karen - RIP President Jimmy Carter, he lived a long life 100 yrs old.   :(
I heard about all those storms down there.  I did not hear from niece or brother, so assumed they were not affected.  I hope it missed you too?  We are in for rain and wind tonight, 20 to 30mph with gusts possible higher.  Kitties better take shelter in the shed!

tsk - That sounds painful... " right shoulder puzzle-itis".  Beautiful puzzle!!!  Pretty morning greeting, too.

BL - Thanks for that info, I did not know that!

Lani - Thank you!  And, thanks for the TRR update.   :)

Karen, I saw this news a little while ago, too. Rest in Peace, President Jimmy Carter.  :(

Just back from B&T's hosting the family on Tim's side - sisters/cousin. Pot luck and mimosas and cookies.  Kim his cousin who is handy at everything!! -
smelled gas when she was helping put things away in the basement when everyone left
She thought it was the water heater.  Neither Barb or I could smell it.  Sure enough Nicor came out and 3 leaks around the water heater - two fixed and valve to fireplace shut off to be dealt with when they return from Florida.  YIKES - a close one.

TSK, YIKES! That's scary!! So glad she smelled it and it got checked and fixed!

So, did they not have a CO detector? Or it wasn't working?

My gosh, that is too scary!!

Just a heads up to all Beakers: A standard carbon monoxide detector does NOT detect natural gas !

Unless you have a dedicated natural gas detector in your home about the only way you become aware of a natural gas leak is by your nose via the added to natural gas by law rotten egg smell.

BL, thanks for that reminder to the Beakers.  :) I know that, however, I did not read TSK's post closely enough to see that it was natural gas, and not CO (carbon monoxide), that was the problem. I just immediately latched on to the "gas leak" idea and my brain immediately stopped working.  ::) ::)  I am very sensitive to the issue of carbon monoxide-related deaths due to people not having working CO detectors placed where, if, needed. Though that was clearly not related to the issue TSK posted about! Even so, just reading that Kim "smelled it" should've alerted my brain to that fact, since CO is odorless. Thank goodness for the added "rotten egg" smell added to natural gas to help natural gas leaks get detected. And thank goodness Kim smelled it!!

Phyl, I was only adding my own fruit pie experience and taste likes... and was not suggesting anything whatsoever about Marie Calendar's pies or how sweet they might be. I don't think I've ever eaten a Marie Calendar pie. Thanks for letting me know that brand uses whole fruit. LOL! My very warm temps I mentioned having during my walk yesterday is not at all normal this time of year here. My normal high temps this time of year would be in the 50s. This is a very temporary above average temp here for a few days, as much of the country has also experienced recently.

Okey dokey, Beakers. That about does it for me for now.

Oh law... LOL!

Take care, Beakers.  :-* Stay safe and warm, or not hot, whatever the case may be for anyone who may read this.

Good night, Beakers. Peace. SED.

Early assessment by Juan Brown of the South Korean air crash:
https://youtu.be/BzmptA6s-1g

Interestingly, a bird strike in the right engine is "suspected", but unknown is why they came in without landing gear down, flaps down, and spoilers....geesh.

The bird strike would NOT have affected the hydraulics of the above.

Good Morning Beakers!

We arrived back home last night, Vicky and Erin took good care of the cats, they are fine and back to normal! Good weather, no snow. Mom and Aunt Linda and cousins are doing well. Ed's family in Springfield are well, except for his sister Gina, she is having some issues. Ed has 6 gallons of Prairie Farms chocolate milk...

Lani, love Rabbi Cockatoo!  ;D ;D ;D Sweet sloth pictures... And what sweet dogs in the good night picture!

BL, that sounds a bit scary!

baz, we are having above average temps too! I like Marie Calender's individual chicken pot pies, but had to banish them. 610 calories 36 grams of fat!  :o :o Love the saying about the mosquito!

tsk, "right shoulder puzzle-itis", now that's a new one!  The puzzle is beautiful! Missing one piece! Take a pic and send it to them, maybe they would send you that piece!

Lisa, love that Jeff provides a Hotel for Wayward Cats...

Phyl, Mom loves the Razzleberry pie, seems like there is always one in her freezer!  Along with Prairie Farms vanilla ice cream...wonderful!

CLYNN   Wonderful news that it was a safe and healthy Christmas overall.  Kitties glad to see you??  6 gallons of milk should last a week or so  LOLOL   I'll give that a try on sending them notice of a missing piece.  Have nothing to lose.  I've torn the room apart figuring I dropped it unnoticed.  I'm sure we will hear lots about the planets and what sky to look in on the 25th.

KAREN    Is the commercial name "bio freeze" ?  We have about every lotion and cream they sell - Even some CBD ointment.  Of course it is all topical so not to expect much long term.  :(         ;D ;DCute Lucy!

Off to bring lunch/presents to my niece et al.  This is the one with the "Broadway bound dtr"  Haven't seen them since summer!!!  Very busy family.
