More of the action includes more fish and a third mating.  Our lovely pair have been perching together near the nest since then.  Gotta be close to egg-laying.

The Norths have spent most of the day together.  It's definitely "that time of the year" for this lovely pair.

The Norths are certainly showing all the signs of egg-laying time soon.  I'm guessing this weekend.  BL, your predictions are as likely as mine!

The tall tree branches out behind the nest seem to be a favored place this week.  Another mating there, both eagles perching and trying to break off sticks.

It's still mating time and time for the Norths to be working on the nest today so far, daylight to 4:00 PM.  No food gifts seen on the rewind.

Cam ops panned around showing us some of the cabling apparatus for the great views at DNN this season.  Hairy woodpeckers both male and female have been pounding at branches near the nest.

On rewind, wonderful extreme closeups of MrN and DNF at different times today.  Hope someone with better quality pic-taking than mine posts some so we can count the specks in their eyes.

Maybe tonight . . . . Raining and cold near midnight.  DNF is right next to the nest, just in case.  MrN on a Love Branch nearby.

Shep, you got it right!  DNF laid the first egg of this season about 2:15 this afternoon.

MrN brought her a fish about 11:00, and she wasn't very interested in it. They puttered around the nest, mated about 1:30 out behind the nest, then she came to the nest in labor.  Didn't take long.

Congratulations to the Norths!!

The Norths seem to slip right into the same schedule as past years for sitting on the nest and changeovers every couple hours.  They are still actively mating, too, see pic from mid-morning.
