smoke isn't too bad there today, and that you all stay safe.  :-*

Phyl, I made a giant pot of chili yesterday too! It really hit the spot on such a blustery and cold day here. Hope you don't get a lot of ice, and you and Jim stay safe when a-foot on whatever snow you get!

Waving to All the Beakers!  :)

Prayers for all in the path of the wildfires and for all responders.

CLYNN   Love that Winona houseboat community.  Would love to visit  ;D

TIG   Where's the potluck?   Thanks for letting us know E4E is OK

PUFF   Mother Nature certainly has her ire up.  So many tragedies.

LANI   Cute  cake for LORI  ;D    The JB  wolves were my favorites as well.  Richard Attenburough ( 98 yrs) has a new 7 part series coming up on BBC I think, called ASIA or maybe on Nat geo.  I'm not sure

CLYNN   I can hardly watch that Kansas video - that truck driver :o :o :o   Thanks for the link on puzzle organizers.  Each puzzler has their own method  LOLOL  I prefer the 6 trays to a set you can buy.  I have two tray sets.  I can easily move them around .
It's been that long for Kay already??  We certainly remember what a good friend she was.  :-*

For those that asked:
To be honest I must say my shoulder is worse than when I walked in there yesterday.  I cannot even lift my arm up forward without assist from my left arm.  :P :P    Now I'm going to attribute that to the painful injection site and hope for a better day tomorrow.  Of course I'm not laying around - Costco, ( Tim actually helped there). I then got my car and gassed it up, went to Trader Joes and local grocery to shop.  Will rest this afternoon.

(((Clynn and Family))), I know you and Kelsey and Ed, especially, are missing Kay, especially today, on her birthday, and the fun and yummy homemade meal y'all would be sharing.  :-*

Remembering your good friend, Kay, on her birthday. And thinking of what a good friend you were to her and the special ways you showed that, including your special homemade birthday meal for her of roast beef and mashed potatoes with gravy, and corn, with brownies and ice cream for dessert!  Hugs.  :-*

Karen, how have your outdoor plants done? Did you get below-freezing temps for long? I hope your poinsettia made it through!

((KB)), I know the sorrow you must be feeling over the loss and devastation of that beautiful area you knew so well.

I'm hungry!  ;D  So I'm headed to the kitchen to heat-and-eat some of that chili I made a couple days ago.

Take care, (((All!)))
