Rain for a while this morning.  The eaglets are too big for both to fit under a parent at the same time.

Baz, good description!  The eaglets change so fast that the way they looked yesterday while I was away, likely is different from today!  The article about feathers from April 16th is really interesting. Just tuning in at 2:00, and MrN is on the bank of the creek.

Rain more earlier today.  Cam ops get great closeups on the nest.  DN17 (I think) horked up a pellet that I thought might be a mouse, but probably too big.

Sunshiny and windy and chilly at the North's valley.  Everybirdie seems to be thriving -- except some of the fish.   ;D   ;D

One of the eaglets horked up another large pellet this morning, around 7:00, I think. No pic, but it looked like the one from yesterday.  EEEwwwww.

DNF fed leftover fish to the eaglets early morning.  After she left, MrN came and ate for himself, then shared with the kiddos.
Skip to 3:45 to watch eaglets napping and growing, much like the rest of the day.   ;)

Morning calesthentics for the eaglets about 9:00 on the rewind.  Wingersizing from one, probably DN17, with tiny hops!  Then the same youngster picked at nest materials, lifting and setting down.  Awesome.  The other eaglet was napping and stretching one wing and a foot, and later stood up with a great wing stretch, showing off long wing feather sheaths.

Jump forward to about 6:00 this evening for closeup views of the wing feathers that MrN has been trying to molt for a couple of days.

Phyl, nice to see your pics!

Toward lunchtime, DNF was feeding fish to the eaglets when something caught her attention at the creek bank. She flew there and returned with the carcass of probably a muskrat, after a mid-way stop at the Yonder Snag to catch her breath.  Without eating the carcass, she left again and returned shortly with a fish.  They must be spawing today because this fish and another brought by MrN were full of roe.

Dinner at 7 for the eaglets at DNN.  The chatters say it's muskrat, and I agree.
And a closeup pic of the dark, short body feathers coming in.

SEDs to Everybirdie   :)

Windy this morning, and eaglet life goes on as normal.  Eat, preen, poop, sleep, repeat.  Parents have brought some fresh nest material.

Nice morning at DNN.  Early closeup of the eaglets shows the wingfeather sheaths on one of them, with feathers protruding out by inches!

After breakfish and a siesta while DNF or MrN watched from the Perching Branch to the upper left, a red-tailed hawk perched briefly on the Yonder Tree at about 8:45 AM.  The parent flew in that direction to drive it away, then MrN came to the nest for a closer protective location.

Both eaglets have tailfeathers, too!  Not a great pic, better as the feathers grow a little more.

3:00 in the afternoon is a good time for eating fish at the North's nest.  MrN brought a small fish, and DNF brought a lunker!  The eaglets ate  enough that their crops were so full they had trouble balancing upright.  It's all good.
