tsk  Did you view this link that PHYL posted?  Different from the Trib article.

I'm thinking field trip this spring?  We should talk about it?

BL, my Mom in Albion IL is in the path of that snow tomorrow, I told her to get out and get anything she needed today!

Clynn the forecast for Albion is a little more tricky.

They could get in on the dreaded mix of sleet, snow and freezing rain there.

Tell you're hearty Mom to stay hunkered in for a few days especially with the bitter arctic blast of cold air that will pour in after the storm passes.

That was what the search res ult for "Trib story on local Chicago/OHare eagle viewing"  which I cut from you post this AM. Because I wanted to learn more about the eagles there.  I didn't realize until your post, just now... this was old news.
What I get for being hurried this AM.     Sorry.

Good afternoon Beakers.  I lost my link to the site that has all the Beakers locations.  It might have happened when I replaced my hard drive.  Would someone please repost that link?  Thanks.

baz, did Zippo enjoy her special treat? Did you sing to her? ;D ;D The twins are growing up! Time goes by too fast, it's now 2025 and I remember when we couldn't even foresee getting out of the 1900s!

Clynn, I love those pics of Sam and Soph!!  :) :-* :-* Talk about growing up - look at them now!  :D  Yes, Zippo LOVED her just barely warm, fresh baked sweet potato!! To die for, she said!  ;)  Yes!! I sang her the whole birthday song! With the "look like a monkey and smell like one too" add-on, changed to "flying monkey" for her.  ;) ;D I don't think she appreciated the effort.  8) ;) :-* :-*

Thanks!  :)  Oh, I just saw the rest of today's posts... Awww... Harley - that lovable stinker!  ;) :D :-* and your sweet Honey.  :-* :-* :-* Great pics! Hugs.

HAPPY CATURDAY, BEAKERS!!  :)

I think it should be illegal for companies to lay off long-term workers shortly before they would be able to qualify for retirement/pension benefits!! I have seen that happen to many people - it has been done by some companies for years - not anything new!  There's no "these days" about it.  A hex on companies that do that!!  Curses, eee-vennn!! I would send a murder of crows to them! They would have probable caws!!

OK, I'm using a joke - but to send home a message that I feel strongly about - it just isn't right for companies to treat people that way!!

Karen, in addition to the cold temps, you may be in for severe weather tomorrow, so heads up on that, too! Fingers crossed you don't get any! Oh, I do hope your help's father has a good recovery! I'm glad she could help you today. LOL on how Piper sleeps.  ;D By the way, you probably know... Even though poinsettias are popular at Christmas, they aren't cold weather plants in the least! They are native to warm weather areas of Mexico, and are only mostly greenhouse and hot-house grown for the popular Christmas season for them. They not only are not tolerant of freezing temps, they mostly don't even want to be near any temps below about 40 degrees. Though it sounds like you have some protective plans for yours, so fingers crossed they make it.  :)

Lisa, yes! You are in for a good bit of snow accumulation! Hope Jeff gets the day as a work-from-home! Should! Bless ((you and Jeff)) for caring for those kitties who don't have their own forever homes right now, but all of whom are so thankful for your loving care and help. They will be safe and warm, thanks to y'all.  :-* :-* :-* If any of their condos are outside the shed, you may need to use that new snow shovel to clear their entrances of snow, and for air circulation, as you know. I want to know what Jeff will grill tomorrow night for dinner after he clears the snow off his grill. Seems like steaks would be in order!!  ;) ;D

TSK, that's just awful the way your brother was treated!!  Makes me irate!!

The older twin greats - the 10-year old ones (the younger, 7-year old twin greats, are visiting with their paternal grandfather in the meantime) are having lots of fun at the ski resort, and head home tomorrow. He LOVED skiing, and caught on really fast. After the group lesson, he went for a private lesson on the beginner slope and had a blast skiing there with his instructor. His twin sister did NOT love skiing! I was shocked, because she is so athletic, as well! She loves swim team and gymnastics, and such. I don't know what it was about it that she didn't like, only that she didn't like it! But she is going snow tubing with her twin brother tonight after supper. I'm worrying about frostbite - high winds and wind chill temps in single digits there tonight. Bet they won't stay out long. LOL. She and her brother went to the pool with my Lil Sis today, and had fun there while their Dad got in some skiing time of his own. Then my twin great nephew went skiing again this afternoon on the beginner slope with his Dad while his twin sister hung out at the condo with my Lil Sis doing fun stuff there.

Waving to All the Beakers!! Stay safe and warm, All!  :D

Pic attached below of my twin great-nephew enjoying the beginner ski slope this afternoon.  :)

baz, it's all about greed with most companies. Plain and simple greed. The twins are very active! To each his own!  Love the crow sign, it reminded me of this video:  https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=crows+circling+a+dead+cat&mid=5D8A03AAAE3C46938BF65D8A03AAAE3C46938BF6&FORM=VIRE

This video is very funny!

BL, I checked FB for some of my friends in Albion, sounds like they are all preparing for the worst! I think it is going to hit Springfield too.

