TIG  Somehow on FB I'm getting tiny house entries.  I could easily live in a tiny house except in those I've seen where the bed is upstairs I do not see a bathroom  LOL  Guess I would need a 1 story  ::) ::)

LISA   Do you suppose people can actually make those beautiful designs in coffee cups?   Regarding that Tribune article - "60 eagle sightings in a 30 mile radius of The Sears ( Willis now) tower downtown".  I'm only about 16 miles from downtown.  Think I will be looking up more - Hopefully not while I'm driving  LOL    I'm going to remember that suggestion from CLYNN only I'll label it frozen squash.  He doesn't like that  LOL  Thanks for posting for KAREN

LANI   LOLOLOL  " If Friday had a face"  ;D ;D ;D   Funny you should mention AAA.  I also cancelled about 7-8 years ago when I had a flat tire in Wisconsin on the way up to Door County. (I had also been a member for 30+ years) I had Lucy in the car and it was winter.  I called and they said they would send a truck.  Meanwhile state police stopped and he called a guy to come right away.  I had been waiting a long time.  Actually I had to be towed.   Sent the whole bill to AAA and they paid.  I'm glad Mike is writing letters!!!

KAREN    WOW  Nice nest cleanup by CROW and Joshua Tree.

BAZI   What a fun b-day present for the 10 yr olds.  Hope they did well and enjoyed the experience.  Closest I ever got to skiing was cross country.  LOL

TGIF and nice posts from everyone today. Weather will begin getting cooler as the days go forward but I am ready with my makeshift greenhouse on the screen porch or some plants particularly two poinsettias from last year that I’ve got the little tiny blooms as opposed to the big ones that usually appear from the nursery. I hope they will make it through some freezing weather , this week  and am thinking  they will. I have  a wroght inotshelf  on the porch. Covered with a plastic  mattress cover.  Has worked in the past.
Clynn, The KAILASH mountains look like meringue so pretty
Love the tiny houses, one story please that helps father suffered a slight stroke and is in the hospital as they are trying to break his blood pressure down. She worked hard today as I had all the Christmas stuff minus one big box to take down and put away and she helped as some of it was too heavy for me the house now looks bear and I miss the Christmas lights. Oh well onto the next season,
Az, Looks like the twins had a great birthday and Zeppo’s celebrating our 37 years in style with a fancy dinner. I do love the sound of your vegetable soup and cornbread. May have to look at making some next week.
My aunt was a member of AAA for years and I have used their trip tickets from time to time never was a member myself and I believe with the advent of cell phones and computers they need for them is somewhat diminished. The prices they have been charging, are pretty high in the waiting times inexcusable.
Lisa, Thanks for posting the Crowl article. Those people do a fantastic job and treat such a wide variety of species, speaking of which the squirrel in armor is a Real hoot .
Going to wish all SIDS and take Piper to bed by the way, she often sleeps in the same position As Sam

BrokenLug - I am waiting for you to tell me if the Maryland weather people are correct for the Eastern Shore.  Are we really getting 3 to 5 inches on Monday?

Lisa it's still a little to early to know snow amounts for sure, but I would tell Jeff to take a "snow day" on Monday and get the snow shovel ready.

If you guys end up in the 'sweet spot' of this relatively narrow snow swath I think 6 - 8" of snow is on the table for you guys.

Lisa. LOL! nothing needs to be said. Thanks for Karen's FB post and reading mine.  ;D I just read BL's post about the snow. Jeff may need to get another B&B ready.  :-\

Karen, Wonderful rescue by CROW and Joshua Tree.... I imagine there's still a lot of debri after two hurricanes.

Baz, I bet {{{Zippo}}} enjoyed her birthday sweet potato.... cute pic of oldest twin greats and dad! What a fun time and new experiences they will have! I'll have to make veg soup next week, corn bread would be great with it too. YUM!

Tsk, you and Lucy had to be cold... glad state police stopped to help... you're lucky AAA paid, they didn't do that for us... so, Mike sent a letter.

Karen, I hope your greenhouse works. I have a makeshift one in my garage for a herb box and couple of potted plants. I have plant light and a cover over it. I pray your helper's dad's blood pressure goes down and he gets well soon. Glad she was able to help you today... you may be right about AAA. They certainly have changed and fees have gone up to where a membership is meaningless.

Tig, MN coach gets a Mayo bath too! LOL!

BL, thanks

Take care all who will be in the area of snow.

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers! It's CATURDAY!!!

Lani, we also have AAA, and have also had it for 30+ years, and had good service for the very few times we have had to use it. I will say, it's like $179 a year now and really not worth it anymore. Of course, as soon as I would cancel it something would happen!  Sweet Seal pup, soulful eyes...

BL, my Mom in Albion IL is in the path of that snow tomorrow, I told her to get out and get anything she needed today!

karen, thanks for the CROW/Joshua Tree article, they are good peeps! Piper and Sam, funny sleepers! I bet they are close to the same size! Glad a helper was there to help with the Christmas stuff!

Sam & Sophie!

tsk, 'frozen squash' will work and he will find it more believable!

baz, did Zippo enjoy her special treat? Did you sing to her? ;D ;D The twins are growing up! Time goes by too fast, it's now 2025 and I remember when we couldn't even foresee getting out of the 1900s!

Lisa, I hate to think of that bridge in the snow... Hope you don't get too much. I can remember many moons ago when our Frederick MD site got about 12+ inches of snow! They were closed for 3 days!

Imagine a pinecone as heavy as a bowling ball and the size of a chihuahua. Believe it or not, such pinecones exist—and they belong to the coulter pine (Pinus coulteri), a conifer that can be found in parts of North America including California and Mexico. Infamous among loggers and foresters, this tree is nicknamed "the widowmaker" because of the unlucky individuals who met their fate as a result of its falling pinecones. This species produces the largest pinecones on the planet, weighing up to 11 lbs (5 kg)!

That was a great Trib story on local Chicago/OHare eagle viewing.  That was the first I heard of in the north side areas of the the loop.

It reminded of the nest you watched off I90/I190.  Is it still viable?

My two closest sightings where in the forest preserve area off of LaGrange Road/129th Street.  People who visited were thrilled to see - preserve police kept viewers 2 miles away from nest tree and across one of the preserve lakes.  Not that I'm spoiled with location and setup in Decorah, but I never went back.  (I'm reminded yet again of the time, 2015?, when an adult flew past me and along side, at about 8 feet up.  It was off to the side of the runoff pond - I felt the breeze created by the powerful wings.

Then there's my illegal pic of the Divan sitting on a large post by a raceway - about 5-6 feet from me.  Glad I took the shot - proof if my thrill.

There's the 4 Rivers Center west of me, also.  I visited there maybe 4 years back; they were in the process of building and enlarging.  Lovely, educational field building.  Many nests and avian action.  About 45 minute drive from me.

Love hearing about all the advancements - along with the National Bird designation.

Mornin' all.  Week of chilly ahead of us here.

KAREN   Sorry to hear about your helper's Dad with a small stroke. Hopefully he will recover quickly. Prayers.  My tree will come down today - Sad.  House does look bare like you say.  My brother - a geography major - worked for AAA his entire career.  He was 5 months from retiring and they laid him off so they wouldn't have to pay him benefits.  Nice company, huh?  Needless to say he was heartbroken.  A loyal and dedicated employee.  Had received many awards...sigh

CLYNN   Those were some great cat clips.  Loved the kitty spraying milk all over and black cat's response  LOLOL    WOW  What a pine cone!!   Would love to see what the crafters do with those  :o   Your two kitties have beautiful coloring. :)

PUFF   I am told the I90 nest has changed there a couple times.  I have not gone out to see it tho.

Good Morning Beakers...and Happy Caturday !

Currently: 28F  partly cloudy , High  39F ,  Low 28F

Hi Puff--I looked up the Trib story on local Chicago/OHare eagle viewing, nice article , so happy  for them and great photos, https://news.wttw.com/2017/03/23/bald-eagles-spotted-near-o-hare-signal-comeback

Lisa-- Extra B&Bs for the kitties.  3" to 5" that's enough to make life difficult  & risky driving IMHO.  Be careful. I'm on about the same latitude ..but further inland  and generally we get the same forecasts...snow  forecast isn't going to hit us until this Sunday as a rain turning to  snow  about 8AM. Lasting thru Monday.

CLynn--that's a humongus pine cone;
Lani--  the crazy look on that shephard's face, perfect for TGIF LOL.   Seal Island pup  has such a darling face awwww.