Clynn! Yes! It's all about greed! And it's sinful! So much greed... Love that about the turkeys! I have seen so many turkeys in the wild over the years, and some funny things they do, but I never have seen anything like that! Wow! Who knew?!? Okay, now I think giant turkeys rightfully should be added to the carousels in the parks and fairs, along with the horses, unicorns, elephants, tigers, and giraffes! Look at them going 'round and 'round!! Love that funny stand-up routine from the BBC about silent letters! Laugh out loud good! LOL, I needed that! Thanks! I also shared that with my sisters.  :D :D

Baz, good night, and I leave you with Janis Joplin, who made Kris Kristofferson's song famous!  My first year in college, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, both dead from drug overdoses... less than a month apart. Sitting in class when the news came...

Thank you for leading me off on a tangent...again!

Clynn - I figured it had to be around that time frame, cause Bradley was graduating high school, and it was like 2 snow storms back to back.  Great pics of your kitties.  One of my favorite Hallmark Christmas shows uses giant pine cones like that for decorations on the house in the show.  I would love to have some to do that at Christmas time.  Thanks for the tunes 🎶

BrokenLug - Thank you…I’m gonna be honest, not excited about 8” of snow.

Baz - Two of the cathouses are right out my back door.  They are a good 10 inches off the ground.  I don’t think Jeff will be grilling.  😂 He said today, it if wasn’t so windy this afternoon he would have grilled some steaks.

Good night, everyone….stay safe and warm!

PHYL   I would love to be able to dress a cat  LOLOL   That Busse woods nest is the one Puff and I were referring to.  I would park in a parking garage across the xway and look with my binoculars - Not ideal but able to see them.   Manicures - self serve  LOLOL

LISA    Wonder if your B&B guests are now wanting a cup of hot cocoa  LOL    Perfect!!  Look up for the eagles  LOLOL   Very few jobs nowadays where people stay their whole life working at one place.  :(    Some companies are very good tho.  My other bro in Green Bay worked his whole career for Proctor and Gamble - He has great benefits in retirement.  Hope your boots are by the door!!  Take care.

CLYNN  Thanks for sharing your story as well.  Luckily not all companies are like that.  ::)   There is just something about containers that cats love.  Of course Lulu had to help with putting away ornaments.  I put ornaments in smaller boxes and then they all go in one big ornament box which was empty and sitting half way on the coffee table.   She was in it and pretty soon she and the box hit the floor.  Boy did she fly LOLOL  Love all your cat in container pics  LOL  Esp the wreath sitter  ;D ;D ;D
That video was very funny. I have never seen anything like that with turkeys.    Silent letters in words.  So funny.  Am glad I didn't have to learn this language.

PUFF  Yes PHYL's was from 2017.  That's about when I was using binoculars to watch from across the Xway.

BAZI    I'd like to think Zippo was very appreciative of all the good care you provide.  ;) ;) ;) :-*   Another great groaner today  "murder of crows" ;D  Good report on the twins skiing adventure.  You'll have to find out what she didn't like about skiing being as athletic as she is - For me it would be the cold - BRRR

Brrrounce

We attended a local hockey game this afternoon. We stayed for 2 periods and then went to dinner. Camper got some good pics.
My joints were not happy, however. 9 degrees outside but barely in the 50s inside at the rink.

Baz... groan! LOL. Will be watching Coco again tonight. Talons crossed...

Hi ssrl-  "Brrr' cold for you and yours .

Tig--I hear ya on  the joints and sitting in cramped seating and long time.   >:(!     Camper's photos  ;)  :)

Tsk-- binoculars not ideal for bird watching but as you said one gets to see them; my late dad retired from Kaiser Steel Corp. Better benefits  not to be found as far as I know.

Lisa--  Yeah I thought you'd go out early before the frigid mess hit.  LOL 'this is how I drive...";   -8" snow forecast   arggggh! Lucky strays to have your B&Bs bet they'd drink some warm milk;  LOL Jeff

CLynn--I was mostly thinking about her getting out to get the mail or such ...one can slip even with heavily treaded shoes  or the like. Unless
there's a mail slot in the door or a neighbor gets that for her.    Anyway,  just always think about my  widowed mom ( had a spill at mail box) with those Missouri winters after Jim and I moved here.  Tks for captures  from Dick Pritchett cam...those sweet eaglets in their silvery down.  Sam and Sophie so  cute. LOL those caturday shorts on FB... enjoyed  KK  song"Me and Bobby Magee" and  link to KK and JJ performance videos...
ROLF Michael McIntyre Silent Letters

BL--thanks for the map always nice to know where everyone is located

Baz--Yep  a 'murder' of crows...   Nice snap of older great twin on skiis  captures his enjoyment. Tks for the family update

Right now...It's 37F ptly cloudy and  light rain and snow showers after 12 midnight nothing big. But, unless our forecast changes it's  Tuesday 7th temps and  Friday 10th precepts.
And, Jim will be working out in this wintery mess next week all day /week long. He'll bundle up for work of course... and when he gets home warm shower and warm towels to dry. With hot cocoa waiting in his fave recliner.

“ Good Evening Beakers".. .SEDs  to all.