Karen--wonderful rescue by CROW &  Joshua Tree...two hurricanes!  Tks for  update.; hope your greenhouse works , lit a prayer candle for your
home helper's Dad

Baz--glad Zippo had a nice birthday and her sweet potato treat  ;) ; tks for the family photo update w/ twin greats & their dad. Cute photo kids have grown ...a fun day for all.

Tsk--'Cat Conspiracy'  LOL;  AAA not worth the $$$ nowadays, my parents, when we lived in the Mojave Desert near Palm Spgs, because of the high summer temps  and the long stretch of highway between where we lived and town with  no stops back then... folks had those water bags on the front car grille.

Prayers for:  Victims of natural  and Man-made disasters plus those who rescue them. The Fallen / Our Allies in Defense of our country. And   #47.   Police and First Responders.   'Little Gray' and 'Little One' and  all abandoned, abused , lost cats , stray, unloved, homeless  and feral cats.
The Bluebirds of Cane Ridge, Tennessee,  Sauces bald eagle cam nest, Hummingbirds, Bumble Bees  and Honey bees everywhere . As always, Beakers, Cheerios and RRP / families.

Tsk, what a heartless and disgusting thing that AAA did to your brother and I'm sure to a lot of employees near retirement age. That's *****!!!  I'm sorry.  >:( ... perfect Caturday post to go along with AAA.

CLynn--didn't realize, until I just read Lani's post, that   your mom was in the path of this winter storm!   I've lit another prayer candle, just for her safe keeping.

Tsk-- I missed the part about your brother working for AAA ...a real bag of crap they did to him nearing retirement. Sadly that sort of treatment is getting very common nowadays .  :( >:( :(

Lani-- oh what a sweet wiggley kitten this  AM

Good Morning Beakers.......It's Caturday!

baz - Great pics of the older greats with Dad on ski trip.

tsk - There must be a school to make those pretty designs in coffee.  Jeff says, this is me when I drive and spot an eagle.   ;D ;D

karen - CROW is awesome. Prayers for your helps father.

BrokenLug - Went an bought a new snow shovel, as the others are in the shed where the kitties are staying, so didn't want to disturb them.  Also got me some Safe Paws ice melt for the patio.

Lani - Adorable gray seal pup!

clynn - I would love to have some of those pinecones for Christmas decorating!  Hmm, I wonder if that snow of 12+ inches in Frederick would have been back in maybe 2010?
I think that is like the last time we had a significant amount of snow.  Sam & Sophie are so beautiful.

Puff - Stay warm!

tsk - The same thing happened to my Dad with BellSouth.  My Dad had 10 months to retire, and just because he was getting RA really bad and could not climb the poles as well as he use to, they told him he was a hazard to the company.  He did not receive his full benefits either.

Phyl - I went and did my shopping this morning, unless I absolutely have to.  Jeff is already hoping the Judiciary announces on Sunday night that they can work from home on Monday.  If not, he will take a day off.

kb, tig, oldguy and all - Morning  :)

I hope all will stay warm with the impending weather.

Lisa, yes, it could have been 2010 for that big snow in Frederick! One of my friends there sent pictures of the parking lot for her apartment building. It was WOW! Love the picture of you driving and watching for eagles! That would be me too! Last year I caught a glimpse of one not too far from home. I quickly turned the car around and tried to find it but couldn't. Maybe I imagined it? I don't think so... Cute morning pic! I would love one of those pinecones too! I would soak it in cinnamon water and put a big red bow on the top! I just found some of them on Etsy...

Phyl, beautiful pic at the beginning of the 365, with the moon and pines. Yes, TWC says 6-11" and possibly another inch Monday morning. I am sure she is out getting what she needs for the next week!  I also think it's crappy when companies crap on their employees. Your good morning cats look none too happy about their hats!

tsk, That stinks, what they did to your brother. Heartless. My last year at WF before retiring I was begging my boss to lay me off. I would have gotten a whole year of salary for severance. That would have been great! It used to be 2 weeks pay for every year of employment, but a couple of years before I retired they set the max at 12 months of pay. I worked there for 32 years. That would have been another 6 months of pay.

Lani, love that kitten in the bowl! Pictures of Harley and Honey in bowls and containers:

Lisa here's the latest NWS forecast (as of Saturday AM) for your area.

https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-76.14876938436448&lat=38.99152628371402

If you guys get into that "purple Wintry Mix bubble" (3rd image) it would bring your snow amounts down, but if you don't get into that bubble you could exceed your Expected snow amount of 8". (Last image).
